J.L. Carpet & Upholstery is an industry leader in Oriental and Persian rug cleaning and restoration repairs. We also specialize in fine fabric upholstery cleaning and residential/​commercial carpet cleaning. We are fully insured and licensed and service the NYC Metro area. Being a grass roots company that focuses on customer satisfaction while performing with precision excellence keeps us ahead of the competition. Jarred Lustgarten has owned and operated this business with the help of skilled technicians which he has trained himself. Having built a reputation in the professional cleaning industry as honest and extremely talented, we were one of only 40 companies selected from hundreds of cleaning firms across the US, Canada, and UK to participate in the Textile Pro Program launched by rug specialist Lisa Wagner and fabric specialist Jim Pemberton.

Jarred is also valued member of his community donating his time and services to schools and is father to 19 year old Devin and step father to14 year old Sophia and 7 year old Samantha.

Jarred performed great service at a great price for me and my wife and, other than being hard to get in touch with, we couldn’t be happier.
We had a couch, a wool rug, and an oriental rug that needed cleaning. I called and was quoted the best price of any other cleaning service I called. We couldn’t work out a date for cleaning when I first called, so I was told to text my info and they would get back to me. After a few days and not hearing anything, I called back. I had to do this three times before I reached someone. He apologized and we arranged a date.
He came on time, charged exactly what he estimated, and was done in a reasonable amount of time. He took the oriental rug with him to get cleaned off-​site. He worked with us as we were moving and needed the rug delivered to a new location. He took exactly the estimated time to clean the oriental rug, then called and arranged drop-​off of it and came on time.
We will be recommending J.L. carpet and Upholstery to all our friends.

Jarred was a pleasure to deal with by phone (on a Sunday no less!) and our carpet cleaner, John, was friendly and efficient. I had an emergency situation where I needed the carpet in my twins room cleaned ASAP and they were able to fit me in the next day. They did a great job at what I consider a fair price and I would definitely call them again.

I had a wonderful experience with J.L. just today! I spoke with Jared on the phone, and he was professional and friendly. Anthony came to my house early and although I was not home yet, I felt comfortable enough to have him go in and start, which was helpful to my time and responsibilities afterwards, as I’m sure it was for him. I arrived 20 minutes later and Anthony was well on his way. Most of the old baby barf stain and red wine stains (from 2 different nights, lol) were nearly gone from my off white sofa! My sofa and chair look bright and fresh! Anthony was also professional, courteous, trustworthy and very nice to be around. I highly recommend this hard working company to help you take care of your home. I’m glad I did!

I used J. L services back in August. The customer service was great. I needed the carpets to be cleaned asap (as my landlord did not bother) and J. L could provide me with the next day service. They were sharp on time, cleaned fast and very efficient; charged me exactly what i was quoted!

Jarred was awesome! Prompt, professional, and honest. I found him through Unilocal and happy his 5 star reviews were true.
He worked with my very tentative schedule (I wanted to get the sofa cleaned the same day it was delivered as it was used) where I told him I might have to move back the appointment the same day if my sofa delivery got delayed. He was responsive via text and phone call well before the day of the appointment, which was extremely helpful for me as I called around for quotes, availability etc.
He arrived right on time and when he arrived, he gave an honest assessment of my sofa and what he would/​would not be able to «fix», given the sofa was used.
Seriously, he is fully worth the money. And his price is on par with other upholstery cleaning companies in the area, if not a bit cheaper.
Note: The company does give movie tickets to those who write reviews, so that is worth noting as to why he has so many Unilocal ravers. That said, I wouldn’t write this review if I wasn’t being honest. I use Unilocal as a gauge for many services and based on my experience, Jarred & this company is worth the 5 star Unilocal average they have!

I used this company because of the great reviews. I was not as pleased. The carpet kinda looked the same. As he was packing up, I noticed some stains were still there. I had to ask him to go over it again. He did but the carpet just didn’t look that much better. He was on time and started working quickly. He was friendly and helpful. So because it did not really get clean they lost stars.

My wife and I can only say good things about JL Carpet and Upholstery. After a month of looking for a good upholstery cleaner we found JL. It turns out the JL also serviced two of our neighbors, who both had a great experience.
We read plenty of reviews about other companies, and most of them had issues around bad services or fraudulent pricing (charging customers more than they originally quoted).
JL offered a great service at the very reasonable price they quoted us. I will definitely us them again and recommend JL to neighbors and friends.

After Googling for hours trying to figure out how to clean my stained flokati rug myself to save money and reading horrors stories, I started to search for a service.
Once I found JL and read all the glowing reviews about Jarred’s personal touch, I sent a text to him to make an appointment. Jarred responded right away, offered a price and showed up the next day to pick the rug up and promised to return it faster than usual (I had a deadline).
The cleaning cost exactly what he said it would, he dropped it off exactly when he said he would and all the while he was extremely friendly, helpful and nice throughout our entire interaction. AND the rug looked beautiful.
If only every little thing you needed done were this easy, this pleasant!
I would highly recommend these guys and for sure would hire them again.

A family friend spilled an entire bottle of beer on my velvet sofa and let it sit for a few hours before letting me know of what he had done. Naturally, I reprimanded him and have him an ultimatum: either he paid someone to clean it professionally or he bought the couch at retail value.
Needless to say, a vibrant guy, Anthony, showed up at my door and took care of the stain in under 20 minutes. My sofa looks like the day I bought it, if not better! I’m over the moon!

Great communication and service, transparent prices. I contacted JL through the website for a sofa that was in dire need of cleaning and Jarred got back to me very quickly with a quote and to schedule an appointment. Sean arrived right on time and did a great job. Everyone I spoke to at JL was very friendly and professional.
My nine-​year-​old sofa looks and smells a million times better! I highly recommend JL and would definitely use them again.
