Highway Imaging Associates

Had a nuclear stress test here two years ago. Still waiting for them to call back in regards to the Thalium that was used when I informed them that I was setting off the radiation detectors at work.
The staff told me the Doctor who was to read my test results NEVER heard of anything like this and they would get back to me. Advised me to call my doctor. Still waiting for him to call back. Suffice it to say, I don’t go to either of them anymore.

I’m updating my review only because management has reached out to me and made me feel whole over my experience. I’m extremely impressed that they do take reviews on Unilocal seriously. My family will visit this establishment one more time when the need comes. Although my comments were general, the review was a result of two individual staff members. Thank you again for letting me know my patronage matters.

I love how spacious this facility is. I made my appointment a week ago and came in without any problems. I was thankful for the parking lot because not many places in bklyn provide that these days.
Everyone was pleasant here and it was very empty when i arrived for my appointment but i guess since it was after 5pm, and business hrs are turning down so yeah, great experience
I do have two issues though. One is the address. The address says Flatbush ave but it is actually on East 45^th. So be careful, you will miss it. Issue number two is that there is no wifi service even though it says they have a hotspot. I had to finish up some do documents from work while i waited and the girls at the front told me there is not an access code for their wifi. Other than that, nice and clean place with an efficient and fast service

I really wish to this place 0 stars. If your doctor gives you a referral to this place please ask for another facility. So disorganized. I had scheduled the appointment about a week ago. So they had a while week to call me and let me know that they couldn’t get preauthorization for the appointment. So instead harassing me with numerous automated voice mails and texts they should have had the courtesy to call and let me know this. The receptionist even agreed. Obviously so infuriating. It’s a Saturday and I had to rearrange my day. I had even called and spoke to the receptionist checking on the insurance verification if it was covered 3 days after I scheduled the appointment. Like I said do not come here. I should note that I too work in a medical office and I know about insurance. I always notify my new patients if we are unable to get preauthorization days before their appointment.

To tell you the truth this place doesn’t deserve any stars. They make you wait at least 1 hour (usually more), they are rude and they lie. Yes, lie. For this last appt. I was extremely clear when I asked if my appt time was real or were they having me come in ½ hr early to fill out the 3 min. worth of paperwork and 3x i was told NO this is your exact time. Lo and behold i waited the usual hour. I love my technician and told her how upset I was so she called in the asst manager of the office who had the audacity to blame it on the technician to her face. That’s when I said — give me all my records — i’m taking my business elsewhere. This place is a nightmare…

So my daughters appointment was for 2pm, they told me to get here at 1 since she needed to drink water. 1.45 comes & shes still not registered so i say something & one girl goes, oh her appointment is at 2. The other asks did she start drinking yet. Uh no, shes not registered, have no clue how much she should drink. Finally they register her after 2, its not 2:25 pm & still waiting to be seen even after she drank her 4 cups of water. Smfh, next time im gonna tell my Dr to send me to Doshie…

The only reason why I am giving this business a 3-​star and not a 4-​star is because of the front desk girls. There are about 4 to 5 of them that work there. They are nice when they want to be (which isn’t very often) The reptionist named Majorie or Maggie (whatever her name is) is rude. She seems to only be sweet when dealing with her native people (haitians). With everyone else she is snarcky. Like she can’t be bothered. In fact the only receptionist that is even remotely nice is Kamilah. She actually takes care of you and listens to your questions. The techs inside are super nice as well. The waiting time in the waiting area is a bit of a wait so expect to wait at the least, 45 min. unless you’re doing an x-​Ray. Go figure!

Clean. I guess they did a fine job with the imaging. But whoever answered the phone assured me, and checked to confirm, that I would have no issues with claustrophobia, given the location of the imaging. When I got there, the tech looked at me like I was crazy. I should have known better than to listen to whoever answered the phone for medical advice, but she really shouldn’t have been doling it out, with such confidence. Also ridiculously expensive. I have had imaging done at other labs, where my co-​payment was much less. And just as an added insult, I had to go back out for a second trip to pick up the disc with the electronic data. They wouldn’t send it to my surgeon themselves.

So it was one of those times when doc says you gotta do this just in case and so you do. As a result I had to figure out how to get to Flatbush avenue and Quentin Road. It was certainly unconquered territory for me, thank goodness for google maps (I even discovered that they tell you when the next bus is).
The place itself is pretty clean and welcoming. There is a big waiting area and the wait isn’t that long, probably due to a well kept schedule. The front desk staff seemed pretty friendly and helpful.
The listed neighborhood is Mill Basin, which is slightly wishful thinking. It’s Flatbush Avenue, after all, its about 20 minutes walking from The Junction, as in Nostrand and Flatbush crossing, a site of the nearest train station for 2 and 5 trains, the last stop for the 2.

No one necessarily likes getting diagnostic testing done, but if you’ve got to get it done, you want the place to be nice, and the technicians and office people personable.
Highway Imaging is a nice looking place inside, but the staff leaves much to be desired. Nearly each client had some sort of disagreement or argument with one of the receptionists behind the glass.
Also, you just don’t feel welcomed by any of them, but I guess as long as they properly administer the tests requested by your physician, then one can overlook their shortcomings.
