Sals Tire

Called about getting rims for my 2005 Chrysler with over 100,000 miles on it as I cracked one of the originals and the tire kept losing air. Told Eladio I didn’t want to spend a lot of money and asked for the least expensive pair they could get. He told me they could repair the rim by welding it for a lot less money. Took the car there today. Rim was sent to the welder who seemed to do a great job. Cost $ 98 with tax and was done in about 90 minutes. I found them very honest and as for not being friendly, well they’re too busy working to stand around and chat but everyone I spoke with there was very helpful. Would definitely go back.
Update ²⁄₂₀₁₅: Went back because I needed two rims for my car. Told Eladio that I was trying to keep the cost to $ 150 each as the car has 115k miles on it. He got me two beauties for $ 185 each which included mounting and changing over the pressure monitoring valves. The tech who did the work though didn’t balance the tires and didn’t put the valve covers on. I’ll have to go back for the balancing because driving on the highway with the steering wheel vibrating is a real pain. But still, it’s a place I’d definitely continue to patronize.

I’ve been coming here for years but the last time I went I was charged $ 20 more for a wheel alignment by this short young male hispanic shop manager than the standard rate they have at the shop. I told him that’s not the price I’ve been charged in the past and he said its always been this way. Anyways, I called in a few days later to get a price and I was right about what the rate was. Bear in mind my car does not have any modifications and is stock from the factory. I guess beware of who you speak to.

Only place I’d get tires or any tire/​wheel service in Brooklyn. Have gotten tires here and always professional, reasonable and in and out fairly quickly. Good tires, management… something hard to find in this industry.

With Sal, the former owner, everyone was in good hands. I’ve learned
the hard way it’s not like that anymore. They don’t give warranty’s on
the tires (I should have refused when I learned that). I left and my
car didn’t ride as smooth. Thought it was my imagination. The next
day I rode two miles from my place when the emergency lite went on
and there’s was smoke. I got the car home. Had it towed to my
mechanic. Seems like a plug was switched for an old one… but, of
course I can’t prove it. Cost a bit to fix all this. Also, I went for one tire
and they told me there was a bubble in another tire. Now I really
don’t know if that’s true. I’d keep away. Oh, service was fine, I didn’t have to wait that long… so I put in one star. Fast service… not worth it.
