Specialties
Acclaimed on business sites and on my own web site –heartofnyculture.com — my private walking tours take individuals and groups through neighborhoods in Manhattan and Brooklyn — mainly the Brooklyn brownstone areas and Greenwich Village. My walks emphasize history, culture and the current scene. We travel simply, to and between areas, by subway and bus, and I usually pick up customers staying in Manhattan or convenient Brooklyn hotels. The tours are generally 90 minutes to three hours, and can be tailored to the customer. They are adult-oriented, and incorporate my 30+ years of working in the visual and performing arts in pr and marketing. Most of my clients are visitors to New York City, although I have also hosted New York natives who simply haven’t travelled to certain areas.
History
Established in 2010.
I started as a volunteer for Big Apple Greeters, taking visitors to New York on routes of my choice. Friends of mine whom I took out kept telling me how good I was at it and that I should go professional. As I was retiring around 2010 from being an arts promoter, I decided to take their advice, and acquired my guide’s license; and I now do it as a retirement career.

Reva C.
Business Owner
I have worked in the arts for over 40 years, first as an actor/singer, then (from 1980 on) as a promoter: a press agent on Broadway and Off-Broadway shows, then a Marketing Director at performing arts centers, working mainly on touring music and dance attractions. From 2003 – 2010 I had my own business, publicizing and marketing organizations such as The Town Hall and Symphony Space, individual arts projects and arts education programs. I have promoted the appearances of hundreds of distinguished artists and ensembles, from the New York Philharmonic, the MET Orchestra with James Levine, the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, Patti LuPone, Tony Bennett, the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, and much more.
