Photo Pink

Liesl was the photographer for our wedding in May, and was a real joy to work with. She captured our style and her photos were unique and beautiful. Our family and friends were as thrilled as we were with the result.

I cannot say enough about how great Liesl and Randy from Photo Pink are. I was in charge of finding a photographer for our wedding and I went a little OCD. I probably looked through 100 photographers in the NYC area. I narrowed down the selection and made appointments to meet the photographers. From the first meeting I knew we were going with Liesl and Randy. They were creative cool and personable. On our engagement shoot Liesl was awesome she has a great eye for awesome shots. She gets this look in her eye and you know she has a good idea. Like the one attached to this post. At the wedding they were awesome taking control rallying our families and bridal party for some great shots. I would HIGHLY recommend them for any event. Worth every penny.

We had the best time working with Monica and Randy for our wedding in May! They are both so incredibly talented, and — just as important — such a pleasure to be around. We couldn’t be happier with our experience or with the final photos, which are so beautiful and fun. Monica kept us laughing the whole time and both she and Randy really captured the excitement and joy of our wedding day. Everyone we worked with was very responsive and helpful. Can’t recommend the team at Photo Pink highly enough!

Signing Photo Pink as our photographers was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding last month.
Luckily, we didn’t have to peruse wedding websites and go through the seemingly endless lists of recommended vendors — we were introduced to Liesl and Randy through our best friends during their wedding last year (my husband and I were engaged at the time and both part of the wedding party).
After seeing their website, we were very impressed. Then, after seeing our friends wedding photos, we were head over heels! Photo Pink’s artistic documentary style to wedding photography is exactly what we wanted. Their innovative approach ensures capturing the day’s most important moments in their truest forms. Simply mind blowing.
We already knew without a doubt that Photo Pink would be out of our price range, I mean, these guys are from WILLIAMSBURG… hello?! But we went ahead and booked an appointment anyway because I was completely enthralled. Liesl and Randy are both so personable and easy going. You can tell that they absolutely love what they do. Thankfully, they were very flexible as to being able to give us what we want and accommodate our needs.
Needlessly to say, since I’m already here writing a review, everything on our wedding day was fantastic. Liesl and Randy were so professional and a lot of fun to work with.
Less than two weeks after our wedding, we were presented with sneak peeks of more than two dozen photos. They were amazingggggggg! We cannot wait to see the rest.

Photo Pink shot our wedding this past March, and they were just incredible from start to finish. The resulting photos are saturated and beautiful and they captured moments that we’ll cherish always (like the expression my mom always gives me, a gorgeous rain shot. that made us somehow look like we were Grace Kelly and Fred Astaire, and a precious close up of one of our nieces). And yes, horror, it rained on our Big Day… Randy and Jenny totally worked with it and the result was über romantic. Plus, they were both genuinely nice, calm, sweet people and you’ll want that energy around you. Going with Photo Pink was one of the best decisions we made when planning our wedding, they are just fantastic.

Ellen and I found Photo Pink online on a list of «recommended photographers for same-​sex weddings,» and you only need to look at their portfolio on the web site to see how unique and cool their style is (for weddings of any gender combination). And Liesl and Randy are even nicer and cooler than their photos suggest!
We eloped at Brooklyn Marriage Bureau, which turned out to be a bit of an off-​beat hoot, in a good way. We got some triumphant shots on the steps of Brooklyn Borough Hall, and then we took a cab over to Dumbo with Randy, where we got wonderful shots of the skyline and the bridge.
It’s not an exaggeration to say that Randy made our wedding an order of magnitude more wonderful than it was going to be without him, and that was pretty fun already. I wouldn’t change a thing if I had it to do over. So great! Hire them! xoxo E&E

We absolutely loved Photo Pink! We hired Liesl and Randy for our wedding (and engagement photos) and she and her team were just rock stars from beginning to end. Not only were they incredibly patient and thorough, they were so creative in their approach of how to stage us and where to capture the most vibrant and engaging photos. They were also great with given direction to everyone in the wedding party/​family — young and old. We can’t say enough great things about PP and, specifically, Liesl. She is a joy to work with. Such a professional who truly cares about her clients and loves what she does. Randy was also great in the way he captured the guys getting ready — he took some mean action shots!
If you care in the least bit about doing your photos right — Photo Pink is the no-​brainer choice. They may be a bit spendier than other options (but still not the most expensive), it is most definitely worth it.

A short review because I’ll just be repeating the other 5 stars ones — Liesl and Randy were fantastic. We checked out several places before Photo Pink, but these guys were hands down the best we saw. And, I’m very glad that we did — the photos came out super rad. These guys are on the top of their game.

Photo Pink was fantastic. We booked Jenny as our main shooter, and got Emily as the second shooter. We were thrilled with both.
1) The photos are stunning; one of our friends told us that in the pictures «everyone looks like supermodels.» There are a good mix of straightforward capture-​the-​moment shots and more artistic shots, and the composition and framing are great without being self-​conscious. Jenny told us that she does documentary photography as well, and it shows. The photos from the main event are elegant (which matched the wedding style), and came out great despite the low-​light venue. The engagement shoot photos are hip and fun from around Brooklyn. They’re collectively funny, touching, creative, and striking.
2) Both photogs made us feel extremely comfortable (which is no mean feat). At the wedding, they were completely unobtrusive while still somehow capturing everything. My husband says Emily kept him and his groomsmen just busy enough while he was waiting for me to come out to keep the nervousness down. The engagement shoot was much more fun than we expected it to be.
3) The processing is all done by Liesl (the owner), and is fantastic. She helps give them texture, style, pop, and variety, again without looking overdone.
4) The second shooter is also always a full-​time pro from their group. Emily’s photos also came out great.
5) As others have said, you get all your photos at full resolution on CD, with full rights to them. This is surprisingly uncommon!
Our only complaint was that it took kind of a long time to get the wedding photos back. This was right around Hurricane Sandy, though, so I don’t know how much that interrupted their business, and they gave us a credit for prints as an apology.
In short, just book them already.

I literally cannot rave enough about Photo Pink! My wife and I loved everything about working with Liesl and her team. Making sure you like your wedding photographer is really important as you’re basically spending your entire wedding day with him or her. Liesl was a warm, calm, grounded and unobtrusive presence. It was amazing — after having a moment with a family member or friend, I’d look up and there’d be Liesl, out of the way but quietly and perfectly capturing it. And our photos are just stunning — we love them. She captured the day beautifully. Also, Photo Pink is clear and transparent about pricing and very easy to work with as a vendor. We couldn’t be happier and would recommend Photo Pink to anyone.

It’s almost criminal that I haven’t written a review for the fine folks at Photo Pink — a full six months after my wedding! The only reason I haven’t is because I thought I already did! After checking up on Unilocal I saw I actually hadn’t, so here it is.
My wife and I couldn’t be happier; we are still giving the photos as gifts, perusing them occasionally and using them as Facebook cover photos. We met with five wedding photographers, but we felt Photo Pink would add a bit of daring and style to our wedding. We also loved the interaction between Liesl and Randy at our meeting. We knew we made the right choice at the engagement shoot. Randy was great to work with — we went to three locations and he gave us some extra time to get everything in. We were happy with the full shoot too.
Shooting on the wedding day went wonderfully! Liesl and Randy took amazing photos at every stage. The getting ready photos are particularly good, and the wedding party and family portraits are superb. They gave our wedding a bit of zing, a bit of whimsy and a lot of color (color is a specialty of theirs).
Liesl and Randy were patient, kind and were fun to work with. They truly added to the happiness we felt that day, and we’re grateful.

Photo Pink was amazing! From the very beginning they were professional and organized. The scheduling and contract was handled very efficiently by Megan the office manager and she answered lots of emails full of random questions I had. Liesl (photographer) captured every moment and detail of the wedding in an artistic photojournalistic style. My husband and I are not very photogenic and we have so many great photos we are having trouble deciding which ones to print! I have had several friends who have told me that they are jealous of my wedding photos. They are absolutely stunning. If you want one less thing to worry about on your big day book Photo Pink but do it early because they are a busy bunch.

Being a HUGE photography lover, getting the perfect photographer for my wedding at a price that we could afford was my absolute #1 priority. After speaking w/​vendors from all over the country (Seattle to Kansas, LA to BK), we decided on Photo Pink for numerous reasons. 1: we had a carnival theme and the hubs and I have a very certain, somewhat off-​the-​normal path of what we were trying to portray to our guests. 2: the hubs is a musician w/​an inclination towards the more left-​winged approach to humor and that also needed to be expressed. 3: we had a total DIY wedding and I NEEDED someone that could respect and capture all of that 4: once we met w/​Liesl and Randy, we were immediately put at ease — they didn’t seem like they wanted to nickel and dime us.; they told us that we get ALL of our photos and on a CD; they were open to a themed photo shoot, with props and all, and didn’t look at us cross-​eyed when it was mentioned.
In addition, throughout the process, Megan (their office manager) ALWAYS responded in a timely fashion. And all the while, she happily answered ALL of my e-​mails (from costume questions, to lighting questions, to crazy large photo requests) w/​respect and courteousness.
End result: well we haven’t gotten our actual wedding photographs yet since we JUST got married a little over a week ago, but our engagement photos were nothing short of amazing!!! Every single person that saw our photos raved about them nonstop. And for those that met Liesl, they were instantly in love w/​her ease and laid-​back personality as well.
I say that if your looking for a photographer w/​a great eye, amazing ability for good composition, ability to find humor in things and convey that in your photos, and all at a price that you can afford, then Photo Pink is undoubtedly the place to go. The hubs and couldn’t be any happier w/​Liesl and her crew. They totally rocked it in every way!!!

As a member of the industry, I can honestly say that PhotoPink is one of my very favorite studios. Their work is gorgeous — stylish, artistic and distinctive. Aside from their incredible aesthetics, the team is a genuine pleasure to work with — courteous, professional and positive — and we’re always thrilled to collaborate with them. I wholeheartedly and without hesitation recommend Liesl, Randy, Jenny and the PhotoPink team.

Terrible, Unprofessional, Awful Company! From trying to book appts to shelping from NYC to Brooklyn to get to their studios as they don’t meet elsewhere nor have flexibility. Brides look elsewhere and don’t let Photo Pink ruin your day like they almost ruined mine!

Photo Pink is amazing in every sense of the word. My wife & I could not have been happier working with them. Right after meeting Liesl & Randy it was easy to cross the other 7 prospects off of the list and go with them.
From their personalities to their professionalism to the quality of their work, they really made our wedding (November 2010) special despite obviously being only one of many vendors we worked with (ultimately we spent the most time with our photographers than anyone else, and they’re just downright awesome to hang out with!).
I never understand why I’ve encountered unfriendly wedding photographers at friends’ occasions, but Photo Pink proves why truly the best work needs to be done under positive circumstances by good people. Work with them and you will be delighted! We still have the privilege of being in touch with them about wedding blogs/​magazines and feel lucky to know such pleasant & talented individuals.

Photopink is absolutely amazing! I enjoyed working with their photographers. They were so nice and down to earth. They cared about what we wanted in our pictures. It was very comfortable from the get go. They also made us look amazing in our pictures! We cannot thank them enough for their warmth. I enjoyed every moment of it!

Artsy hip young photographers based out of Brooklyn. I loved their vibe, style of photography and ease in dealing with. They are all heavily experienced, degreed in visual art/​journalistic photography etc. And you can choose the photographer whose style best meets your needs. It is standard for them to include a second shooter.

There are not enough good things to say about my experiences with Photo Pink. From the very first inquiry we made when we were researching photographers up until we created our album 8 months post wedding with them, they have been responsive, easy to deal with, professional, and have continually over-​delivered on their promises.
They created a comfortable environment during all of our photography sessions, great for calming the nerves of those who don’t have much experience in front of the camera. They listened to our concerns and took our creative direction into account, which is something you can’t say about many wedding vendors. They have a distinctive artistic style but you still end up with pictures that capture **YOU**.
If you want unique and stylish photographs and you want to deal with a vendor who understands and cares about its customers and truly knows their business, Photo Pink is the place to go.

I can’t speak highly enough of Photo Pink. We were adamant about keeping the costs of our wedding down, but the pictures were really important to us. We wanted them to honestly reflect the entire gamut of emotions, capture what we missed, and look good doing it. It’s a total understatement to say that Liesl accomplished this. Her work was stunning.
When our guests’ amateur pictures went up on facebook the day after the wedding, they were fun to look at, but I was completely blown away when we got our professional ones from Photo Pink. Liesl has some serious talent and intuition, to say nothing of her warmth, professionalism and sense of humor. Our wedding was awesome, but it was pretty low-​budget, and these photos made us feel like rock stars. Mad props. Thank you to Liesl and the whole Photo Pink crew for the beautiful work, and may our wedding live on in infamy through the pictures you took!
