I’ve been to many Thai restaurants before and I have to say, they have the worst pad Thai I’ve ever had. It literally tasted like how a HORSE smells. On top of it, it has this orange color to it, not sure why. Now I try not to bad mouth restaurants but I told them that something was wrong and they said ok, asked me if I preferred something else, I told them yes I’ll have the same thing my friend ordered, the waitress then comes back and tells me she’ll have to charge me for another dish so I said no thank you. When the check comes I see that she has charged me for the dish when I literally took two bites out of it and then told her there was an issue. I told her I was not paying for the dish which happen to be the lunch special. She then comes back with a new check charging me for the four minuscule fried wontons it comes with… Overall BAD dish and even worse customer service, I now understand why it was completely dead in the middle of lunch.

I ordered delivery. It came fast, but thats all the positive I can say. Pad thai was orange and had bits of ash in it. thai iced tea tasted like burned coffee. And the dumplings… not good

Worst pad Thai I’ve ever had in my life. Yes it is the utmost«basic» thing I could’ve ordered on the menu but it’s safe and a good indicator for the rest of their food. Why is their pad Thai bright, fluorescent orange? On top of that strange color it was SOUPY, soggy and sad. On top of it there was no flavor. It was only flavorful when I asked for dried chili pepper and put it all over it. I was honestly offended by the food. I was so hungry from working out right before that I silenced my ego, ignored my gut and succumbed to my lowly human hunger. On top of that the service was me having to stand up and go to the counter asking for things. So in a nutshell if you want bad Thai food with even worse service please be my guest and come here.

I never been to the restaurant. but have ordered delivery for last four years. My favorite is spicy and sour noodle soup. Never had this noodle dish at any other Thai places. It is not exactly tom yum soup but it is super spicy and much flavor. I also recommand their sauteed tofu with vegi plates… curry puff and spring rolls are also very good. Delivery takes a bits when it is only couple blocks away.

Good dumplings, massamon curry(despite there being only 3 peanuts), & pineapple fried rice. It’s no fancy place to dine-in, at all, but the food was satisfying.

This is a 3-star Thai joint that gets a +1 because they actually give you spicy food. I ordered the extra spicy pad thai with a side of spring rolls to a bar on a hungry and moderately drunk whim. The food came in around 20 minutes and was piping hot. First off — why the hell did I not get utensils? I had to take some from the bar. I know we need to save mother earth and all, but it is delivery food — give me a spork man. Other than that the spring rolls were light and crispy and tasted great. The pad thai was perfectly average and acceptable. I think it could have used some more sprouts — but whatever. But it was SPICYASFUCK. Not curry lane vindaloo spicy, but barkeep pour me another spicy, and that is what I look for in my 11pm drunk on a Tuesday Thai.

I really enjoy the thai food from this restaurant. It’s always reliable, decent, and doesn’t change much even if there are different people in the kitchen. I typically order a drunk man noodle, which is delicious and spicy. Sometimes it comes a bit oily, but a small sacrifice to pay for speedy delivery. I’ve never had delivery from them that has taken more than 40 minutes — they are super fast. Which is kind of what you want from delivery/Thai food. Thai salad is good, peanut salad dressing is delicious — I’ve saved it and used it again on my own and it stays well in the fridge. Their curries are good, but I find their noodle dishes to be where they shine. I’ve had green and red curries here, both average flavorful-ness. I would eat here again, that’s the point. I’d order regularly if I was a regular take-out eater, and that’s saying quite a bit. Delicious. I have not eaten in the restaurant, so this review is strictly about delivery services.

A really underrated Thai spot that deserves more hype. Every time I dine in, I’m aware of how empty the restaurant is. Their takeout service is probably what sustains the restaurant. Really nice staff, and the food is solid. The glass noodle soup is a light addition to your heavier entrée. The noodles are actually bean thread, or «fun see» to Cantonese folks like myself. I ordered the tofu and vegetable version, but would’ve liked a heartier soup for the 4 bucks I spent. It was a good way to get my veggies though! The drunken noodle entrée is extremely flavorful, a good mix of spicy and sweet to clear your sinuses. No wimpy spice here, so come prepared with a pack of Kleenex, cos you’ll be blowing your nose a lot. If there’s a menu item that sets Sugar Beets apart from other Thai joints, I think the duck noodle soup is it. I don’t know what’s in the herbal broth — crack? It’s that good! I always drink the entire bowl, and the duck that’s served on top is light and crispy.

AMAZING Thai food if you’re looking for delivery! The restaurant itself isn’t worth visiting unless you’re picking up the food, but literally everything on the menu is divine… I order from there about once a week. I would especially recommend the corn fritter appetizers, the tom kha and tom yum soups, the green curry, pad Thai(chicken), drunken noodles, basil stir fried(chicken), and truly anything else is an excellent choice!!! 5 stars for great food and quick service!

The food was fine, but the delivery service is run by an insane person. This woman was the Comcast representative of Thai restaurants. They screwed up our order(delivering chicken dumplings instead of vegetable, discovered after a few bites by unhappy vegetarians), and then refused to bring what we paid for until we gave them back the half-eaten dumplings. We said, «sure you can have them.» That was weird, but it got weirder… After agreeing to the strange request, we waited another 30 minutes but no dumplings arrived. When I called again, I was told«I called the delivery man back because you won’t give up back our dumplings.» Really. I confessed my desperate desire to return the half-eaten dumplings. They said they were on our way. It took another 80 minutes(a full 2.5 hours after our original order) and 4 more phone calls(during all of which I was accused of old-dumpling hoarding), before our vegetable dumplings, arrived via a very confused delivery man, who we tipped again and apologized that he has to work in an insane asylum.

Wow! Fell in love with this place first time eating here. My usual Pad Thai endeavors lead me to Khoa Sarn on S 2nd and Bedford. I still enjoy that place, don’t get me wrong but Sugar Beets blew them out of the water. Upon arriving with two people I noticed the place is HUGE. We were the only people in the restaurant. We got pretty decent service. The portions were massive. I was with 2 friends who each ordered pad Thai. I got fried rice. I definitely couldn’t finish it all. It was very open and quiet. I can’t imagine this place feeling overly crowded. Will be back soon!

My boyfriend and I have been loyal customers of this place for awhile, and always liked it, but lately, something has gone wrong. Twice in a row our online order was messed up, and I let it slide the first time, but when I called to complain the second time it happened, the person I spoke with argued with me, telling me over & over that it was my fault, not theirs, and being pretty rude. I’m so disappointed they would act that way, especially since it takes a lot to make me complain. But to be so rude, not offer any recompense, and basically act like I’m the stupid one, when I’ve been coming here for so long, is beyond insulting. Fix your system and stop blaming your customers!

My boyfriend and I have ordered Sugar Beets on seamless more times than I can remember! That being said I have never been to the restaurant so I cannot vouch for the ambiance or service. It always arrives within less than 30 minutes, piping hot and fresh! Our staple is the pad Thai(perfect size noodle, peanutty and flavorful, with fresh bean sprouts and an always juicy and good size lime. We also get the drunken noodle with beef — perfectly seasoned and a bit spicy. It’s a hint of heat but by no means unbearable. I have also tried a variety of appetizers — spring rolls always a winner. Definitely recommend, especially if you are looking for delivery!

This place was delicious. Me and my bf got the Thai dumpling appetizer and curry puff, yum! And for entrees he got the pad Thai with crispy duck and I got the udon noodles with beef. One word delicious! I didn’t give them five stars because the flavor notes in both dishes were the same(especially after he added some hot stuff) and the appetizers were so good they could have only been better if the curry puffs were one more! Lol. Will be coming here again when I’m in the area at the local cinema

This place is just ok. Seriously not a 4-star restaurant. The atmosphere is not great, with a big open space that resembles a strip mall more than a Brooklyn restaurant. They’ve tried to dress it up, but didn’t do all that great a job. The food is hit-or-miss. I went with my sister. She ordered the Shrimp Pad Thai, and I had the Salmon Panang. It took a long time for our order to arrive even though we were the only people there, and the Salmon Panang came way before the Pad Thai, which wasn’t cool. We ended up sharing the Panang while waiting for the Pad Thai, and when it finally came, we were actually thoroughly disappointed. Not a good Pad Thai at all. The Salmon Panang was wonderful though. Just wonderful. When I ordered, the waitress asked if we wanted it spicy, we said yes, and she cautioned us, saying that it’s «thai spicy» and wanted to be sure. We said turn it up, we like spicy. It wasn’t that spicy. It was very flavorful and delicious though, so I’m not hating. I would advise against the Pad Thai, but definitely think you should go there if you like curry. The place is alright.

Seriously disappointing. We decided to try this place based on Unilocal reviews, and I have no idea why this place has 4 stars. Service was terrible. It took our waitress 10 minutes to bring our drinks despite the fact that we were the only customers then. After a while we got some summer rolls which were kind of gross due to the fact there was a giant chunk of uncooked soft tofu in the middle. She didn’t bring any small plates to serve them so I had to get up and get them. The veggies in the tom yum soup weren’t the freshest and the broth didn’t seem consistent. Some bites had a spicy kick to them, while others tasted like salt water. To end this meal we had some vegetarian duck pad thai which was seriously lacking flavour. I’ve had a lot of pad thai and this didn’t taste like it. It wasn’t spicy nor sweet… just flavourless, the only thing I could taste was egg, which was all over the noodles in big pieces. Ew. This meal wasn’t worth $ 37(without tip) at all. I don’t mind slow or bad service is the food is good, but unfortunately this wasn’t the case. To add to the weirdness, they had some terrible techno radio music on and Seamless orders coming in every 5 minutes(this means a robotic automatic voice coming from a computer reminding them they had a Seamless order). The only positive thing I have to say is that the thai iced tea and lychee iced tea were good. I guess this place is good if you’ve been eating ramen noodles for a year or you are too stoned/lazy and want mediocre food delivered to your house. If you appreciate your taste buds don’t bother. There are better and cheaper options in the area.

My roommate and I used to bond over curries from Sugar Beets Thai. He likes the massaman — which I derived from his insistence to eat potatoes in some creamy sauce. I prefer green curry because I like my shit hot as in spicy as in burn my tongue off. But, the food at Sugar Beets is never as spicy as I’d like it. Maybe I should send a photo of my sweet self with my online order, so they can see that I am Asian, and I mean it. I really mean it! The photo would have me with a raised, clenched fist, because I super duper mean it !! I’ve had pad thai here(meh), some sort of flat noodles(okay), and dumplings which were fine. The thai iced tea is also pretty good for free, if they remember to bring it. Online ordering is convenient and the delivery is always timely(within half an hour). Pretty solid, SBT!
