I’m so sad. I wandered into a JC store one day and sat on this very comfortable and not bad looking sectional. I thought it would be perfect for my family room. Immediately my family began napping, reading, cuddling and conversing on it! It was home run. Until my husband sat on it one week later (weighs 185 lbs soaking wet) and the leg snapped off. I called customer service and sat on hold for hours, waited 2 weeks for the repairman to make an appt to fix it and one week later another leg snapped off. I couldn’t believe it. I should have ran from the store when the manager told me JC became affordable when the company was bought by a manfucaturer in China. More garbage from overseas. I’m so disappointed and so is my family!

HORRIBLE PRODUCTS. DO NOT GO TO ANY JENNIFER STORES
I bought a leather couch for $ 2,000. After 3 years, the «leather» started peeling off the couch (the 3 cushions and the back), i brought a cushion to an small upholsterer in my neighborhood, since I read how they don’t honor warranty. And the man in a private store advised me that it wasn’t real leather, that it was a thin skin of leather mixed with plastic on a paper backing, that was why the «leather» peeled off. He said leather doesn’t peel.
He also said for me to fix the various peelings would cost around $ 1,000 and it wasn’t worth it. He told me that Jennifer is HORRIBLE, and that it is all made in China aka fake leather.
I thanked him for his honesty.
DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS FAKE LEATHER.
PS, I am a single male without children, imagine if I had children climbing on the couch. such a horrible company.

I had a pretty bad experience, but I have to say– the salesperson, Carlos, was good. He was the only one that does his job at that company. I found him to be honest, responsive, and fair.
–our family came to the showroom 2x, on the second time, I placed a deposit on an order for a couch, $ 530 on our credit card. I really liked doing business with Carlos, who gave me a great deal. Id say the quality is mediocre, but the price is right.
–we wait 3 – 4 weeks, no word. We figure the couch was supposed to take up to 6, so we aren’t too worried.
–I get an automated call at 5 pm on on a thurs night, informing me that delivery was at 9 am the next day, and that the only money they will accept was a cashiers/​bank check at delivery for the balance. ($ 750) This gave me exactly ONE HOUR to obtain this check. Why on earth we couldn’t pay the balance with the credit card we paid the first half with, is beyond me.
–Of course, they arrive at 8:59 the next morning, and we don’t have the check, being the bank was not even open yet. The very, VERY rude delivery men handed me a cell, with their very nasty boss on the phone to berate me for not having the balance ready. She agreed to have them wait 15 min. They did not wait 15 min. Nor did they return.
–after many texts and unanswered calls, We came to see Carlos about it. He said he had asked them several times to re deliver, and they had refused. He said re-​delivery was set up for Monday (the following day, yet again, with NO NOTICE TO US) and that there will be a $ 100 re-​delivery fee. I said, «Hell, NO.»
–Carlos gave me the managers number to try and sort things out. I called many times, and he never picked up, and his voice mail box was full. Now I’m starting to see the company for what it is. I got the head of customer service’s number. I called that too, again, no answer. I left a voice mail, mentioning the BBB. NO ONE CALLED ME BACK.
–We cancel our order through Carlos, and we are now waiting for our money to come back onto the credit card.
An update;
We were refunded only in part. They kept the original delivery fee of $ 160, for that day they DID NOT DELIVER MY FURNITURE. Thats right, we have been charged $ 160 for nothing. We will be reporting the fraud to our credit card. Its illegal to charge for something that isn’t delivered.
I decided to go with Macy’s this time.
The experience was fantastic, like night and day.

This is the crappiest place on earth. You enter the 7^th circle of hell when you shop at Jennifer Convertibles. I ordered my couches back in February, the delivery people showed up at 6:30am, and where annoyed that I did not hear the first phone call at 6am, meanwhile delivery was scheduled from 8 – 12. Anyway, I let these dopes in, they rushed through the job and left a huge mess I had to clean up. So we get until May, no problems then SQUEAKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK the furniture starts squeaking like crazy. I call up the company and they say they outsource their repairs and put in a claim for my SQUEAK to get fixed. Here we are now in August, and guess what, ITS STILL NOT FIXED! I take a day off for the appointment, and they sent a creature to fix my couch who obviously didn’t want to do it & put in a service order for new cushions. I get the new cushions, and I call them to reschedule again. Soooo I take off yet another day & the same creature comes and is complaining that they didn’t send all the parts. Meanwhile I made this moron email me a copy of the service order and he only ordered cushions. He said there are strings & buttons needed etc. What type of repair person doesn’t have extra tools in their vehicle when they come out on a job??? So I call up Jennifer Convertibles and the moron in customer service says They shouldve fixed it. Mind you the freak repair guy said he would come back later that night at 9pm? Huh??? Can we say Dexter? I’m surprised he didn’t ask me for saran wrap and some kitchen knives. I told him no that’s not going to work for me. 1^st of all that is freaky, I don’t want this strange dude at my home at 9pm when it’s undocumented. So he says he will come the following morning and fix it before he heads out to his jobs. I agree, he said call my cell phone. I called and left a message to confirm, no reply, I sent a text no reply. He probably got wind of it that I knew he was a serial killer from when I called Jennifer Convertibles. So I took the day off again and he didn’t show. 3 days to repair a cushion and no results. BAD BUSINESS!!!
Anyway, I call their outsource furniture repair company and they don’t call me back. I called again today (the 3^rd time I took off for this same issue) and they hung up on me!!! I am slick I ended up getting the owners cell phone # as I know a FBI agent and ran their info. I got the owner on the phone, he didn’t even ask my name he knew who I was. RED FLAG! He said you’re rescheduled for Wednesday, that’s funny because I didn’t know that. I said well that doesn’t work for me. I am not taking another day of work off for this garbage. So he then agrees to send someone from 6 – 8 on Wednesday (tomorrow) I told him do not send the same guy because if he shows up I’m calling the police. I also told him I don’t appreciate being hung up on, lied to, and forced to take off from work to wait around for no reason. My faith in this company is at null and void. While this was going on back & forth between the outsource company and Jennifer Convertibles, I was told so many fairy tales that Hans Christen Anderson is rolling in his grave. I told the ding dong at Jennifer customer service I want to speak with a supervisor and I was told I need to file a claim and it will take 24 – 48 hours to get a call back. ARE THEY SERIOUS??? I would’ve been better off going to work, making $$$ and throwing these piece of crap couches out and buying new ones to avoid this aggravation.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. IT’S NOT JUST THIS LOCATION ITS ALL OF THEM INVOLVED THEY BLOW BIG TIME!!! IF I COULD GIVE NEGATIVE 35 STARS I WOULD. You get better quality and service from the Salvation Army.

I purchased a couch from the Van Ness Store in August of 2006 and paid the extra $ 200 for the «Lifetime Warranty». This warranty was sold to me by the manager of the store and I was assured that no matter what was spilled on it they would come out and clean it.
Well the day finally cam when I needed to have a stain cleaned. They gave me an appointment 2 months out to accommodate my request for a Saturday appointment. When the fellow showed up, he told me that he was a furniture repair man and was not able to clean the stain, but suggested I use warm soapy water. After repeatedly trying to get through to their 1−800−371−6111 number to find out why they hadn’t sent someone who had the ability to clean the couch. I tried for 4 days to get someone to answer at that number, to no avail.
Through some research I was able to locate the phone number for their Vice President of Customer Service Martin Ehrlich 516−496−1900×3276 as well as another person in customer service named Ron Turn (I think…) 516−496−1900×3890.
I wrote a letter and talked to Martin on the phone and he seemed reasonable and pleasant. He informed me that himself or someone named Merrill would contact me within a few days. Well, I got that call today and Merrill must be the hatched person because all she would say was that the claim was denied. She refused to send me a written response but said that she’d be happy to send me a copy of my warranty since I obviously needed to re-​read it.
After I spoke with Merrill, I called the repair man who came to my house, he told me that he was reprimanded for telling me that he couldn’t clean the stain and that he was supposed to have attempted to clean the stain despite not having the right tools or ability.
If you like the couch, buy the couch. The warranty seems like a scam. I used ChemDry for $ 126 and they came out on a Sunday. Much cheaper than the warranty.

I too, would give a zero or a negative rating. Absolute worst experience with customer service. The couch itself is okay, but the process you have to go through it awful.
I have rarely had an experience this poor with customer service. The day before the delivery was expected they left a voicemail with an EXACT time on it, and then proceeded to come 5 hours earlier than said time and did not ring the doorbell and left. Then they said that because we did not receive the delivery they must charge an additional $ 100 fee. A few days later when they finally delivered the couch the staff now wanted me to sign a waiver saying they are not accountable for any damage. We are taking them to court for charging that extra fee.
The company is very unprofessional and does not know what «customer service» means. I have never heard of being charged when you were home, waiting for a delivery and then they leave without ringing the bell.

If i could give zero stars I would. the absolute worst experience of my life has been with this particular store and the salesman there. through his own mistakes and the incompetence of the drivers (they went to the wrong house and the salesman couldnt read his own handwriting and gave the wrong phone number) i still do not have my furniture. the second attempt to deliver we were «bumped» off the truck. an absolute nightmare. i tried to cancel everything and the salesman said he would credit me, then called back begging for a «second chance» he promised next day delivery, and still no furniture. DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THEM.
