My husband and I have some tax complexities — have to file in multiple states, home office deductions, freelance work, etc — and the process of getting our taxes prepared has always been a time consuming NIGHTMARE. I found OG Tax and Accounting Group on Unilocal and was impressed with the reviews, but figured that the experience would be more or less the same as we have had for the past ten years with multiple accountants. I could not have been more wrong! Oleg and his team made everything super easy, and after just two quick meetings and a few questions are taxes were filed. No hassle, no problems, no whoops, no ummm, by the way… just fast, smart, efficient, affordable service. I also found this place on Unilocal and ended up going here because Jen at the front desk was so personable on the phone. I usually do my own taxes but this year they were sort of complicated (freelancing can get complicated) and everyone that I was reaching out to was like $ 800 + an hourly rate and that seemed terrifying. I requested a quote from them and they got back to me quickly and their rates seemed to make sense to me. I also was a little weirded out by the location but then totally reassured when I got into the office. He is fast and knowledgeable and also an enjoyable human being! I walked out with my taxes done and knowing exactly what to do for next year. And good advice about retirement planning! I am so relieved and will definitely go back next year.

After several negative experiences with other accountants, I’m so glad I found Oleg. He takes the time to review all of our tax info with us and discuss everything in detail so that we are aware of our options and responsibilities. One specific benefit of working with Oleg is his knowledge of multiple state tax codes. Each year I am required to file returns in multiple states, and Oleg handles those with out any issue. His rates are fair, and he is always available when we need to meet with him. And his turnaround time during tax season is very reasonable for someone giving the level of attention that he does.

Oleg is great! Jen in the office is also really nice and helps keep you busy while you wait. It’s tax season and he’s incredibly busy, but you don’t feel rushed at all.
The office is easy to find if you listen to Jen’s instructions. There is no reason to be ‘afraid’ of the car wash and mattress store.

YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED! believe me !! honestly i hate to do my tax return because i dont know anything about accounting and numbers. i went to H&R block past year and just it was ok. but i moved to brooklyn recently and i was looking for a tax service near my home. i came here and found OLEG !!! i really trusted on reviews and why i am writing a review now! i cant be happier! he is a real gentleman! kind patient and professional. he knows everything about tax and he file your tax as soon as possible. you dont need to stay there for a long time! i made a mistake and didnt have one of my forms and i had to go back home and make another appointment. he didnt ask me more money for my mistake. so i went there twice. and both time he behaved really cool. he will do everything for returning more money for you. i paid a little more money compare to my friends !! 175 $ and i got three times more refund 3000 $ .(i got 1000 $ past year.) … so the result was amazing. trust him. i will go there for next year too by sure.

His office is directly under the BQE, and directly over a carwash, so be prepared for some shaking while there… but we just keep going back as a business because he is simply very, very, very good, and very, very, very patient. I used to see a very prestigious accountant in SoHo and always left that office feeling deflated and abused, when I leave from Oleg’s office I feel happy and my car looks clean. :-)

This is our second year working with Oleg for our company’s tax returns and we are extremely satisfied with his quality of work. We needed to file our federal, state and city taxes, and called Oleg up. He was really happy to help and asked us to visit his office with the appropriate paperwork. We sat down for 30 – 45 minutes, he pulled up our information, and got everything done on the spot. Fast, efficient, and great to do business with. He also offers reasonable prices with the understanding that we are still a small company as well. Also a great guy — very willing to explain things to us. He also found out we ran a nonprofit as well, and even made a donation check out to the organization!

Couldn’t be more pleased with my (first) experience working with Oleg. New to town, I needed help with a multi-​state and very complicated filing. I was extremely pleased with the return, as I ended up in a much better position than I had anticipated. Oleg’s fees are very reasonable, he responds to inquiries promptly, and he had the return completed exactly at the time promised. I’ll be back, without question, and recommend him highly. Having a good chuckle at Jackie’s review… agree that the area is not going to make the cover of any magazine, but it is industrial and not necessarily dangerous — at least during normal business hours. If you made it to the stairway filled with new furniture, you should have pressed on — the promised land was just a few steps away.

I am writing this review strictly based on the location of OG Tax and Accounting Group.
1.) Please beware that the building is located in a sketchy neighborhood and under a bridge.
2.) Then the office is hard to find. Clients have to walk though a door by a car wash and through some mattresses, around the corner… and up to the 2nd level.
I didn’t make it to the actual office because I turned around on the first floor and ran back to the subway. I felt very unsafe in the neighborhood and building as well. Women, please be careful when going to OG Tax and Accounting Group and don’t go alone.
I am sure that Oleg is as good as others’ reviews indicate, but I wasn’t willing to put my life in danger to find out!
