UMD Urgent Care – Williamsburg

This was a great place to seek treatment. I came in with a sinus infection– I was seen right away. The doctor was friendly and we chatted for a bit about our neighboring hometowns. He took a swab of my culture, and then proceeded to give me antibiotics, along with a prescription of codeine for my cough. I was in and out in like 20 minutes, and feeling better in just 2 days. Most efficient healthcare I’ve ever received.
I was also really surprised that they called to check in on me a few days later. If I get another run-​of-​the-​mill something again, I’m definitely coming here! Good work, team.

Extremely clean facility. Very polite staff and short wait time to see doctor. The doctor is super nice — pretty realistic. They also call to check up on you.

Dr. Bride is wonderful. In addition to a great bedside manner, he swiftly dealt with my insurance company to ensure I got the medication I needed by end of day. I am not accustomed to this kind of care at an urgent care facility. It is nice to see.

Had a great experience here after a not so great experience with Kava Tea and possible food poisoning. I went on the weekend and it wasn’t too busy. They saw me in less than 10 minutes and all of the staff I encountered were friendly and kind.
I was a little put off when one of the nurses kept asking me if I wanted more of something (the medicine they gave me)? Shouldn’t they know?
But all in all an A+ experience.

I would absolutely recommend coming here for urgent care. From my initial phone call to this location, to my actual visit at the facility and finally to my after-​care: Truly a 5 star experience. Kindness. That is where the Williamsburg branch of UMD excels. I wouldn’t hesitate to return if necessary.

I went to the UMD to seek treatment for my bell palsy. I was treated by Doctor Chen, he was very friendly and knowledgable, he took his time with me Dr Chen treated me very well, I’m so happy with the result, my acupuncture treatment help me a lot. Definitely be coming back to see Dr. Chen the next time I need medical care.

I went to the UMD to seek treatment for my head concussion. The office was very clean, the staff was very friendly and accommodating, and there was very quick check in and wait time.
I was treated by Dr. Cole. He was very friendly, knowledgeable, and comforting. He took his time with me as opposed to the rushed in and out feeling I get in most doctor’s offices. Before prescribing me medication, he gave me a thorough explanation of concussions in a way that I could understand. He also sent me a pamphlet on concussion after care, which was very helpful.
I was very happy with my visit and will definitely be coming back to see Dr. Cole the next time I need medical care!

My third time here and I would recommend going there if I have a pretty good idea what’s wrong — no wait and staff are friendly, doctors are attentive. Between fighting my bronchitis and respiratory infection in the last two months, this place has really saved me by giving me shot of antibiotic in my arm on the spot. However it all flows little too fast, if you have symptoms that don’t quite line up with standard sickness, I would go somewhere doctors ask more detailed questions about how your feeling. Overall my top choice now to get the meds quickly.

Came here on a weekend and luckily I didn’t wait too long 15 minutes or so. The doctor and assistants were pretty friendly and prompt. The office was really clean and neat, and not busy at all. The price was pretty standard.
As it turns out I had bronchitis which left me sick for about a month so, which I wish the doctor educated me on a bit more. I would have appreciated a follow up call or text from the office like some of the other offices I have been to in the past.
I would return if needed.

I went in this morning (Sunday 12÷13÷15)
They said my insurance was «active» but they would «bill me later».
I refused to receive service, because my insurance told me that I should never be billed later.
As I walked out the door the front desk girl says:
«SO WEIRD», to her colleague standing next to her.
…will never return. Disgrace to healthcare.

Gave this place a try on Saturday. What everyone says is true the wait is short… sometimes a short wait isn’t a good signal for a doctor’s office! Perhaps it means people are avoiding them.
My toddler gets croup a lot. We often have to go to the ER when an attack hits. I now know what to expect and saw the signs that one was coming on. We went in and had a very quick exam… not the greatest care for a toddler but hey i’m there for meds to prevent another ER visit and nothing more. He prescribes the med (vs. having anything to administer in the office). I know this med is hard to get at a pharmacy but made my closest pharmacy request. When we got there. Surprise surprise they don’t have it in stock but can get it for Monday. Not so helpful when an attack is coming. Why would you prescribe a rescue med without checking that the pharmacy has it??? So off we went to the ER later that night. The doctor there (thank god for New York Presbyterian!) said that the right thing to do would have been to prescribe something in pill form that i could have ground up. What a waste of $$, poor service and I will never go back. Useless doctor’s office.

I was on my way to CityMD when I happened past this urgent care facility, and I’m really glad I did! I broke my finger on Halloween and came in the next morning to get it checked out. The wait time was nothing – I was seen as soon as I completed the form. In fact, they had to wait for ME because I chatted with some friends who were walking by for a bit. Wait = SHORT!
I was seen by a pretty chill nurse and then saw Dr. Chen. He was great! Really friendly and professional team and everyone had a good sense of humor. Gave me some x-​rays, an Rx, wrapped up my hand comfortably, and referred me to an orthopedic doctor. In and out.
So glad this place is in my neighborhood!

I’m not one to go to the doctor due to the typical long waits, and big bills that follow but after being sick a few days and seemingly to be getting worse vs better thought I would stop in. Since it seems as all of NYC is coughing or blowing there nose thought this place might be busy but I walked right in about 9 am on a weekday, the lady at the front desk asked for my insurance info and was very knowledgeable when I asked her what was covered etc to avoid a big bill. No more than 10 minutes later I was in a room being reviewed by nurse then doctor. I heard the nurse running the doctor through what I said my symptoms were which I thought was nice so I didn’t have to repeat myself. Doc came in examined me and prescribed me some medicine– even asked which insurance I had as he thought so outpatient treatments would help and made sure they were covered in my insurance. Picked up my meds from local pharmacy and today (day 3) am feeling much better– the cherry on top was the office called to check on me, how nice!

As an Australian tourist only having travel insurance I was a little nervous going to the Doctor in the US but the staff were extremely polite and ver helpful.
There were forms to fill out to see the doctor but where is that not the case The initial fee was very reasonable.
The nurse that saw us first was very relaxed listened well and was supported by very good equipment.
The doctor we saw was young very relaxed, listened well and was able to assist. He subscribed some antibiotics, they arranged for them to be picked up at a local drug store but we could have request any store.
The nurse gave us a discount coupon that we gave to the chemist and we received a discount.
I couldn’t give higher praise. The cost was so cheap it hardly seems fair to claim it. This a good walk in if you are a tourist.

Super clean and no wait. Great doctors. Easy to get to. Great employees, really nice and attentive.

I was really happy to have an urgent care by my place, clean, fast. but my last visit was a disaster, I came in on saturday with a little conjunctivitis (nothing bad so far, but i needed some medicine to make sure i could get back to work asap, yeah because you know, when i miss work i am not getting paid)
The medicine they prescribed me made it really worst, I send a picture /​the name of the product to one of my ophthalmologist friend and here what she said: «nobody prescribe those drops no more, they are awfull, you are doing an allergy reaction» and gave me the name of a ‘safe’ ointment they should had prescribed me instead.
I walked back to the doctor office this morning, expecting, at least, getting my eyes checked, and maybe get my treatment switched, but unless i’ll pay an other consultation they literally refused to look at me. Mistakes happened, that’s a fact, but when i am at work, if i make a mistake, either if it’s my fault or something /​someone else, I, at least try to fix it /​or look into it, AND MY JOB DOES NOT INVOLVE PEOPLE’S HEALTH.

I was really happy to see an urgent clinic close by to where I reside.
They are extremely clean and it is very beautiful inside. The wait was very short — probably 10 minutes or so. The staff is friendly.
Dr. Chen was not the kindest to me and brushed off all of my questions. He argued with me and tried to prescribe me the wrong medication. This was not a good experience for me.

Amazing experience. The staff are super friendly and hospitable. I came in suffering from a stomach virus and was seen in no time. Dr. Cole was kind and knowledgable. If I had to recommend anyone to an urgent care facility, UMD would be it!

I was very pleased with the facilities and the level of service I received. I waited no more than 5 minutes to be seen. Just be aware that your insurance may charge you the emergency room fee rather than your typical primary care physician fee. I didn’t realize this at the time, so I paid $ 50 for services I could’ve paid $ 30 for had I been willing to seek out an appointment at a regular practice the next day.

I was very satisfied with my visit. I barely waited anytime to see the doctor after cutting my finger pretty bad. The nurse was very helpful (and cute might I add). The doctor made a shitty situation feel a lot better. He was knowledgeable and answered all my questions…
Will def come back (hopefully i don’t have to)

UMD is by far the best urgent care clinic I have ever visited in New York. The clinic is beautiful and the staff is incredibly helpful.
I visited UMD while my regular doctor was out of town and without an appointment I was in and out in under an hour. The nurse put me at ease immediately with her friendly bedside manner and despite feeling terribly she had me laughing as she took my vitals and questioned me about my symptoms. The doctor I saw, Dr. Cole, treated me like I was a regular patient and not a one time visitor. He was knowledgeable and great at answering all my questions. Like the nurse and everyone else on staff he was friendly and made me feel comfortable during the exam.
The whole experience felt like visiting my regular doctor’s office. There was no overly long wait or harried staff despite there being several patients in the waiting room. The level of attention and quality of care I received exceeded my expectations and in the event my doctor is ever unable to see me I plan on returning to here.

I was seen about 5 minutes after walking in and had to pay for the visit before seeing the doctor. A nurse took my vitals and checked in about my symptoms, wrote everything down. I was experiencing moderate but constant light-​headedness after having the flu. It was clear when the doctor came in that he had not read through the notes and asked me to pick the symptom I was most concerned about. I was ushered out after 2 minutes with a prescription for flu medicine (even though I had the flu over one week ago) and told to drink coconut water for my light-​headedness.
The place was clean, which earns 1 star. Though people seem to think that a short wait time is a good thing, when it comes at the expense of real care, to me it’s a minus. Not worth my time at all and a total waste of money that apparently could have been better spent on coconut water.

UMD is a welcome addition to the Williamsburg neighborhood. No appointment is necessary and getting in is quick and painless (See what I did there? A medical pun!); I have been twice and both times have waited not longer than 10 minutes to see a physician.
I was lucky enough to have Dr. Cole as my physician; he was friendly, knowledgeable, and patiently answered all of my questions in an empathetic manner (even the ridiculous un-​related questions that showed I had obviously web-md’d my symptoms beforehand). I genuinely felt he cared to help me and wasn’t in a rush to see another patient or push me out the door.
UMD accepts most insurances, and even without insurance (oh the woes of the many Williamsburg freelance designers!), they provide an affordable way to address any non-​life threatening medical concerns you might have. The facilities are clean and new, with a friendly reception staff who even followed up with me regarding a billing question I had expressed. Prescriptions can generally be called into your local pharmacy (RIP, Kings Bedford Ave. Pharmacy) and make picking up your drugs a snap.
In Summary: Are you mildly ill or has your hypochondria gotten the best of you? Does going to your primary care physician for a minor problem in six months time when they can finally fit you in seem undesirable? Go to UMD; You won’t regret it.

I injured my back a few days ago and it just kept getting worse and worse to the point where I woke up today and could barely walk. I stand on my feet all day for my job so I knew I needed to get to the doctor and make sure I didn’t do any major damage. I found UMD online and filled out the registration form ahead of time. When I showed up this morning (without an appointment) I was seen within 5 minutes!
The doctor and the nurse were both very thorough in examining me to make sure I hadn’t done anything too terrible, and sent me home feeling much less worried and with some advice on what I can do to start feeling better soon.
I would highly recommend coming here for any last minute medical issues, and I would gladly come here again if anything else comes up (although hopefully I won’t need to anytime soon)!

The area desperately needed a service like this — I’m so glad it opened!
I went in last week because I had a severe cold and was struggling to breathe properly. I was seen within 10minutes and given an IV drip and antibiotics 5minutes later and then was on my way. All-​in-​all it took about 20minutes — so efficient! The staff were very professional and the doctor was so knowledgeable. I started feeling better almost immediately.
