Sanjeeva Velpula MD

Dr. Velpula is experienced and professional. As some others have pointed out, you might have to wait to see him. I didn’t mind waiting to see my O.B. because I knew he was attending to other mothers in labor or with emergencies. The receptionists always kept me posted as to the situation and when I really needed him, he was there for me.
During visits he answered all of my questions and eased my concerns. He read my birth plan and when it came time, followed it to a T. When I arrived at the hospital, his office had already pre-​registered me at the hospital, so I had no forms to fill out. My birth was calm and relaxed and the nurse remarked how nice it was that I had Dr. Velpula because he doesn’t rush his patients. Overall, I would highly recommend Dr. Velpula.

Horrible horrible horrible experience. I saw hi a few times at the Plaza Street location, always had to wait over two hours and always mixed me up with other patients. Never got the sense he was fully listening to me or understood what my issues were. Ended up prescribing too much of a med and I had a reaction. When I asked him about it he didn’t’ even seem to remember doing it. Avoid.

After making us sit in a waiting room for close to 2 hours, Dr. Velpula saw us for five minutes in which he made no eye contact with us. He then left us to wait another half hour before barging back in to examine my wife. When he asked my wife questions about her body, he didn’t let her respond. He didn’t answer our questions, instead telling us to research on line. And finally we waited with him for twenty minutes, so he could figure out how to print a referral.
We will not be returning to Dr. Velpula.

Dr. Velpula is extremely professional. He knows what he’s doing and has a vast experience. The time you spend in the waiting room does not really have anything to do with him personally. That is usually the fault of overbooking. He is not someone that is extremely bubbly and cheerful. That is not his personality. He has always answered any question that I’ve had kindly, no matter how stupid the question was. I’m not sure what the other people were expecting — he’s a doctor, not a kindergarten teacher.

Very nice doctor. I felt comfortable. Professional what is the most important
