I was here for an event, it was a beautiful place. We didn’t see the owners the entire night, and I know for a fact that there was an events coordinator hired who was not an owner. This place pretty much only provided the space, and the space was stunning. From the other reviews I’m reading here, hire a wedding/event/party planner and have them deal with the owners.

RUN! FARFARFARAWAY from this place! They promise you one thing prior to drafting the contract and then close to your event they say there is a charge of this and that. I think her name is Sela the wife of the owner is so greedy for money. She’s blonde, Be careful with your money with her. BY the way!!! For all people who are planning an event here the drinks are REUSED!!! That means during the previous parties they pour the left over drinks onto half filled PEPSI so be careful! They save money like this even though you paid for news one.((They charge you money for this sh$t than they give you used drinks.) The soda had no gas and some had white stuff in it from what I hope is food. I’m very picky in what I drink. My guest complained about soda being flat and some had residue. You can tell by tasting the drink or feeling the bottle. If the bottle Is soft than the soda has been opened. Also, check the bottle cap Be careful. You will be paying loads of money for an embarrassment. At the end she tells you that it’s bran new in her Russian accent.

Things didn’t go so great during the planning part of my son’s 1st birthday. But the owners, although not very friendly sometimes worked with me to make the day of the party absolutely amazing!!! And the food is great!!!

Let’s use some logic. The place is not cheap and perhaps the biggest one in Brooklyn and it is booked most nights, weeknights too. My logic says it’s good. I would not lie that the owner is your sweet American mom-and-pop store owner, but I hope you don’t expect that from Russian guy in a such tough business. But he is decent guy, loves what he does and he delivers. His clients are loyal to him for decades and no Unilocal/google review would change it.

I was just looking for a Russian restaurant to host a small gathering for 8 people and came across Orion Palace as part of the list of restaurants in Brooklyn. I was so surprised to read the reviews that people are leaving. My family has been hosting parties here for over 20 years and I guarantee we would not have been back so many times and years if everything was not perfect. Yes, it is true that the outside might not be the best scenario with the train and all but once you are inside, the outside no longer matters. The food is absolutely delicious. We think they are top of the line for Russian catering halls/restaurants. The variety, quality and presentation is wonderful. The whole place itself is beautiful especially after they completed the most recent renovations. Its not very modern with glass and such but its very elegant and royal. Someone mentioned in their review that the owner yelled at one of the waiters. I guess that’s what it takes to keep your staff at the top. Whenever I’m there for a party, the service is amazing. Plates are changed at a super speed and no matter what it is that you might need, there’s always a server to ask. It personally made me upset to see the negative reviews posted about this place because it seems like its just lies. I loved it here every single time whether it was my own event or I was just a guest. If you are looking for a place in Brooklyn to host a big event I highly recommend you at least consider this place. If you don’t get the«greeting» at the door you hope for, try to look past it because your actual event will leave your guests very satisfied. And on top of everything, if you book this place you get a whole package that includes invites, cake, different color napkins and table cloth, flowers, etc… so not only do you end up saving but it’s like a one stop shop with less worries and tasks!

If i could give this place no star i would. I should have listened to the other reviewers and ran far away. I wish i knew where the positive reviews were coming from. I would have liked to take part in their celebration, or talk to their dealer. I want to sit down and write an entire essay about how horrible this place is, but there seems to be enough reviews around the internet to free me from that responsibility. here’s a review from another dissatisfied person: Go look up Google reviews and reviews on various other wedding sites. Maybe with enough feedback Orion Palace or as i lovingly refer to it as Orion Stable… will change their business model. Edit: I find it beyond suspicious that after I posted my HONEST review of my experience, there then sprung a host of 5star reviews for this place on wedding wire. I can assure you that it is not«you get what you pay for» you don’t need to lose an arm or a leg for a wedding party. You also should be respected as a customer for whatever it is you have paid for. This is the true russian attitude of I’m better than you because I’m the owner/someone important/I no longer need you hierarchy bullshit that I try to avoid. I will not allow for anyone else to lose money or ruin their event because of this place. I’m sure once you meet this person you will understand that the reviews that are perfect 5stars, one of which from a former employee, are all just sad ploys.

I am really not a fan of typical Russian restaurants, and after reading reviews of this place on the Internet I was expecting to hate it, but I must say I was pleasantly surprised. I came here for a wedding and the food and service of this place were incredible. Everything was fresh and really delicious! The waitress did not leave our side, she made sure that every person had food on their plate and tried everything! As far as the parking issue is concerned, they have free valet parking so it’s really a none issue, plus if one doesn’t want to use valet it’s located in an area where finding a parking spot is really not a problem.

Wow! I read some reviews, and most were negative, but I decided to give this place a fair chance. Guess what? The Internet doesn’t always lie. The owner or manager or who ever was in charge of booking events was a complete rude obnoxious and intolerable man. Instead of giving direct answers to our question he gave 5minute long stories about his personal preferences, how he knows best, and how he can’t give us a concrete menu because everything changes all the time. When confronted about consistency and quality he flew into another story about his taste for some foods and not others. It was very difficult to get an exact answer to anything from him, and to make matters worse he made some impolite remarks, wouldn’t explain why we couldn’t arrange the tables as we wanted and began some new loooooong story about something irrelevant. Oh and each story ends with a moral, sort of, like a Russian Aesop spreading the gospel… Stay away. We were burnt out from our meeting so much so that we didn’t even bother booking anything.
