Pros: Huge selection of wine/liquor. Major plus: They stock Yellow Tail Bubbles. If you haven’t given this champagne a try, I suggest you do so immediately(unless you hate life. And champagne). It’s only $ 10(with tax) and it comes with a resealable cork(just in case you want to lie to yourself over the assumption that you WON’T finish the entire bottle in one sitting. Cons: #1: The dude that works the liquor counter(they also have a lotto counter) will generally take approximately 5 – 10 minutes to finish what he was previously doing before you entered the store(talking on his phone, checking out something seemingly super fascinating on his iPad) before helping you. Plan on waiting. Sidebar: I once went in here and was waiting in line behind a man who got very riled up over this. The man(who had a very large tattoo on his face) began threatening to «pop a cap» if someone didn’t stop playing around on his iPad and get him his«sh*t. This didn’t do much to get the guy behind the counter moving. I guess that’s why the place is ensconced in bullet-proof glass. #2: 4 out of 5 times, the champagne I buy explodes when I get it home.(Do they shake it up in the back before they bring it out?) Overall: Great prices and convenience outweigh the slow service and sometimes questionable clientele.

I can’t say the first thing I’m looking for in a shopping experience is wrap around bullet-proof glass, but when it comes down to it Liquor Town serves its purpose quite well, so four stars! Their layout makes it easy for you to see most of their selection; since you can’t actually get to anything yourself and all. If you’re having trouble finding something they can usually spot it for you in under 4 seconds, I swear they have the entire inventory memorized. They have a pretty wide selection for a small shop, ranging from the tiny pocket bottles-a favorite amongst those folks who somehow lose a shoe on the street-to the higher quality stuff in a range of sizes. The prices seem to be on point for what they sell. I’ve always found the guys who run it polite and helpful, though are likely to run into some of the more unsavory members of the community while browsing, since I think its the only liquor store in the area. There are lots of places nearby that come up under the Beer/Wine/Spirits category on Unilocal, but as far as I know this is the only one that actually has liquor.
