It was my first time visiting Fabstylist and Jhauvanna made my experience the very best ever. I have been to salons where you spend so much time and money and have to fight for the stylists attention to do your hair amongst other clients as well as battle their tudes like theyre doing you a favor. Not the case here at all, J was super attentive and made you feel valued and comfortable throughout the process. Im a newby to the weave game so she really explained everything to me and i left feeling confident i would be able to maintain and care for my hairstyle. She is super sweet very down to earth and such a doll, by the time i left she felt like family. Hunty i came in looking like who done it and left feeling runway fierce!!! Its not your average wash and style but lenme tell you, you get what you pay for and for those super talented hands it was well worth it. I love love love this salon now i see what all the rave reviews were about im a forever customer.

Jhavuanna did an amazing job with my hair. I was always skeptical about straightening my natural hair, but finally decided in taking a leap & trying something new. Jhavuanna put me at ease and made me feel comfortable with trusting her with my hair. She’s very professional & knowledgable in her craft. I’m definitely going back!

I love what Jhavuanna has done to my hair! My appointment was for 2:30pm on a Sunday. She started at 2:38, fantastic! I was greeted with a warm smile and she asked me if I had a picture of exactly how I wanted my sew-​in done. Jhavuanna began braiding my hair with small, neat, braids and periodically checked in to make sure they weren’t too tight, they weren’t. She used a net to secure my hair and further lay a flat foundation for the sew-​in. Jhavuanna took her time to sew down my closure neatly, and not too tight. Within about 2.5−3 hours, my sew in was complete (closure and 2 bundles of hair), and definitely not rushed, she is just very experienced and can obviously do this with her eyes closed. Jhavuanna cut my hair with professional tools (i pay attention to things like this), into fringe bangs and soft layers around. Today i am at work with my new do and receiving compliments left and right. Yesterday was my first time meeting Jhavuanna and I must say it was a great experience, which doesn’t usually go hand in hand with visiting a hair salon on the weekend… Thank you Jhavuanna!

Jhavuanna was incredible! Just moved to the Bed Stuy area and was in need of a place that could do mixed hair in a pinch. Went to Jhavuanna just asking for a basic blow dry, hair trim, and heat style and I swear I walked out with so much more! I showed her a photo of the style I wanted which almost every other stylist has butchered over the years and she nailed it! She also gave great advice on ways to treat my hair based on what I was already using. Thanks Jhavuanna I’ll def be back!

Jhavuanna is truly a professional and an expert at what she does. She’s been my stylist for a little over 2 years and I can’t see myself going to anyone else. I completely trust her. I tried it all with Jhavuanna and she never disappoints; from a pixie to a bob she’s always made me look fabulous. I dyed my hair jet black a few months ago myself and then rinsed it a few times after. My hair was extremely dark. I came to Jhavuanna and wanted the impossible — honey blonde hair with light blonde highlights. I didn’t think it was possible however Jhavuanna was able to achieve the look I wanted. I’m extremely satisfied with her work. She is the consumate professional and a friend. I highly recommend her for all your stylist needs.

Jhavuanna is a one-​of-​a-​kind hair stylist and I trust her completely with my hair, which for someone picky like me is hard to do!
I’ve seen a lot of posts so far from ladies who have gone natural and get their hair done by Jhavuanna, so I’m sharing my experience as someone who can’t let go of the creamy-​crack (lol). I go to Jhavuanna for trims and when I’m ready to weave it up for protective styles (when I want to give my hair a break and let it grow).
Not only is she well trained and knowledgeable about all things hair, but she also goes the extra step by caring about what happens to my hair, which cannot be said about MANY stylists or salons in general here in NY. She will help me attain the look I want all while maintaining the utmost protection for my hair. She also meets me at an individual level and consults with me on the style (s) that look best for ME and cuts and shapes my hair that best frames my face and overall appearance. She listens and cares about my happiness as a customer, yet does not compromise her integrity or artistry with her A-​list flare and dazzles me every time my hair is done!
One other thing I like about Jhavuanna is that she educates me about my hair as I go along. When I want to try new things wity my hair, need help maintaining a weave or simply have questions on basic hair care, Jhavuanna always gives me the best advice, especially since I DO like to have my hair relaxed. :-) Thanks to her my hair stays strong, bouncy and full and never looks dead or limp.
Jhavuanna is the best and worth every penny! If you want to look fabulous and flawless with any mane –natural, relaxed, colored, full or partial weave — then Jhavuanna’s seat is where you need to be!

I’ve been a client of Vaunna’s for at least 4 years (and would follow her anywhere). I remember the first time she cut/​layered my hair, that’s when I got hooked on her. She’s amazing with a pair of scissors. I always felt uneasy with haircuts but she’s always made me feel at ease. She’s extremely professional, on time (I never have to wait to get started), caring and funny. No matter how far in between appointments, she always manages to pick up right where we left off.
For the last year, I’ve been transitioning from relaxed to natural and Vaunna has been with me each step of the way providing advice and giving me some much needed support. I could go on and on about her but I’ll end with, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND VAUNNA if you’re looking for a stylist.

I have been going to Jhavuanna for over 5 years and she is the BEST STYLIST that I’ve ever gone to. I will preface this review by saying that I am extremely picky about my hair. I have very fine hair which cannot take a lot of heat or chemicals without falling out. With Jhavuanna, I don’t have to worry about that. I just so happened to stumble upon Jhavuanna while trying out a salon in Brooklyn. There was something about her that I instantly knew that I could trust her with my hair! Well, my instinct was right and Jhavuanna has been blessing my hair ever since. As another person stated in their review, Jhavuanna is passionate about her craft. Doing hair is not just a job for her. She truly cares about your hair and making you look good and feel good when you leave her seat. She is always studying ways to stay innovative with new products and techniques and as a result, she can truly do it all… Flawless weaves that look like its growing from YOUR scalp, the cutest short hair styles, amazing color, awesome silk presses, and precision cutting… all while maintaining the health of your hair!!! She is so talented that she has even been able to help me maintain my short hairstyle while being natural (something that most stylists prefer not to do… in fact they’d prefer to push a perm down your throat). Hands down there is only one word to describe Jhavuanna and that is AMAZING!!! Oh, and I can’t forget to mention that she is also probably one of the nicest and most down-​to-​earth people that you will ever meet. Jhavuanna is a true blessing.

How is that someone can make tears come to my eyes with the way my hair looked. My hair was so damage before I went to her. I was actually ashamed. jhavuanna actually took her time to give me a thorough consultation and made me understand what I was doing wrong with my hair. My hair is currently a work in progress but I looks awesome. I will continue to fight for an appointment with her. She is so worth it, can’t wait to see her again.

I’ve been going to Jhavuanna over 4 years now and my hair never look better. She was introduced to me by a friend of my sister and we clicked. She cut my hair and did weaves for me. I always look like a million bucks. No matter what I ask for I always look 10 times better than any picture I bring in. I’m never disappointed when Jhavuanna does my hair. What I love about her is that she is sweet and down to earth, but is a genius – highly knowledgeable about all things hair! Even body hair as she is a skilled with wax as well.
She is a skilled master stylist and is the perfect blend of scientist and artist. Once she gets her hands in your hair, it’s like watching a ballerina float on air. She understands chemically how hair behaves, and the science to be able to manipulate it to do whatever she wants it to do. She understands all hair types, not just ethnic hair. She can give cornrows with intricate designs, two strand twist with ridiculous definition, give you the blowout of your life, correct a messed up color job or weave you up till you look like Beyoncé in the wind! She is just that damn good!
When I decided to go natural, she was supportive and taught me how to care for and style my hair with little to no heat damage.
When she does my weaves, they look natural! People literally compliment me on how long, thick and luxurious my hair is! Also her weaves allowed my natural hair to grow to mid-​back length!
Hair cuts! She cuts hair with a straight edge razor! Of course she finishes it off with her Japanese lefty shears, but she is like a butcher with her razor!
Jhavuanna is the truth! Seriously. Go to her for all of your hair needs, you will be glad you did.

I recently moved to New York, and was worried that I wouldn’t be able to find someone who could tame the beast that is my hair. Let me just say, Jhavuanna is a God Send!!! She has worked WONDERS on my hair.
My hair is growing and healthy, and feels and looks amazing for weeks after I leave her chair. Not only is she excellent with my hair, but she is also a joy to be around. She is sweet and funny, and just a genuinely great person. I really enjoy my appointments with her.

Well I have been going to this fabulous young lady since 2010, she was the 1^st person to give me a weave. well here it is 4 years later and im still letting her do my hair, her style, techniques are just amazing. Jhavuanna’s love and care she puts in to doing someone’s hair is like no other. When she does my hair and I step out into the world I walk down Eastern Parkway like I own it and cant nobody tell me nofin… yeap I said nofin… She is just an amazing hairdresser, If you don’t know you need to go and find out.
