Going to bump this review up 2 stars. Not sure if my initial review prompted anything but I returned to continue the use of my Groupon pack, and the bed’s bulbs were much better.
Still doesn’t wow me as I think the discounted price for this particular bed is the max I’d consider paying.
I appreciated the prompt reply from the business as well. (Extra star for that)

Best experience I’ve ever had at a tanning salon. I try to tan once a week or so to keep my psoriasis in check. The woman working at the front desk (Cheryl?) was extremely nice and knowledgeable about what kind of bed and length of time would work best for me. The salon is extremely clean, with a great assortment of options, with a very friendly vibe. I’ve never had to wait for a bed, either. Highly reccomended.

I love all the deals they have. Sad I missed it, but they had a deal where if you bought a bottle of tanning lotion you got a free month package. I’ll be coming back in the future to see if there are any new specials!
The beds are clean, there are plenty of options and the girl at the front desk who first signed me up was extremely helpful and friendly!

First time at pacific tanning and I LOVED it! I used to go to beach bum in Astoria since it was closer to home but pacific is so worth the trip. The lady at the counter was friendly and helpful, she answered all my questions and explained everything, I was a bit hesitant because I read reviews that said it’s expensive but I didn’t see it that way at all! For the great service, clean rooms and tanning equipment, it’s a great price and they have single sessions and packages as well! Definitely coming back soon!

Pacific Tanning is by far the best tanning salon in Brooklyn! It’s high quality in every aspect– super clean and inviting décor, warm and knowledgeable staff, great music and a wide range of affordable types of tanning.
I was preparing for the Miss NY USA pageant, my first pageant, so I had a lot of questions about how to get the right type of tan. Antanette (the owner) and I put together a 2-​month plan that included alternating tanning bed and stand-​up tanning, and finished with airbrush tanning. I ended up with an incredible glow that was natural, soft and beautiful for competition and the bright lights of the stage!
Antanette is absolutely amazing– she’s been in the beauty and fitness industry for years, and so has SO MUCH wisdom about everything from tanning to beauty to diet to fashion. Definitely be sure to ask her anything, and I would recommend Pacific Tanning to advanced models/​actresses/​pageant girls or just anyone who wants to know more about taking care of their bodies!
The tanning beds are really good quality, and felt great on my skin. I recommend using one of the tanning lotions you can purchase at the front– they really enhance the glow and made me very bronzed.
Overall, what sets this tanning salon apart is the beautiful, clean atmosphere, great selection of tanning choices, and exceptional staff. Take the time to get to know Antanette and the staff, and Pacific Tanning can become an oasis of beauty and relaxation like it has become for me! :)

Pacific Tanning is the best tanning salon I have been to thus far in Brooklyn. The service is amazing and helpful. The rooms are super clean and there is always pumping tunes playing while you lay on your tanning bed. There are many options to choose from inside your individual tanning bed from air circulation movement to specific body part tanning intensity. I took one star off for price. I paid $ 25 for a single session but it really works after one visit. I believe the price of visits are 5 for $ 90 there and it obviously gets cheaper as you purchase a larger package.
I have been coming here to get dark for my wedding and wedding pictures and it always does the trick.

I have been a long time customer of pacific tanning and I must say, It is by far the best salon I’ve been to. The staff is friendly and accommodating, the beds and rooms are immaculate, the spray tans are done to perfection and the prices and package deals are affordable. It has a cozy yet fun feeling when you walk in… I highly recommened it!

I swore I’d give up indoor tannkng, but when car trouble ruined a trip to the Cape I was still desperate for a tan. After two failed attempts at a public pool I began my research on tanning salons in the Brooklyn area. Pacific Tanning seemed to be the best overall. It’s in a convenient location (off the G) and has comparatively great prices. The staff was pleasant and the equipment was certainly on par with any other tanning salon I’ve ever been too. (I used the level one lay down bed). A nice place that I would recommend.
Note: I was never able to get on their webpage because some sort of spam site always pops up instead. I’d say this is my only con.

I’ve been a long term client of Pacific Tanning for some years now, with sporadic visits due to My hectic schedule. The space is always immaculate and the staff warm and accommodating.
I actually received My first spray tan there many years ago. I naturally have olive skin to begin with –so I don’t tan as often as most clients. However, I DO appreciate having a safer alternative to tanning and keeping the ‘year long glow’ with the introduction of the spray tan. I also REALLY appreciate not being ‘sold’ on the various packages offered. Many times I’ve found that other tanning salons are too pushy with the sell of their packages and products– which I find highly absurd with a person of My complexion. lol Especially since I use the tanning salon mostly to fight the ‘winter pasty skin’ and to prepare for various job related appearances and obviously vacation. The new owner is a doll. Sweet as pie and Very friendly. I highly recommend and encourage you to support them for a convenient neighborhood friendly local business.

How could I not enjoy a clean, quiet, tanning environment tucked away on the 2^nd floor of a brownstone in Brooklyn?
The prices are not bad either compared to some of the Manhattan and Queens based franchise units I’ve been involved with. I also hate that things expire and I’ve wasted money on the simple fact that my time ran out on those «packages»
Here all I needed was a base tan so I bought a package of 10 for $ 60. That’s a pretty sweet deal in my opinion. They offer a small selection of tanning lotion too which is typical of any of these places.
Lastly the ladies that man the desk are very nice. Free eye protection and stickers if you like having a pale spot in the shape of say, cherries or a playboy bunny.

Terrible customer service.
I have never done any kind of tanning before, so I was new to the experience. I am getting married next month and I really just needed to get rid of some tan lines that have developed from running. That’s is the main reason I bought the Groupon in the first place.
The one I purchased was for either 10 bed sessions or 2 airbrush sessions. Never been the kind to lay out, so I went with the airbrush. The lady explained that I needed to wait to shower afterwards. Fine. Don’t use a loofa. Easy. When I went for a run almost 24 hours later, I had horrendous lines where my bra touched my skin. It was so bad I couldn’t even bring myself to wear a tank top for the next week, and I deliberately scrubbed it off to make it look better. The lady who did it didn’t mention that a 4 mile run would have that affect, and I figured it would be okay since it was 24 hours after having had it done.
I thought I’d just ask to transfer my leftover airbrush session into tanning bed sessions instead. Nope. Not possible at all — only can get another airbrush. I have no desire to have another one done, so I guess it’ll just have to go to waste.
Apparently retaining/​getting customers is not of remote importance to them. Glad I only got a groupon instead of purchasing a package.
I promptly went over to Park Slope Tanning instead to use their services.

I’ve never tanned before but since it’s now spring and the majority of my body hasn’t seen the sun in 6 months, I fear that unveiling my body in a public space might scare children, or blind pilots approaching LGA.
Also, I’m heading to Europe, full of nekkid beaches. Therefore it was time to cheat.
Pacific Tanning is clean and the staff are nice. Also, they have a variety of options including a stand up «bed» which I liked because I’m impatient and don’t want to feel like a Panini. The other nice thing is my session was only 6 minutes, which happens to be my nickname.
But you can soon call me George Hamilton.

I was extremely impressed by Pacific Tanning. From the start, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I hadn’t been tanning often so I had a lot of questions as to what level of bed would be the best for my skin type, what lotion I should get so I would tan evenly. Everyone was extremely patient and more than happy to carry on a conversation with you.
I generally never had to wait to get into a bed. All the tanning beds are cleaned right after someone leaves and you can tell that this place is taken care of very nicely. Above all, the prices were definitely reasonable. Tanning isn’t cheap in New York, but at Pacific Tanning, I thought they were moderately priced and I was more than happy to pay for everything I got.
I recommend this place to everyone. Overall it was just a really great experience!

Ok: so everyone I know is getting married and I’m in like 100 weddings, so being the pale ginger I am… I tend to get air brushed before major photos to fit in better with the girl clan. Got one here before a recent Vegas bridal shower and bachelorette and really loved the results. I received many compliments and got a free second air brush tan since it was my first time. I will be using this.
Side note: ended up going here because Park Slope Tanning was super rude and unaccommodating to me over the phone, which makes me think they didn’t need the business in the first place. I am glad I went to Pacific instead.
Total for 1 tan (plus I get a free one my next visit) was $ 62.50

I came here because it was the first and only tanning salon I had seen in Park Slope. It’s very clean and the staff is very friendly and the wait time wasn’t long at all. My only problem with this place is they are super expensive. After moving away from Park Slope I ended up doing an online search for tanning salons and found many in the PS area that were a lot less expensive and many of them use the same beds!
They are worth going to but I have yet to see any specials or promos they offer and you can go to other salons for a lot less, and many even offer free tanning for new customers or discounts and coupons to help save money. I know I can’t expect super cheap tanning prices in NYC like other states but I don’t want to pay more for a spray tan than I do to get my hair done!!!

After being mistaken for Powder (
) on the F Train recently, I figured it was time to make matters into my own hands…
I’m anti-​UV (obviously, my skin tone does not lend itself to being baked, and even if it did I do not have the patience!) but I headed to Pacific Tanning for their Mystic Tan.
I’ve only ever had airbrush tans. Many of them, actually over the last 2 years or so. Instant life, liberty and the pursuit of glowiness! They are obviously a bit more expensive because a technician applies the «glow» to your entire body. However, I was on a short timeline (wedding on Saturday) and needed some color: STAT.
After checking the stellar reviews for Pacific Tanning, and double checking that they have the BRAND NAME Mystic Tan system (imitations are typically a no-​no) I popped in to take a look and get my Jersey Shore-​lite version of myself to emerge.
$ 29.99 for the Light application (prices range on how dark you want to go, but nothing north of $ 35). You strip, cover your hair with a shower cap, put some lotion on, pop into the private booth, turn a few times (Mystic Tan lady voice guides you), dry for a few seconds and BAM… tannish over the next few hours.
The studio is very clean, the woman at the desk very professional (no teeny bopper tanning gals here), and I was in and out in 15 minutes (non peak time!). Appointments are accepted.
Special for new customers: Buy one, get one free! Hurrah, luckily I liked the first one enough to head back to cash in on the second one next time I fade to opaque. Should be about… next week. WHERE IS SUMMER?
Tips for BEFORE spray tanning:
*arrive freshly showered and scrubbed/​exfoliated
*do not wear deodorants, lotions, makeup or anything!
*apply blending lotion to hands/​feet.
*have all nail services, waxing, etc done BEFORE you tan.
*wear loose/​dark clothing (avoid jeans/​bras)
:SPRAY TAN:
Tips for AFTER spray tanning:
*No showering, sweating, etc for 8+ hours. Longer if possible.
*When you do shower, use warm (not hot) water, light soap.
*Pat dry (don’t rub it off!)
*moisturize and tan will last a lot longer.
Enjoy, people will no longer think you have a rare sickness that has drained all the warm blood from your body.

I’m generally quite anti-​tanning, but at times, vanity prevails and I visit a salon for a Mystic tan to brighten things up. The first time I came to Pacific, the girl working was extremely helpful in selecting which level I wanted and how to buy future visits in the most cost-​effective way. The salon is very clean and actually kind of pleasant with exposed brick, etc. An added bonus: the Mystic tan booth is actually Mystic Tan, not some generic spray tan booth. A new cartridge is used every time, and the machine talks you through the process.
While I haven’t used any of the regular beds at Pacific, I’d highly recommend them, particularly for the sunless options.

Definitely a great place if you’re a tanner. Very clean, very polite and knowledgeable staff, and clean towels. They play music while you tan which is commercial free, very nice if you don’t like laying there and listening to 5 minutes of commercials when you’re tanning for 10. It’s a little hard to find because it’s located atop of some apartments so I had to drive by for a few minutes until I saw a small sign. I actually prefer that it’s hidden because I wouldn’t want this place to get too packed and wait to tan especially since I have to drive back to where I live and circled around forever looking for a parking space (nyc, typical). Also, the price is very reasonable! There’s actually another tanning place about 30 feet from my house but their prices are disgustingly expensive. I’d rather drive 5 – 10 minutes to get to this place. They offer student discounts as well.
One thing though, I really wish they closed later than 9…

Oh my, my unhealthy guilty pleasure of tanning is CERTAINLY not dying out anytime soon thanks to the best staff ever and general overall awesomeness of this tanning salon. The price is right, the place is clean, super BK authentic exposed brick and nifty way of displaying products against it. It’s always almost unbelievably cold in there in contrast to the sweaty disgusting summer air in brooklyn. All the girls remember my name, they’re so «Cheers» with it. They even saved my goggles for me after I abandoned them one time. The only real pitfall for me is the music is hit and miss. Usually it’s crappy top 40 hits, but SOMETIMES I’ll get lucky and get someone who plays the XM classic rock station.

I don’t normally go to tanning places, but I needed a tan badly this past winter, so I searched and searched and couldn’t believe how high all these prices can climb! Then, luckily, I found Pacific Tanning, which had much lower prices than competition and believe it or not it looks amazing in there! It’s got that «Brooklyn Park Slope brownstone exposed brick» look, it’s so stylish inside, cool music, always a smiling face at the reception … it’s really a pleasure to go there :)
I got a month (30 days) of unlimited tanning in their stand-​up lounge and paid $ 90! It’s like half of the Manhattan prices!
They’re open late, have a selection of various tanning beds + 2 stand-​up lounges, always clean, staff is helpful, and they don’t force any of these expensive products on you.
