Luxeye Optical

Again we had an outstanding experience. I implore any parents looking stand out amazing treatment for your wee ones (well my 10 year old so not so wee) go here. From start to end it was amazing!!!

Luxeye was fantastic in orchestrating a complicated order I had. After finding a pair of glasses in the store that I liked, I searched online and found the same frames in a different color. I asked if Luxeye could order them for me and they happily obliged. A few weeks later we found out the company in England had changed factories and all of their orders were on backorder. Tracy was instrumental in placing the order and keeping on track of it every two weeks. Tracy followed up with me each time letting me know of the updated estimated shipping date. She was fantastic and I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Very impressed with the thoroughness and professionalism of Dr. Aoyagi (even though I favor fellow Cal alums). Came in with problems of seeing close, and Dr. Aoyagi discovered that the strength of my prescription was too strong.
The staff excels as well. Great care and thought into the price points that I could afford. They can work with your insurance to get what you need.
Definitely found my optometrist!

This has been my best experience at an optical, ever! I have been to a few mom & pop’s retailer that charge an extra $ 100 over retail or more for their frames. I’ve also been to a few mass retail opticals which were fine with the exception the I feel that they try to sell you options that you may not need and are extremely competitive with their co-​workers to get you to purchase frames and add-​on that may not be necessary. This is the case for me since I only really use glasses due to long hours in front of my computer screen.
Back to my experience at Luxe Eye Optical, they set me up with an appointment the next day. I went in a few minutes earlier than my scheduled time, registered with the girls at the front and they adjusted my sunnies and cleaned them while I waited for my appointment time. I was called in exactly at my appointment time. The optician was extremely down to earth but professional. She asked about my optical history and explained every part of the exam along the way.
I picked out my frames (already had set my eyes on a specific pair of Chanel’s) they had a nice selection of high end brands to choose from such as Tom Ford, Chanel, Dior, Ray Ban, Persol and Celine. They also carry frames that are budget friendly but still very nice looking.
I took longer than I had expected when it was time to choose frames because I became distracted with a pair of frames in the window and couldn’t make up my mind. They didn’t pressure me and gave me all the time I needed before I finally made my final decision. I opted for Crizal lenses but had I not, the lenses would have been ready in an hour or two. I returned in two days and my frames were ready, just as they told me they would be!
Overall the whole process was easy and fast, I was also able to use my insurance here and my flex pay card as well.

The staff here are fantastic, the service is great. Nothing is too much trouble for them. They kept us informed about when the prescription glasses would be ready and were very helpful and professional.

Excellent service here. I broke my glasses, took them in here and they fixed them in 20 minutes and did it for free! Amazing.

Omigosh this place is the bomb for eyewear! I got Dita and Chanel glasses from Kim. Kim was super helpful, friendly and I couldn’t have got better service. She listen to what I wanted and really cared. She was very skilled and knew everything about every product. Next time I’m in Williamsburg I’m coming back for more! I love my new glasses!!!

I had a eye exam today but it was what they did the day before that started an incredible experience. I had a contact lense rip and ran into to see if they had my prescription in stock. No problem! Gave me one to hold me over til my FIRST appointment the next day.
Once in for the appointment, the doctor was very friendly and informative… explaining in a very understanding manner each and everything she was doing. I cant applaude her enough for her civility and patience.

I’ve been wearing glasses and contacts since fifth grade and I can honestly say this is one of the best eye exams I’ve ever had. Dr. Aoyagi was friendly and thorough, explaining the entire process. Sure I’ve had dozens of eye exams before but it always makes you feel better to be informed and feel involved in your own health, rather than just be treated like another sepcimen. The entire staff was helpful and cheerful from the the first phone call until I walked out the door. Very pleased. I would recommend Luxeye to anyone.

I was looking for an affordable same-​day eye exam, and I found Luxeye via google. I called to make an appointment, walked in thirty minutes later, and was greeted by a courteous staff. My eye exam (for glasses and contact lenses) was the most thorough, educational exam I’ve ever had. (Thank you, Dr. Aoyagi.) I was about to walk out with my prescriptions in hand and purchase contact lenses and glasses online, and one of the sales associates mentioned that they would match any price AND fill out the paperwork for a rebate. Done and done: I ordered my contact lenses on the spot, and then tried on a bunch of glasses. I’m still undecided about the frames, but I would like to give them my business. Highly recommended.

Came in to get the nose pad on my spectacles reattached. Everyone was pleasant and they fixed it in 10 minutes for free!

Great service here … above and beyond.
First of all I have found Dr. Aoyagi to be thorough and very patient as we tried a few contact lens prescriptions to find the best fit.
The staff have always been helpful and competent.
Why do I say «above and beyond»?
On a visit in mid-​December I had a frustrating moment with one of those limitations-​of-​insurance coverage things. Insurers do seem experts at creating convoluted conditions to shave benefits, but that’s another story. Bottom line here, the staff at Luxeye worked with me to work out a satisfactory pricing for my contacts and glasses.
Then, at the end of a long day, because I was getting contacts fitted but came in wearing glasses, I accidentally left the glasses at the opticians on a day when the weather was just too bad to bike back there.
When I called to confirm the glasses were there, the manager must have heard my dismay. She called back a few minutes later and offered to drop off my glasses on her way home after the shop closed, which she did.
I’m not promising if you leave your glasses they will deliver them every time, but this kind of ‘above and beyond’ service gets big points in my book.

Friendly staff and doctors! Pricey but worth it, they had my contacts ready the next day and they delivered them! Love my Celine eyeglasses they are a little strong but I’m sure this will be fixed. Highly recommend them.

I have made an appointment before I visit them. When I get there, I am greeted by Joanne courtesy. After I wait for about three minutes, I am greeted by O. D. Aoyagi. She is friendly and knowledgeable. When I pay for the service I receive, I ask them about insurance, Julissa is also friendly and knowledgeable to my concern. On the other hand, that will be great if they accept more visual/​medical insurance carriers. I recommend them to you.

I really appreciate luxeye. They always deliver on time and with a super customer-​friendly demeanor.

I don’t normally leave reviews but this place definitely deserves another amazing one.
ALL of the employees are phenomenal. I walked in just to browse and ended up trying on a couple new frames. One employee recommended some great frames for me and another set up an eye exam for me for the same day (the ophthalmologist is hilarious by the way). After my exam, I had dinner with a friend to kill time while my glasses were being made.
The entire process took about 2 hours, which is astounding. They even tuned up my old eyeglasses (which are from Warby Parker and clearly not carried at their shop) for free! My experience here was truly amazing and I know I will be heading back there very very soon.

Dr. Aoyagi is great! I’m usually not a fan of docs in eyeglass shops, but she is thoughtful and reasonable. She actually saved me money by recommending less expensive (and more comfortable) contacts. I had the shop replace the lenses on an older pair of glasses for less than another shop quoted (still more than getting a new pair of cheaper specs, but these are the most comfortable glasses I’ve ever owned).
They also got pretty close to matching a contact lens deal I found online. Overall, way better than any of the eyeglass shops I dealt with in Manhattan.
