Wax Double Dippers!!! They like to reuse the same stick into the wax instead of using a fresh one. Totally unsanitary. I broke out from the dirty wax. At least they do a decent eyebrow threading job.

Cheap henna tattoos. The lady who did my tattoo had absolutely no artistic inclinations. I asked for a design below my collarbone, which she executed fine, but she ended up adding two side decals that went vertically instead of horizontally. From a designer’s POV, it was a poor call, but not as bad as what she did for my friend, who asked for a minimalist arrow-​like motif. The henna tattoo for my friend ended up being uneven and just looked stupid. Fast service though — we were in and out within 15 minutes. Relatively clean and the henna they use is good quality — it’s herbal, so great for sensitive skin.

Rozi and Angie are wonderful!!! They did an expert job on my eyebrow threading and then tinted my brows and lashes. It looked AWESOME! they are so kind, gentle, thorough, and smart about the services they provide. I HIGHLY recommend. I will make the trek from Manhattan to their studio in Brooklyn just for them.

I like this place. No break-​outs from getting my eyebrows threaded (because I ask for no baby oil or aloe to be applied afterward). Super cheap ($ 7), super fast, and never a wait. The women are nice too.

I had a brazilian done, on the recommendation of my friend. The aesthetician was quick and it was not too painful. It was Kinda dirty so I probably won’t go back. But it was cheap and fine in a pinch.
–I would suggest to these ladies, that — it is rude for the person who did the wax job/​whatever job, to ask firsthand, if you would like to leave a tip. There should be a system where someone runs the cash register, and they communicate, and the person running your card can ask, OR the option should just come up on a machine, for you to decide. Or, you could be given a receipt with the printing ‘it is not required, but appreciated and customary to leave a tip at your discretion’ — something like that.
Etiquette and manners are really underrated and it makes the New York experience just a bit better.
Anyways, yea. Not a terrible price, and I appreciated the quickness/​technique was everything so I felt little pain.

Why does it say they open at 9 on Saturday when it is a total lie? Change to the correct time please. What are your hours?

Either AVOID this place or PAY IN CASH. I had the same shady service here as Nicole E. (below). I asked for upper lip threading, at $ 5, and needed to pay with card. I very clearly asked the woman to add $ 1 tip. I said this twice, after she kept saying, «$ 2 tip?» and charged $ 8 (extra credit card fee). She then pretended like she THOUGHT I said «$ 2.» Ummm… the word two sounds NOTHING like one. I instantly knew stepping in and sitting down for threading that this woman was shady, even before all this happened. I had a bad feeling. I went in recently, and once I sat down, the woman kept trying to push me to get additional services in spite of my telling her that no, I only wanted upper lip threading… by asking how long it had been since I had my brows done, that she should «clean them up,» telling me I should thread below my lower lip too. Really, lady? When I tell you I only want upper lip threading THREE TIMES, it doesn’t mean you should keep pushing. It’s not the money that’s the issue, it’s the fact that at least one of the women working here provides dishonest service. Add to that the fact that she didn’t do a thorough job of threading my upper lip (there were noticeable areas of stray hairs). I will not be returning.

Been in Williamsburg for 4 years, and this was the first threading place I noticed there. So convenient to just walk in and take care of all of your hair maintenance (threading, waxing, sugaring, etc.) — all at once and for a reasonable price.
I had Gudie the last time, and she was very knowledgeable, quick, and friendly. Definitely the place to go for regular hair maintenance if you live in Williamsburg.

I love this place! I’m 14, a first time threader, and the woman made me very comfortable (didn’t catch her name). I threaded my eyebrows (just did a clean up) and my upper lip. The whole thing only took about 6 – 7 minutes, was cheap ($ 12) and the pain was very minimal. I have a low pain tolerance and I took the threading very well. The redness and soreness went away in about a half hour; it wasn’t really a big deal for me. I’ll definitely be back!

HORRIBLE place. Added $ 3 tip on my card without asking. And also did not tell me that they would add an extra $ 2 for me to use my card. So basically my $ 5 service came put to $ 7 plus the $ 3 tip they added.

Horrific. I lost almost all my lashes because they glued big clusters of lashes to my own lashes. 6 weeks later, some were on and some were off– and I was a scary mess. I went to a few professional lash extension places in the city– and they were SHOCKED by the amount of glue and type of glue used. They could not get them off. The lashes were clumpy and heavy and GLUED to my lashes. I had to literally pull them off– which resulted in each clump pulling 7 – 10 of my real lashes with it. Spend the extra money and go somewhere else.

I have been getting my eyebrows threaded since I was 16 years old. I am now 28 and I have figured out exactly how I like my brows to look. I’ve moved around the city a bunch in the last few years, so it’s been difficult to find someone I truly trust with my brows! The staff at Unique Shape is great; they are attentive and listen to my direction but also do an impeccable job. I always walk out of the salon happy. Not to mention that with your punch card, your 9^th eyebrow is free! Their prices are reasonable especially compared to Manhattan prices in excess of $ 10 just for brows. Even if I move out of this hood, I’ll most definitely come back for Unique Shape!

I go to Rosie here every week for eyebrow threading and 1x a month for a $ 40 brazilian which is the best ive ever had (and i have tried 10 places throughout NYC) Started coming here bc I moved to the area 6 months ago and came as trial. Havent gone a week without Rosie ever since. Money well spent! My eyebrows have never looked better consistently and trust me, the brazilain is really amazing (she gets every single hair and is gentle)

I get my eyebrows threaded here all the time. I love Rosie, she has helped me grow my eyebrows back to the thickness I wanted. They are reasonably priced and have a frequent buyers card.

I’ve been going to this place for 2 months now (once every 2 weeks for eyebrow threading). My friend has also gone here for brazilian waxes. The service here is wonderful. I’m not too crazy about their facilities, but I care more about having nice looking eyebrows and Unique Shape Threading is king at making my eyebrows and my friend’s eyebrows look amazing. Also, whenever my friend and I go here, there’s always a line, and the women always respond like my friend and I do («Perfect!» «This looks amazing!» «I didn’t even know my eyebrows could look this good!»).
(I even cheated once and went to Thread NYC in midtown (apparently one of the highest ranked threading shops in the city), and they were awful. They made one eyebrow longer than the other, and even accidentally pulled out some hairs from the middle of my right eyebrow so I had a gap there. Unique is definitely better than Thread.)
I’ve had my eyebrows threaded by three different women at Unique and they were all consistently high quality threaders (is that a word?). They all take their time to get every single hair, and they make sure the shape is natural-​looking. They are also very quick with the threading, and pleasant to talk to.
When I spoke to Rosie (my favorite), she told me that the key to good threading is not just getting a license, but the experience and exposure to lots of different kinds of eyebrows, so that you know what you’re dealing with and how to deal with it. That she was able to articulate this to me is another sign that she knows what she’s doing. Other eyebrow threaders have not been able to articulate that experience and exposure are necessary for good threaders.
Go here for eyebrow threading. You’ll definitely be satisfied.

In one word: a nightmare. The lady who applied them had clearly no idea of what she was doing. Extremely imprecise application and way too much glue. Couldn’t sleep at night. So bad that I was scared to go back there to have them removed. Went to another place and the professional couldn’t believe the amount of glue she saw. After over 30 minutes of suffering, I finally got rid of the lashes… also lost my own lashes due to this salon’s highly unprofessional practice.
To be fair, I’d been there before for threading and was satisfied. A friend tried waxing there and was also happy with their service.
Just don’t get your eyelashes extensions in this place. I’m someone who always reads reviews so I thought this could be helpful to someone else.
