— I enjoyed the backyard — our server had great recs — pretty much empty during lunch hours — i forgot what we had but all the food was solid — free chefs dessert(and extra too boot) was worth an extra half a star — I forgot what that was, but it was the most delicious sweetness I’ve had summer

Great: atmosphere, décor, staff, food(both flavors and variety), timely arrival of everything. Not-so-great: borderline outrageous prices for what you’re getting. $ 5 for a side of chicken sausage, which turned out to be just one link. $ 14 for a less-than-8-ounces Bloody Mary with sake. These are just two examples. Would give 4 stars, but the discrepancy between prices and what was great was worth the additional star. Sorry, guys.

Here is what I liked: Friendly wait staff Quality ingredients Clean and pleasant atmosphere Here is what I didn’t like too much: The prices were too high for everything, entrees, sides, drinks, coffee– but I guess premium for quality. Can’t say the food was outstanding in flavor for those prices. But the food tasted clean but a little bland. The menu was limited tho(for breakfast and lunch at least). Majority of the dishes were heavy with tortilla. I understand it’s Mexican food, but it’s a little much. It seemed like tortilla was the main star of each dish. I would’ve preferred more protein or of anything else than so much bread.

Went here on a not so busy Wednesday evening and it was fabulous! The food was delicious(the mussels, the burger and the pork belly were all well received by the dinner group) and we even got an Amuse-Bouche from the chef! Like I said, there weren’t many people in that night(it’s usually packed when we’ve walked by for brunch… which has always turned us away), but the wait staff wasn’t overly attentive, which was really nice. The price was a great for the quality of food and the ambiance is lovely.

Inspired, moderately priced entrees. Attentive but not overbearing service. Excellent wine pairings. Great atmosphere. Wanted to try a new place in the neighborhood and boy am I glad we check this place out. Highly recommend the pork with raviolis. These food Pabloni was an original dish as well. $ 109 + tip for 2 ppl with apps, main clouds and drinks. I’ll definitely be returning to this place

Best steak and eggs that I’ve ever had, thus far. with a complimentary pancake for an appetizer. We also had the French Omelette… this place really takes special preparation in their eggs. light, fluffy and seasoned well. Reason for 4 stars and not a 5(downside): It isn’t courteous to bring the check at the end of the meal until the patron asks for it. Maybe this establishment should be trained in this area.

I seldom give 4 or 5 stars but Juventino is an exception. Their service is top notch. The food here is second to none. The food is fresh and refreshing. There’s a reason they open at 10am; its the prep. Juventino is out to impress, and impress they do.

Absolutely smashing breakfast at Juventino. From service, décor to food. Everything was impressive. I love the décor, if you like books and wine you’d love sitting there. Very clean and refreshing. The service was 5* our waitress was really sweet and patient. As it was my first time eating Mexican breakfast I wasn’t sure what I wanted to eat but she explained everything to me with patience and awesome attitude. From the coffee to dessert I was so amazed. Coffee was strong and bold. I think they use a french press. We ordered a couple of dishes(pictures below) and I loved that the Chef serves this tasty free appetizer with Breakfast. Dessert was heaven —Hot Chocolate cake with Fresh Strawberries and Whipp. Yum. Follow me @nycfoodiediary on instagram.

Came here for brunch on a friend’s recommendation. The décor and atmosphere were delightful as was the coffee(it’s french press) and their menus are seasonal and super cute(pictures of the skyline with floats from the Macy’s Day parade). The food was just okay. I wasn’t really wowed by anything I had, but they do offer options you may not find elsewhere(beef tongue, anyone?) I dislike that nearly everything that would normally be a given with meals elsewhere is extra here. We paid $ 5 for a biscuit. Yes, one biscuit and a tiny ramekin of jam. The biscuit was on the larger side and was delicious, but not worth the money. If you’re counting pennies, then I’d skip this place, but if money is no option, you’ll want to try it out. The outdoor garden area looks like it would be divine in the warmer months. I’d try dinner here, but wouldn’t go out of my way to do so.

This restaurant was fantastic. We were treated very well! We were treated to multiple complimentary items: sparkling wine, bread, goat cheese, taro chips and garlic spread, and small chicken wing with squash purée tasting! All items were delicious. All of the food we actually ordered was very good too. Our table favorite was the Cod. The staff were very attentive and nice. We will all definitely be returning!

The food warrants 4.5 stars but the atmosphere is why I drop stars. The servers don’t seem very happy and like a previous poster mentioned the owner is extremely rude. It’s also not a very family friendly restaurant Then again going back to the food … The brioche egg sandwich is right on the money! Pancake — yes it’s just a pancake but it’s soooooo good . Hope they do something to make guests feel more welcome.

OWNERTREATSYOULIKECRAP! I had a wonderful experience my first time here, but all that changed after my interaction with the PRETENTIOUSOWNER. The fiancé and I came Park Slope to have brunch as a surprise for me since I have been really wanting to come back here. We arrived in the area and parking was a nightmare. After almost an hour of searching, we decided that maybe I can just order what I wanted to-go and be on our way. I called about 10 minutes before 12pm and spoke with a nice girl who told me that I would have to wait about 20 minutes for the food to be ready for pick up because it was busy — asked the fiancé and he was ok with it so we sat double parked around the corner. She did not take down my name or number(which I thought odd), but didn’t think more of it. So we waited and around 1:15ish(more than 20 min), I hopped out of the car and headed to the place. I was so excited to finally get the pork belly again! I get inside and walk up to the counter. I asked a girl about an order for pick up. She said«oh ok let me check for you.» A busboy walks by, I go to move out of his way and he smiles. So far so good. Then as I am standing there, a larger Hispanic man with glasses and a button down shirt approaches me and asks if he can help me(who I now found out is the OWNER after reading other Unilocal reviews).I let him know someone was already helping me and that I was here for an order for pick up — to which he replies«we don’t do pick-ups.» Then he walks away. At this point, I am confused. While I am still standing there, the busboy from earlier told me «it’ll be right out.» I’m thinking ok awesome! Then another girl walks up to me(presumably the girl who took my order) and tells me that they don’t do pick-ups. She apologized for not having my number to call me back and repeats that they do not do pick ups. I am confused again. I reiterated the conversation we had in which she told me to wait 20 minutes(i waited longer) and how I would have left the area had she mentioned they didn’t do pick-ups. I ask to speak to a manager. She hesitates. I stand there and tell her that I will still need to speak to a manager. I see the girl go to owner and the girl who originally told me she would check on my order. Original girl approaches me. Tells me the same deal — apologizes, says they don’t do pick-ups — she is supposed to be the manager.(Just saying — if she was the manager, I think she would know the policies and not have to ask someone else and would’ve told me during our first interaction). Ok so I see these 3 talking near the kitchen then walk into the kitchen and then come back out. Large Hispanic man approaches me again and asks me if I spoke with the manager. Not sure what kind of game this guy is playing, but HESAW me speaking with the girl he sent over(original girl). He proceeds to tell me there’s nothing he can do for me. They don’t do pick-ups on the weekends because it gets too busy. «There’s nothing I can do for you, but tell you that I’m probably going to fire that girl after you leave because of this interaction right here(does hand/finger pointing at the 2 of us).» He tells me she’s new and has only been working for a week and that she should have known the policy about no pick-up orders on the weekend. – a side note about this type of management — if this girl was indeed in her first week, she might not have worked a weekend day which means that she might have just forgotten with everything that she had to know. Granted, ANYONE taking an order should realize to get a name and phone number, but she didn’t — fine whatever, everyone makes mistakes, but to put him firing her on me? No, that is on YOU. If YOU were the one who did her training, you must not have been a good teacher or if someone else did, maybe they did not put emphasis on it. Either way, she deserved a break for her first week. YOU as a «whatever you are,» are a bad manager if something like this makes you fire someone. You are not running a Michelin Star fancy restaurant and she did not kill anyone(i said none of this out loud). So I tell him what I told everyone else about how long I had waited and that I would not have stayed if I had known. Again — he tells me «there’s nothing I can do for you» but then he adds«I can bring her right here and fire her in front of you if that is what you want.» No mother effer — I wanted my food that someone said would be right out. They must have plated it to someone else. He proceeds to tell me that there have been patrons waiting over 45 minutes for their food so he was not going to get me anything and if I wanted it, I would have to wait over 45 minutes. WOW. Seems like a recurring issue so maybe find a better system to handle the food production. NEVERONCEAPOLOGIZED. FIRINGSOMEONEFORINCONVENIENCINGHIM. I was so angry, I almost couldn’t contain myself and left WITHOUTFOOD at least 45 minutes after I placed the order. Food & Staff good — OWNERSUCKS!

New favorite place! They start with the best«bread basket» you’ve ever had: crostini with goat cheese, homemade taro chips and warm garlic(remember: you can always judge a restaurant by its bread basket). We also got a free course — codfish, sweet potato purée and olive oil. Fresh and amazing. As for what we paid for: scallop appetizer with butternut squash purée, roasted chicken with sweet potato gratin, and lamp chops with tortillas and spicy tomato something. The chicken dish had these pickled carrots that were overpowering and unnecessary, but otherwise everything was incredible. They also have outdoor seating in a gorgeous garden. I will definitely be back for brunch. And more dinner. And probably more brunch.

4 stars because they simply make the simple foods great. I got the biscuits and gravy, biscuit with cinnamon apples and mac and cheese. Starting off, the biscuits and cinnamon apples was a very balanced treat. Biscuits were just right, not too salty, with a nice crisp to it while its still hot. The cinnamon apples has a natural sweetness that doesn’t leave a very sugary taste in your mouth. When you break it into bits and pair it with the cinnamon apples, you’ll realize it’s a breakfast combination you’ve been missing all your life. Next, came more biscuits! When I first received it, I was actually quite disappointed. It was 3 biscuits, what looked like a plain salad and a small pot of gravy. But when you pour the gravy over the biscuits with the pork falling out of it, you’ll realize there is more than what meets the eye. The gravy is different from your traditional thanksgiving. Its taste light, almost like a warm salad dressing. The little bits of pork found inside the gravy also adds a bit of flavor with each bite. The salad was also quite different. Although it felt salty, I found myself wishing there was more of this salad after each bite. Lastly, the mac and cheese. You will receive a decent sized bowl which will definitely suffice as a meal. Unlike the other items I’ve had, this did not taste quite special. No inventive combinations of flavors. No special ingredients. Just plain old mac and cheese. I would not get again unless I was truly craving for it. I came here on a Saturday at 2pm. Surprisingly, it was not crowded so we were seated immediately. Although the interior is quite spacious, so you don’t feel cramped like other brunch places. There’s also a garden in the back which I would imagine to be quite refreshing and peaceful. Ultimately, service was great. I will definitely be back for more biscuits!

I went there on a first date during their summer special when they had $ 1 oysters from a dozen different regions, my date taught me the great tastes of raw oysters now we often go on fresh & yummy oyster hunts together! We had a full course there, appetizers were very impressive, and their lamb racks! Were some of the best things in Park Slope. The staff were so attentive and nice, so much effort were put into serving us, go on a weekday night if you are thinking about a date, it’s quiet and relaxing. I’d love to go back.

I came here with my parents for Father’s Day brunch. I wanted to sit in the garden, but unfortunately on Saturday, it was rainy and cloudy. Inside was still cute. I made a reservation, but still had to wait but the wait wasn’t long. I ordered the pork belly, my mom ordered the duck salad, my dad ordered the French toast and we shared the beet salad. Everything was delicious. The duck salad and pork belly were savory and tasty. I would definitely order both again. I think this place adds a little Asian fusion to their dishes.

Juventino dishes out many respectful plates; the presentation is stellar– they treat it like full-fledged entrée dishes. The wait was approximately 30 minutes, not particularly long considering it was a 1.5 hr wait at the nearby Stonepark Café. I ordered shrimp with poached eggs on a bed of polenta & a side of chicken sausage. My plate was a work of art; it was photogenic, and you can bet your fries that I snapped a shot even though it didn’t do it justice. The two large prawns were absolutely divine; they were cooked to perfection, and lightly seasoned as not to overpower the fresh seafood. If not for the extra heap of meat on the side, I would not have been full. Everything was on the smaller side here so as enticing as the food art was, $ 30 will not suffice by any definition of the word, ‘hearty.’ Also, as it was brunch, I needed a shot, sorry, glass of mimosa to complement my meal. They gave more champagne than could fill one glass. It was a generous offering of extra booze, but they didn’t supply enough orange juice for the refill. I loved the country feel of the décor and the modern take on the food; I wish the portion sizes lived up to the rest of the well-deserved hype.

Super cute, hip, and warm place(figuratively — yet also literally — it was super warm while it was 25 degrees out). Came here for Saturday brunch and the wait at 12:30 wasn’t bad at all — maybe 15 minutes max. French press coffee is a must(a large is $ 9 and makes exactly 3 cups). The truffled eggs(not too overwhleming with the truffles) and huarache were great. Also had the mac & cheese but not impressed with that — it was a bit oily.

Warning: My review is only valid for brunch as I’ve never frequented this location for any other meal. Park Slope has a slew of decent mom and pop eateries and a small handful of delicious, inventive restaurants. Juventino is definitely the latter. A Michelin-recommended restaurant, Juventino serves an interesting blend of Mexican, American and British fare. And it’s all quite lovely. In the mood for sweet? Go for the pancakes. They’re fluffy and decadent. Simple enough. Is a savory dish more appealing? Then you will surely want to try the Huaraches de Carne. This bad boy is a thick corn tortilla layered with crushed black beans, topped with arugula, goat cheese, oaxaca cheese, chipotle and a delicious braised chicken in a spicy tinga sauce. It is superb! I also recommend the mimosas. They oddly provide enough bubbly for almost 2 glasses of fizzy happiness. I’m partial to the Passion Fruit. Other highlights include the shrimp and polenta, the baked eggs and the fabulous biscuits with sausage espelette gravy. Yum!
