Osei & Kwakye Obgyn

I was referred to this doctor by my children’s pediatrician after dealing with a fraudulent nurse at my other OB. After scheduling my first appointment, I received many reviews that Dr. Osei was rough during exams, that they are money hungry, and of course issues with the circumcision rule of their office. I wasn’t too concerned about the last one because I knew I was having a girl.
My first issue when I got to their office, there are 5 doctors normally on call. From mid August until now, I’ve seen every one of them. One male in particular, following an anatomy scan that seemed very well to my husband and I, pressed the issue that there were white reflecting spots on my daughter’s heart (I later found out from an outside doctor were calcium deposits) were associated with down syndrome and the doctor proceeded to badger me into taking anther genetic test in order to rule it out. I told him the test wouldn’t change the outcome of me keeping her so then he had me sign off on a paper, while loudly telling me all the «risks’ of having a down syndrome baby.
Second issue, another doctor told me they needed to do the sono to rule out the white spots on her heart. I was sent to a specialist so far out, just for them not to do the fetal echo cardiogram, but a regular sonogram. Let’s add to the fact that if you have complications, you come in for questions or even test results and they have you do the routine prenatal exam, EVERY TIME. Here’s to hoping my insurance doesn’t have a threshold.
Third issue, with everything going on, I forgot to mention that I had a uterine rupture with my precious pregnancy to the doctor. He told me via their patient portal that I would have to have my c-​section moved up and if I am in any more pain, go to labor and delivery (btw, with this being my 3^rd c-​section and with the scar tissue and everything else, I was in constant pain, calling out from work and was not put out of work despite my numerous visits). I went to labor and delivery because I was in so much pain, a doctor at the hospital told me I could be having complications. When I got to the hospital, the doctor said my OB would have to move up my c-​section to prevent me laboring on my own because the results could be catastrophic. I went into Dr. Osei’s office after being discharged in order for her to reschedule my c-​section and drop off my maternity forms. Please keep in mind I’m due January 7^th and they had me scheduled for a c-​section two days prior to my due date. The female ob was so concerned initially saying they had to hurry and schedule a specialized sonogram to check my uterine rupture and move my c-​section up. Minutes after, I’m given a sonogram date over 2 weeks from the visit and told I should be ok until the c-​section. Proceeds to tell me the baby is big and my uterus is CONFUSED and is preparing for delivery so I’m experiencing Braxton Hicks. I was in labor and delivery for over 4 hours on a monitor and not once did I have a contraction, so I’m confused as to how this doctor LOOKED at me and pressumed this was going on.
I called methodist’s administration and emailed Dr. Osei about the visit and he called me finally to have me come in and discuss it. I went after work and not only did they proceed as if it was a prenatal appointment, despite the fact that I was there 3 days prior, HE DIDN’T EVEN COME IN THE ROOM… he proceeded to send the same female ob in the room despite my complaint to him. I already had a back up appointment in case the situation wasn’t rectified, so I signed a transfer paper to have my medical records sent, and despite the long wait for him to acknowledge my presence, it wasn’t until after I left, and was minutes from home that his assistant called me and told me that he asked for me to come get my medical records. Never acknowledged the situation, nor did he ask why I left or wantef to transfer.
My advice to you is do not sit and put your hands in the care of someone who genuinely is not concerned about your wellbeing or that of your child. My pregnancy should’ve been treated as a high risk one and I was surrounded by staff who were more concerned about finding out developmental issues instead of making sure we were both healthy. It’s NEVER too late to switch OB’S for your comfort, even if the takes 3 or 4 times.

I was referred to this doctor by my patient at work because she was diagnosed with the same condition I have at the moment. So I went here expecting to get my situation resolved but my visits (note :numerous) but it seems like every visit needs a follow and nothing gets resolved… REDUNDANT
The doctor rushed my visit … Didn’t educate my properly on my situation. Was very rude. Didn’t greet me and definetly didn’t finalize the visit properly. He didn’t escort me out of the exam room .
What’s worse is that I had a Pap smear done last week (very painful) and it wasn’t noted in my chart this week when I followed up … So he scraped my vagina so painfully and didn’t even give me no test results … Didn’t even note that he went down there !
With all that being said. I suggest that u do not visit this doctor. It is a complete waste of time and waste of money (insurance or not)

Terrible. First I made an appointment, then got a call that the doctor isn’t at that location on that day so I had to reschedule. Receptionists act exasperated while helping you, but the worst part was the 0 amount of help I got. When I made the appointment, I made it clear that I only wanted to switch birth control. At my appointment the doctor told me they do not do IUDs because «insurance is complicated» (actual quote) and said that I need to go to Planned Parenthood. What a complete waste of time and energy.

Completely fed up with this clinic. I was spotting at 3 months so I went to the ER. I was told that I had a threaten miscarriage and to follow up with my ob/​gyn in 3 days while put on bed rest. I call the office to inform them of what happened and an appt was set.
I had only been there once before and saw Dr. Ebo, which I thought I would’ve saw that day, but was seen by the only non black, I’m assuming doctor, (sorry Idk his name) who did an intravaginal sonogram. He referred me to Dr. Wehbeh’s office on Fort Hamiliton Pkwy (completely on the other side of town) for cervical shortening.
After the visit at Dr. Wehbeh’s office, I had a follow up appt with Dr. Ebo the next week. At the visit, I informed her that I was put on bed rest by the ER and then referred to Dr. Wehbeh’s for the spotting. During the vaginal check, I was in extreme pain. She said that the baby was very low and told me to go to the ER so my cervix could be checked since they were only a clinic and couldn’t do much for me. I asked if she could fill out FMLA and disability forms for work. Dr. Ebo said to have the ER complete it because she didn’t put me on bed rest. Really?
At the ER, I’m sent to L&D. The Dr’s inform me that my cervix is extremely short and the pain I was feeling were contractions. They gave me IV fluids and told me I was most likely going to miscarry because it was too early to put in stitches at 14 weeks 5days. I was put on STRICT bed rest and an emergency appt was set up to be seen within the hospital in 5 days to see if things had changed. After the appt, I gave the hospital the clinic’s info so that the results would be faxed to them.
I have now been going to appts at both Dr. Kwakye’s office (every 3 weeks) and Dr. Wehbeh’s office (for cervical checks every 2 weeks). I spoke with Dr. Kwakye because Dr. Ebo refused to fill out my forms and was told my FMLA could be written but not my disability because there’s nothing documented of my complications. Excuse me? Every time I come to the office and something is wrong, I’m sent to the ER. How could it possibly be documented in your system if you never take care of the problem?
I put in a short time on my FMLA (because I’m obviously not receiving disability pay) and I’m told by Dr. Ebo I can’t get a letter of clearance to return to work since the ER put me on bed rest. I’m so fed up with this clinic. Nothing is done except BP and weight check at every visit. Please do not go here. It’s a waste of time and your insurance.

Terrible service, money hungry instead of patient care driven, and rude. Looking to find new doctors asap

This is the worst doctors office I’ve ever been to. Dr. Osei was inappropriate with his examination, I was very uncomfortable. The wait was 2 hours long even with an appointment. The staff is rude and disrespectful. They really need to be shut down. People stop settling for good service.

I had a AWFUL experience with Dr. Osei during my delivery. They made it IMPOSSIBLE to do the circumcision in the hospital. I expressed my concern about not having funds and not wantng to pay extra for procedure when It’s covered under my insurance. He completely dismissed my concerns as his patient. Seems VERY money hungry & not concerned about the patient.

Dr. Kwakye-​Berko Is quite a piece of work, as I am uncertain of his proper medical credentials to begin with. But anyways, I was there one morning around 9 am, as their office hours were supposed to start per my scheduled appointment. The falling down drunk man outside was a bit offsetting to begin with, but I managed to walk past and into the waiting area to check– in and wait on the dr who wasn’t even on yet. Long story short, once I waited for over an hour for a scheduled appointment, he proceeded to yell and scream at me like a child. This was due to him trying his best to now embarrass me, after I asked a question that quite frankly, he didn’t know the answer to. He got insanely upset, then loud, after he was trying to give me and convince be of a wrong answer, then turned to anger and being rude. It was something that I’ve never quite experienced before, especially from an alleged medical doctor. I could not honestly recommend this doctor or even this medical facility to any sane human being that wants proper medical attention. He doesn’t know how to treat a woman, a patient, and certainly is quite inadequate of proper medical knowledge to practice as a medical doctor. His shortcomings are incredibly unsettling, and his lack of knowledge is nothing short of pathetic.

Horrible!!! No one is personable!!! Not one receptionist not one Phlebotomist not one doctor!!! I seem three different doctors on my only 3 visits! After finding out I was 6 weeks pregnant and receiving a congrats and a package on my next visit I was pretty much not noticed everyone seemed uninterested when I informed them of my threatened miscarriage! Long story short I would never ever go back n neither should you!

Decent place in Brooklyn if you want a simple annual exam, birth control, etc. Anything serious related issues, I would not recommend. They seem to have limited resources, and extend visits more than necessary. I needed a sonogram for an issue I was having and I had to visit 3 times which was really unnecessary. throughout those 3 visits, they never did blood work on me and this was an annual exam with a serious issue going on. Dr. Ebo (the female doc) is pretty nice and helpful but its clear they care more about the profit than producing quality care.

I’m not sure where to start… But hopefully the ONE star rating is enough to make you scroll on and think twice before coming here.
I moved from Atlanta back to NY last year. And if there’s one thing I hate, is looking for a new OB/​GYN. It was time for my annual check up and I decided to come here because it was just around the corner from where I lived (The Plex! shameless plug).
The standard gynecological care here is mediocre. They do the bare minimum and they don’t waste time getting you in and OUT. I didn’t really make a fuss about the GYN visits, because the main purpose of the visit was fulfilled. Pap smear, blood work and back home in an hour.
HOWEVER, when I became pregnant, everything went full speed ahead towards the worst OB/​GYN care I have ever witnessed.
Dr Ebo (the one female doctor there) saw me on my very first «OB» visit.
My period was one week late and went in afraid I was pregnant. The urine test and blood test came back negative on my first visit and she politely told me to return in a week if I still hadn’t gotten my period. Sure enough one week later. No period. I took 8 home pregnancy test the day before my appointment and they were ALL positive.
The next day I went to the office and told her about the home pregnancy results and she had me take a urine test in office which allegedly came out negative.
She drew more blood and told me to come back in another week.
Low and behold the blood work is positive. On my next visit to her, she still needed to be reminded of why I was there today and my entire background history as if she was meeting me for the first time. She told me that they would need to do an ultrasound to make sure the pregnancy was in my uterus, and she went along to send me to get an ultrasound.
As I am now tired of typing I will cut it short. Each prenatal visit, consisted of blood pressure check, weight, O2 saturation. and blood work every other visit.
The doctors, NONE OF THEM, ever sit down with you to get to know you as a patient. They never discuss diet with you. They never, measured my belly (I went to them up until 24 weeks because I was expecting to move and didn’t want to change my OB doctor more than twice.)
What’s even worse is, you get to know these providers and you go to them throughout your pregnancy. On line to have a midwife at the hospital they are affiliated with deliver your baby. NONE of them actually deliver babies anymore.
Long story short. I have switched doctors. And I am beyond happy that I did.
Please don’t waste your time going to them.

Dr. Kwakye is a very arrogant and very rude man who cares very little for the patient’s health and very much for the cash bottom line!
I visited this office twice. The first time I was seen by a female doctor. She was an absolute pleasure to deal with! I left the office feeling better informed and well taken care of.
On my second visit, I saw Dr. Kwakye. He stormed in the examination room and commanded «what do you need»? Even though I was in to fill a prescription, he insisted upon performing an exam I already had performed by the female doctor recently. Via my prescription, he bypassed the concerns I expressed over his recommended option and wrote me the prescription ANYWAY! I had to go back and ask him to re-​write a prescription for the drug I am the most comfortable with… After keeping me waiting 30 more minutes he REFUSED to call in the order and told me to MAIL IT MYSELF!

Second office now at kingsbrook. Very nice. Modern, computer access to my results.

Outside is deceiving. Nice office inside. Everything is digital. Fast appointments, evening and weekends.
