ProspectBArk began in early 2010 in the areas surrounding Prospect Park. Since then, we’ve grown to serve almost every corner of the borough, and have expanded to Roosevelt Island & Manhattan! We’re proud of our rapid growth, and our ability to respond immediately to clients’ needs.

Our Walkers & Sitters are rigorously screened, trained and certified to provide all the love and supervision your pet requires. We are master communicators with you every step of the way, with a daily picture or video text from EACH walk or CAT VISIT. Our clients can expect flexible, online scheduling, online billing and payments, the highest level of accountability, & someone who will pick up the phone on the first ring — to help you with whatever you need.

We are fully bonded & insured, and certified by the American Red Cross in Pet First Aid. Our staff sets the bar in pet care. Call us to see how!

History

Established in 2009.

Our founder Chun-​Soon had been kicking around a few names, mostly bad ones, for a dog walking business. Names like «Love and Walkits» were left on the cutting room floor. The name «Prospect Bark» was owned by a fellow in Windsor Terrace, but it languished, unused. A bike ride and $ 100 later, Chun-​Soon purchased the name from him — and ProspectBArk LLC was born.

We started with one fluffy dog in Park Slope. Word spread fast. Soon, we had a small team of pet lovers trained to hit the streets. In Jan. 2010, we bought Petato Dog Walking and Pet Sitting, combining forces with the most respected pet professionals in Brooklyn.

Now, five years and 200,000 dog walks & cat sits later, we continue to grow rapidly while still responding to the needs of EACH cat and dog in our care. In 2011 we earned 2^nd place in the national Entrepreneur of the Year, People’s Choice Award, and in 2012 our very first dog walker, Matt Finucane, took the helm as co-​Owner. What does a NYC mom-​preneur with an arts background have in common with a hard-​working, midwestern emigré who is obsessed with Russian history?

A whole-​hearted love of animals!

Matt and Chun-​Soon steer the pB ship with diligence and focus. From maintaining the social networks (facebook, pinterest, instagram, youtube videos), to marketing, event planning, legal and tax compliance, online scheduling, payroll and billing, employee training & benefits, about 450 emails and texts per day, and making sure all our furkids are healthy, happy and LOVING their CITY LIVES — whew, we wear a lotta hats!

ProspectBArk! is a proud member of the Association for Pet Sitting Excellence, insured and bonded through Pet Sitters Associates, and a contributing member to the ASPCA, Best Friends Sanctuary and the World Wildlife Fund, as well as local rescue organizations such as Break The Chain Program, Animal Haven and Eve’s Sanctuary Animal Rescue.
