Reed Boiler Service

Avoid these people at all costs. They showed up many hours late yesterday, after calling multiple times to ask questions about what kind of toilet I wanted, with the WRONG toilet. Although I told them standard, they brought a fancy one that would not fit. Then they complained that they didn’t know the old one was not working — hello? why else would I be trying to urgently replace a toilet??? Then they promised to come back today. I skipped work, rushed home to wait — and they never showed up. I called to check on them. The secretary told me she’d call me back. She never did. Finally I called her back to be told «I don’t know what’s going on with this place, I’m only the secretary» and that she was unable to locate them. By now it’s 5pm on a saturday and I don’t have a working toilet. Really bad.

When I called initially (Saturday @ 10:30am) the receptionist stated that the company had experience in the boiler I owned (Laars Endurance) and that the worker would be arriving by 2pm. At 2pm the receptionist contacted me back to tell me that the worker was running late and he would be there in 30 minutes. The worker then called me 1 hour later and asked me what type of unit I had; I told him it was a Laars and he then stated that he had minimal knowledge with this type of unit and the job would be difficult. I thereafter instructed the worker not to come.
All this time wasted I could’ve had a different company possibly fix my issue now I have to wait until Monday to get my issue dealt with.

Follow-​up to my last post: Having been let down several times regarding a visit by a technician, I called Reed and left a message stating that I no longer wished to use their company, and informing them of my intent to post a negative review online. About half an hour later, Reed called back asking (for the fifth time): «What’s wrong with this boiler? Why do we keep getting this work order on our desks?»
Once again, I explained that all I wanted was an annual service, but so far, Reed seemed unwilling to accommodate me. The caller said that Reed was very busy tending to people with actual broken boilers, and that was why I kept getting shuffled to the bottom of the pack. He also said the «technicians were too busy to even scratch themselves, and didn’t have time to call me to apologize for my missed appointments».
He offered to come around that very evening, and even offered me $ 20 off the cost of the call-​out fee. I agreed to give them one last chance. Despite the profuse apologies and explanations, no-​one showed up. Again. And once again — not even the courtesy of a phone call to say they weren’t coming. Do not, do NOT, give these unreliable and slap-​dash people your business.

Tony and his associates showed up when they said they would, gave reasonable advice and fulfilled their promises! They were very helpful both during and after the installation, when some kinks had to be worked out. I highly recommend!
