Under new management, sucks. Used to love dancing at this place. Came here for my bday last year and they gave me a free bottle of champagne. Went back this year thinking it’d be the same fun dance party vibe, instead there were literally three people there. Note that on weekends this place used to be packed. I got a free beer, and then got chewed out by a bartender when we left and«only had one beer»…because the place f***ing sucked. Sorry, I’m not going to stay around and buy drinks at this empty bar to make you feel better.

NOLONGERTHESAME K&M. UNDERNEWMANAGEMENT! I read the reviews on Unilocal and was really exited to check out this place. I had heard that by midnight it becomes and awesome/packed dance party. FALSE. Apparently, as of a few weeks ago, the bar is under new management and they have made some big changes: –It is now a sports bar(or attempting to be) –there are no more dance parties — there are no more up and coming DJs Basically, if you like a quite sports bar this is for you but it is not the place to dance to your favorite music. Last night the DJ only played Motown for 2+ hours…

K&M has the cool«no sign» exterior. As per hip Williamsburg the dudes has either a wool cap on, abundant facial hair and a smirk. The ladies wear all black, or 6 inch heels or 3 colors of hair. The bar is pretty large, there’s a ton of seating, the DJ doesn’t take himself too seriously, and the dance floor is big enough.

Wasn’t all that impressed with K&M Bar. Drinks were cheap and the music was decent… They threw some oldies in there and a couple awesome throwbacks, which made it fun at times. I wasn’t crazy about the crowd. Not a very friendly atmosphere. People really just keep to themselves. I wouldn’t go back.

10/31/2004** was the last time I had a beer bong. That is, until we realized K&M has a beer bong offer you can’t refuse. Beers are usually $ 3(cheap), but if you bong it, it’s $ 2. Luckily, bongs are like riding a bike in that you never forget how to do it. Beyond the bongs, the bartenders here are awesome and the outdoor area is nice when it’s not freezing. — — — — — **On 10/31/2004 I created the ‘152.’ This consisted of a beer bong full of Natty Light, topped off with a shot of 151 rum. This night is why I stayed away from bonging for eight years.

This place is amazing. It’s no frills when it comes to deco but when it came to the dj it was perfection. A fabulous combination, if you ask me. The place is spacious, the people are dancing and the line at the bar moves quickly. We went here late-night-ish and closed the place down moving to Robyn. At 3am we said if the next song doesn’t rock we’ll get food. It was after 4 when we left for food. Mainly because we were hungry and not so much because there was ever a bad song played. I like that this place embraces the music we want to dance to and does not try to be hipster about it.

I’m a shit dancer. Like, a really shit dancer. So when I go dancing I want to go somewhere no one will judge me. K&M meets this criteria. The bar is pretty large, there’s a ton of seating, the DJ doesn’t take himself too seriously, and the dance floor is big enough that my karate-chop dance moves rarely injure anyone. Pro tip: the ladies room is a disaster, but you’ll be drunk enough that you won’t notice or care.

We started off our night of williamsburg barhopping from here, it’s a cute place with 2 outdoor café kinda of seatings, once you get in there’s semi spacious dance floor extending all the way to the back, to your left is the full bar. we started of w shots and beers, didn’t try cocktails but it’s full bar, i supposed the cocktails should be good. It was saturday nite, relatively young hippie crowd, mostly pop and hiphop musics w people dancing on the sticky floor. we stayed shortly and head out to another bar. Overall, it’s not my kinda scene, but ok for couple of drinks and watch people showing their moves on the floor. Cash only place!

What the what?! Dance. Killer dance music sets this bar apart from the norm in Williamsburg. As far as I’m concerned, the less hipsteresque a place is in this neighborhood the better. There is quite a crowd, so expect to be crammed in — but it’s well worth it for the tune selection, not to mention the decently priced drinks. Although, they could use to purchase an air conditioner. I’d pay an extra dollar a drink for that fund.

«This is How We Do It» — Montell Jordan «Regulators» — Warren G «When I Come Around» — Green Day «Stay» — Lisa Loeb That playlist sounds soooo coooool and un-hip! And I love it because K & M is not trying to be so hipster and cutting edge. This place is clean. I am reviewing K & M Bar as a venue, rather than a place to spend my Friday night or the local watering hole. I never knew it existed before and I certainly would not have gone out of my way for it, if not for my friend’s party. The bar said we could have the back space for three hours until the band showed up. We had quite a few tables and it worked out perfectly because we had a large party that pretty much filled the bar and we even had a pizza party. They let us bring in outside food and we also livened up things a bit with a piñata. The bar has a movie screen and we were able to play our own dvd for a backdrop. Earlier in the day the tv was on. This is a good place to watch sports. The bar has cheap beer, beer on tap, and pretty much anything else you want. It’s a bit of a dive but just is. Music was 80’s and once the band stepped in it was early 90’s. The band was interesting. Giant bass and they rocked covers and 90’s tunes. There is outdoor seating and tables in front. This was great as towards the end of the night, fresh air was needed since M & K Bar did get crowded. Hosting large parties does not come easy in NYC. K & M Bar was perfect. I also dig the old pierogi sign. It’s what Williamsburg once was before the neighborhood went. P. S.- Crif Dogs is a block up.

can’t believe i haven’t reviewed k&m yet 95% of the time i have an awesome time here. usually a fun ass, drunk dance party there are some off nights like anywhere but a divey bar with cheap drinks and usually some sick throwback hip hop jams(tupac ‘all eyez on me’ last night) but they get an extra star for me because i left my sweatshirt there last night and picked it up today unharmed.(minus a half star cause their phone number doesn’t go anywhere though)

About the coolest thing about this place is the sign over the door, which is so kitchy cool cause it’s left over from some bygone era, it’s former identity that of a Pierogi Plant. There’s also a huge screen playing some odd movie… oh and did I mention the $ 5 Tecate & Tequilla special? Or the taco specials? Somehow these went round and round and we spent $ 75. But hey you only live 2011 Independence day once!

This was the second stop on my Friday night bar crawl through Williamsburg(avoiding Bedford Ave and Metropolitan Ave). This is a really cool low-key dive bar that was not crowded after 10pm. I was chilling with a K & M Amber($ 3) and a Blue Point Spring Fling Ale($ 5). There was also a real DJ playing dance music and there plenty of seating available and a nice floor space if you were inclined to dance. The one bad thing about this place is the grimy bathrooms. There is graffiti everywhere, even on the hand dryer, and there are missing toilet seats and a lack of soap. So remember to bring your own hand sanitizer. Actually, I would recommend(especially if you are a woman) walking 400 ft down the block and using the restroom at Brooklyn Winery. Ladies, you can thank me later for that tip.

5 Stars for me may be different than other posts. As a live performer and on the side, I DJ regularly at many of BK’s great fun bars, I’m yet to have a bad time at K&M Bar. I Dj there on Tuesday nights with the sounds of Lazer/Future Funk, Beat Culture, and original 80’s hiphop/r&B/disco sounds and have even squeezed in some very flavorful soulful dubstep. The sound system bumps and is CRISP, great seating, perfect space for dancing, low lit, huge projection screen, and a great crowd. My next joint there is Tuesday March 8th. Come see the spot for yourself. The Bartender there, Femi… mad cool. Funny as hell! It’s nice to have a bartender that doesn’t make you wait, gives cool convo, makes you laugh and can serve up an honest good drink.

I was dreadfully unimpressed and would’ve given this place only one star but my husband convinced me to give it 2 stars because he liked it. This place was just trying way too hard to be cool yet unassuming and nonchalant. It seemed pretty fake and too varied.

If I ever beg to go here after 2 am, please squeeze me into a straightjacket and do not UNDERANYCIRCUMSTANCES, let me drink 5 Hour Energy. If you want to know what a recipe for disaster is, it’s late night K & M plus the Niacin Flush. :shudder:

I went there on a Thursday night and the bartender discriminated against me and my coworkers. FYI, we were dressed in suits, slacks, sport jackets, and button down shirts coming back from a funeral. I stood there for 25 minutes the bartender looked at me and and refused to serve us. I then politley brought it too his attention and he totally ignored me. Than I had to mention I was with the NY times and than he decided to serve us two free rounds. He had a group of friends who were sitting on the side and they clearly said«Oh these people should go home, this is not there scene». Some girl from the bartenders group threw her drink on me and chucked her glass. I was very heartbroken and never in a million years thought I would be discriminated against just because of what i was wearing. I called 911 to file a harrassment report.
