Dr. Kofinas, Dr. Nguyen, the nurses and staff at Kofinas Perinatal are INCREDIBLE! They are kind, caring, professional, and above all they care about their patients.
They navigated a high risk pregnancy with close attention and they addressed several issues through the course of my pregnancy that could have resulted in the loss of my pregnancy. They were ALWAYS thoughtful in their interactions with me and clear and concise in the information they gave me.
The front desk staff knew me by name and always put a smile on my face! It may not have seemed like a big deed to them, but by reacting so genuinely and happily to me when I walked in, they set the course for a happy appointment every time. This means a lot to someone who has so many concerns and stresses in their pregnancy; their kindness always served as a reminder to smile and be thankful that I was in good hands.
The nurses and staff (who I got to know so well over the course of my pregnancy) always went above and beyond to form a relationship with me (and all their patients). They made sure to talk me through what I was seeing on the sonograms and point out exciting milestones or images («Look! Your baby is sucking it’s thumb» or «The baby’s heartbeat is strong.»). Things like that remind a person in a high risk pregnancy to relish the small moments and appreciate the journey. Over the course of my pregnancy, I came to look forward to seeing these ladies, to joking and laughing with them, and to hearing about their lives as well. When I ultimately had to have an emergency c-​section (more on that later), these ladies reacted just as they should («You get to meet your baby today! This is so exciting!»), with optimism rather than an alarmist tone. These are also the same ladies who made sure to visit me and my baby in the hospital the day after he was born. They genuinely cared about me and my baby.
Dr. Nguyen was my primary doctor, and I saw Dr. Kofinas at specific points throughout the pregnancy. Both doctors were completely professional and kept me and my husband well-​informed. They were open and honest about the things going on during the pregnancy and the health of my baby. When issues arose during the pregnancy (and we knew they would due to the nature of a condition I have) they reacted quickly and appropriately.
Just over three weeks prior to my due date, it became necessary to have an emergency c-​section. Both doctors gave me very clear information and their reasons for making the decision. They did not make this decision lightly, and approached it with the utmost concern for my baby’s safety as well as my own. The result: I now have a healthy and happy two month old baby boy! Also of note, he scored a ⁹⁄₉ on his APGAR which is a testament to how well they cared for him in utero considering he was born over 3 weeks early.
Bottom line: if you have a high risk pregnancy, the staff, nurses and doctors at Kofinas perinatal will take care of you and your baby as if you were family.

I cannot say enough about my experience thus far with both Dr. Alexander Kofinas and Dr. Nguyen. I feel strongly that I am receiving excellent care and that all my questions have been answered fully. The support staff, as well as, the doctors have gone above and beyond to make sure that my twins receive the best possible care. I would strongly recommend Kofinas Perinatal to anyone who is in the midst of a high-​risk pregnancy.

Dr. Kofinas is a wonderful doctor. I was first treated by his brother, Dr. George Kofinas, and, once I was 8 weeks pregnant, began seeing Dr. Alexander Kofinas regularly every two weeks. He and his team are extremely professional, respectful, and knowledgable. I am always treated with sensitivity and respect, and am able to have all of my questions answered without judgment — even the banal questions that I know only come from someone on her first pregnancy. Dr. Kofinas is very serious about his practice and treatment of his patients; he is meticulous and genuinely concerned about your pregnancy and its success. His staff is just as detail-​oriented as he is, and every ultrasound is very thorough and precise. I love every visit with Dr. Kofinas and always leave feeling more confident about my pregnancy. A high-​risk pregnancy can be scary and nerve-​racking, and I feel blessed that I found a doctor whom I trust and respect to guide me and help quell any anxieties I may have. I highly recommend Kofinas Perinatal to anyone with a high-​risk pregnancy.
