TKTS Downtown Brooklyn

This is the best TKTS booth. Almost no line about 45 minutes before the opening. I was able to score 6^th row tickets to Fun Home for the next day’s matinée (40% off). That’s the one thing I like about this booth is that you can score the next day’s matinée tickets. Definitely come here instead of Times Square.

Very convenient location. I scored great same day seats to Spring Awakening for half price. Very nice employees, and hardly a 10 minute wait. Awesome!

I have been coming here since it opened and this was the longest I ever waited. I waited a hour and 20 minutes to get tickets. I know that you get a discount and are in the shade the whole time. But there is only one window open. I asked why there was only one window opened and agent said they didn’t have money to hire anyone. He said it will be like this all summer. So… my suggested is to try to get tickets somewhere else at least in the summer months.

If it weren’t for the good deals I’d give the 2 hour wait 0 stars. Damn stupid that they have only one window open with 200 people in line. Good deals but yet again poorly managed. Hopefully they understand that the $ 20 – 40 are completely offset by wasting nearly 2 hours in line.

I would really like to be selfish and not write a review about TKTS Brooklyn, only because I don’t want all of the tourists to come. For some reason, I doubt they will venture out of Times Square, so I think it’s safe to proceed with the review.
I have never purchased from TKTS before, usually going the mainstream route for shows. We were going to brave Times Square, but after a little research — BK was the place to go, and honestly after the sheer shit show of tourists in Times Square after the show, I’m so happy we didn’t have to deal with that craziness twice in one day.
An easy train ride on the A or C lines to Jay St./ Metrotech — was a little confused when we got out of the train as to which direction to walk — so I posted a picture as to what exit to take that will dump you right in front of the booth.
We arrived at around 2pm; and waited all of ZERO minutes in the non existent line, the gentleman working at this location was so extremely busy, he was reading a book!
Purchased tickets for Les Mis for the 7pm show at $ 78/​each; excellent seats 11^th row, stage right with unobstructed views. Just enough time to kill before the show, we were able do to a couple of things in the city, and have dinner as well.
The show was great, a packed house, I’m glad we were able to get awesome TKTS tickets without the wait. So if you are not afraid to venture out to Brooklyn, this is the place to come!

Got an amazing deal here for phantom of the Opera. Around $ 70 for aisle Orchestra seats in row k! The times square location is insanely crowded but the Brooklyn location is pretty empty at 3:30 so if you are planning to travel. To Brooklyn anyway, highly recommend you purchase your show tickets here.

This is seriously such a hidden gem. I have waited less than 15 minutes, heck even ten minutes to get tickets. Get the app for your iPhone or android it is really helpful because it has all three TKTS locations AND is updated throughout the day. There are internal possibly secret things going on in terms of how tickets are doled out to each location. Example: in the fall I wanted to see This Is Our Youth when it was in previews-​the app said Brooklyn had the tickets but when I arrived at the window they did not. Presently I am interested in seeing Constellations and have noted the few times I have checked the app that Brooklyn did not have them while South Street Seaport and Times Square did. One of the MAJOR advantages with the Brooklyn location is that you can buy your wednesday/​saturday tickets THE DAY BEFORE. In Early October I got 15^th row center for the Les Miserables revival and took my friend-​it was great. I have seen a few people mention they did not know they would have an obstructed view-​usually the booth people have told me that. If you are really detail oriented and you have your heart set on a certain show you could study the seating plan of that particular theater I suppose. Looking forward to some new shows opening this spring so I am really hoping they have skylight. Oh also-​you often fair better if you are just looking for a single ticket.

Soooo much better than the times square one. There are no lines here. When you pass by, you might even think it’s closed. It is in a very convenient location in Brooklyn, right outside the train station. Most shows are 50% off and for the shows that night or matinée the next day. They are on a lunch break from 3– 3:30.

I almost feel bad praising this place because it’ll make the lines longer!..
But even if you don’t come early, you still won’t have to wait to long to get a great discount for amazing shows.
There’s a coffee stand not far from there to make your wait more pleasant, and the assistants there are very professional and kind — don’t be shy, ask them anything.
The clerks who handle the payment are kind of strict, but that’s a good thing! It saves all of us a lot of time!

Forget the TKTS booth in Times Square. Come to the one in downtown Brooklyn and avoid the zoo that is Times Square as well as the crazy lines at that TKTS booth. I showed up right as it was opening and only waited 30 minutes. They have an excellent selection (Les Mis, Phantom of the Opera just to name a few) and you get a decent discount on tickets. I got my first choice of show without any issues and it was for a Saturday night no less. Don’t expect tickets for shows like Wicked or the Lion King because those generally have no problem selling out on their own.
Don’t let the fact that it is all the way out in Brooklyn discourage you from coming to this particular booth. It’s right next to a subway station so it is easily accessible. It’s also close to the Brooklyn Bridge so you can go do that after you’ve got your tickets.

tkts is your answer to cheap broadway tickets… if you can stand to take a risk. :)
they sell day of tickets at 40−50% off and future dates for full price. we got phantom of the opera for $ 70 a piece at orchestra for a saturday night showing.
i specifically came to this location (they have 3) because it’s less touristy and opens early at 11A. the other location @ times square opens at 2pm.
be sure to get there early, there was already a 15 minute wait when we got there 10 minutes before the booth opened.

Oh wow am I never going to wait in line at tkts times square again after seeing how amazingly easy it was to score great seats while spending less than 15 minutes in line over here!
It opened at 11am, and expecting short lines just came here around 11:30 and felt vindicated in not having to come here and line up prior to it opening.
I already knew what I was going to watch, but if I was planning on deciding on the spot, they have a massive board right by the line indicating what shows are available for same day evening shows and next day matinée’s.
I guess the only disadvantage of coming here is that you can’t get same day matinée’s but a little planing on your part should make that a non-​factor.
There was only 1 tkts guy at the top of the line and he was friendly not only to us but to passers by who stopped to ask him for directions etc.
So if you’re remotely close to here and decide you want to try to get broadway tickets, seriously consider popping in here and not wasting your time at the way more busy time square location!

All the major facts you need to know.
1. This TKTS Booth is amazing!
2. At this location, you can only purchase matinees for the NEXT DAY or evening show tickets for the same day. You must go to the Times Square location for same day matinée tickets. (i.e. come here on a Friday, if you want Saturday Matinée tickets. etc)
3. There is never a line. 20 minutes wait at most, TKTS Times Square — expect a 2 – 3 hour long wait.

I really shouldn’t be reviewing this, but you’ll find out sooner or later. Don’t waste your time going to the other TKTS booths. Just don’t. This is the best one for so many reasons!
Take whatever train you need to and come here. Saturdays seem to be the busiest and it’s still nothing compared to the times square booth. I waited here for about 15 minutes in the cold to get some (meh) seats for a show. The price was super reasonable, I just didn’t know my view would be obstructed, but whatever.
They usually have a large selection to choose from and you aren’t being rushed when you get to the front, which is nice because everyone wants good seats!
Also during the weekend you can get tickets to performances that night and also for matinees the next day, which you can’t do at the Times Square location.
Check online to see when lunch is, because the whole booth is closed for 30 minutes. If you’re a student or work for the city it would behoove you join the Theater Development Fund and get other amazing online only deals from $ 10 and up. Just sayin.

Line is not as long as the Times Square location!
They also have an employee that stands around the line to answer any questions you may have! Very knowledgeable and knows exactly who is going to be starring in each show!

The Downtown Brooklyn location is worth going to if you want to avoid the long line and get the best pick for evening tickets. I literally came here on a Saturday at 11:15 (15 minutes after they opened), waited in line for maybe 2 minutes, and got 3^rd row (40% off) tickets to see Avenue Q. The entire process was so quick and easy– 5 minutes tops! And the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Note: at this location, you can only purchase matinees for the next day or evening tickets for the same day. You must go to the Times Square location for same day matinée.

So in a previous life, before I lived in Brooklyn, I went to the Times Square TKTS location twice and both times got in a super long line, thought «there’s no way there are even enough seats on all of Broadway for all of these people and they’re going to either shut down or run out of all the good shows way before we get our chance»… and, ultimately, after all of that nervousness, got tickets for the show that I wanted to see at a good discount.
Yesterday, my friend and I decided to try the Brooklyn TKTS location right off of the A-​C Jay Street-​Metrotech stop. We rolled in kinda late — 12:30 or so — and even though I heard the lines were much shorter here, I was still worried that stuff would be sold out. Well, after a whopping 0 minute, 0 second wait, we walked away with decently-​discounted tickets to «Once». The entire transaction took less than 5 minutes and the guy at the booth was really pleasant, too… probably because he was working at this location. So, in summary, this experience was incredible. Never doing the Times Square line again. Please keep not coming here, everyone; thanks.

We wanted to catch a Broadway show while in NYC and did not want to pay full price. There are 2 TKTS locations in NYC: one in Times Square and this one in Brooklyn which offer same-​day show tickets for up to 30% off.
Fortunately for us we were staying about a block from the Brooklyn TKTS station and while we had read how the lines at the Times Square location would entail camping out the day of and waiting for hours — we waited less than 20 minutes!
Available shows are posted for that day only and are clearly marked — some are 30% off while others have less or no discount. Also, you can’t choose your seating — you will get best available.
Luckily we got tickets to the show we wanted for 20% off plus were in the 2^nd row! Will defs hit up TKTS in Brooklyn next time we’re in NYC. No reason to pay full price plus the staffer there was super-​friendly, knowledgeable and very short line! She was really helpful in helping recommend certain shows in an unbiased manner.
Tip: have at least 2 – 3 options in mind in case tickets to your preferred show sell out!

After close to no luck at the Times Square booth for Saturday matinée, Saturday evening, and Sunday evening for Once and/​or Newsies, we decided to risk it all, double or nothing on Monday morning (our last day in NYC).
Some background info: My name is Gabrielle and I’m addicted to musicals, particularly Newsies. The show started while I was living abroad in Spain, and I was so desperate to see it through lenses aside from YouTube clips that I tried catching a flight home to California from Barcelona with a long enough layover at LaGuardia or JFK so that I could head to town and see a show.
That unlikely possibility proved itself as such, so I didn’t see Newsies – until TKTS changed my life (#dramatic). On our last day, we went to the office in Brooklyn with t-​2 minutes till opening, but the employee helped us right away (no line whatsoever).
Bottom line:
50% off regular-​priced tickets.
Orchestra CENTER, Row H, Seat 105.
Total: $ 80
Experience: Priceless

Have you ever seen the red bleachers in Times Square with the line of fearful/​frantic/​fated tourists behind it that winds for miles and miles amidst traffic, congestion, chaos and bright neon lights?
Well, as you can imagine… it sucks to even walk AROUND it, let alone WAIT in it.
Of course, we all want a chance at some lower priced theater tickets though… so we must WAIT in this dreaded line.
Wait, there’s another option? Yes. In Brooklyn. Directly upstairs from the Jay Street/​Metrotech subway stop. So easy to get to, even if you are VISITING, you can figure it out… and its fast, easy, free of chaos and congestion. Do you need more?
I arrived shortly after opening time (11am) on a Tuesday… and waited approximately 15 – 20 minutes. I purchased 2 tickets to «Baby It’s You» in the 17^th row, with an aisle in the center! Discount: 50 percent for that night’s show. Happy Mother’s Day Sharon… and she LOVED it!

Plus TKTS is a division of TDF (Theater Development Fund), a non-​profit foundation supporting the theater arts, and they are awesome… I also found it interesting that if you are a teacher, public servant, student, etc… you may be eligible for their member program that allows you to see wonderful productions on the super cheap! Unfortunately I do not qualify… but, here’s the info!
