The Best Salon and Spa

Amazing service and staff. Everyone is so joyful and helping. Always say hello to me even if I have never met them. My stylist Ben did exactly what I asked him too. He kept a full conversation and didn’t get personal at all. He gave me great styling tips and gave me a great haircut. I have returned to Ben numerous times as he is my new stylist! He is great with women’s hair too! I have referred a few women go him that have left their life long stylists to use Ben now! Great JOB to the Best Salon and Spa! You truly are THE BEST!

I have to agree with a lot of the other reviews… the ladies at the front desk are all VERY rude, you get the feeling like you are a bother to them. I hate going in there for that reason. The only reason I go in is for Jasmine she gives a great cut. But as far as the front… terrible!!! Especially for an «up scale» salon… they need to learn some customer service skills.

Had an appointment for a French no-​chip manicure with Helen. I paid full price of $ 39 plus left a $ 10 tip because when I left, I felt the job was done well and my nails looked great. However, there were a few re flags I should have listened to. Helen, who had been practicing for 13 years, did not know the difference of a LED vs. UV light to cure the polish. I asked for LED and I am pretty sure they used a UV light as the light created heat. LED lights do not heat up. Within 4 days my no-​chip manicure started peeling. I called to get it fixed and was told that they are not supposed to last a week. I replied with I paid $ 39 for a one week manicure?!! At that point the manager got on and said Helen would fix ONLY the nails that have chipped. So, I returned and once again, they were looking all over the place for a LED light and gave me a UV one. With in 3 days, the no chip was peeling again. I am more angry at the attitude I got whenI called than the mani chipping. I should only give one star but since Helen tried to make good, I’ll give it two.

I scheduled a pedicure and the first thing I noticed that the person that did my pedicure used no gloves. Second, the water was not hot. I over heard someone say there is no hot water. They tried to start the massage feature on the chair and this particular chair, was broken. The hand control features buttons were all broken as well.
Needless to say, this was my first and last pedicure here! I’ll go back to Mario Tricocci, though they are bit pricy, I’ll know that I’m getting a great pedicure that is safe because they even wear gloves do manicures.

Now I know why they call it the best. I loved how you can get anything done from your head to your feet. The co workers were very sweet and made you feel comfortable. I will be coming here again! :)

Unfortunately I was unimpressed with «The Best Salon and Spa…»
My service provider was great, and provided a wonderful waxing service. However I was unimpressed with the environment provided outside of the spa. I had been going to a different salon but because I moved going to the best salon and spa was more convenient. Looks as though I’ll have to make the drive and continue to go to my old salon.

Absolutely loved the environment. The customer service was great. Ben did an absolutely great job, and that is not something that I say lightly. I have had my fair share of disappointing experiences with stylists and he did a great job of providing the cut and color I was looking for. I will definitely be coming here again.

More than a year after my first time there, Mariola continues to work her magic every single time I go in. People frequently compliment me on my hair and the color is so natural looking. I’m so glad I found her!

My new favorite salon!
I recently moved to Riverwoods and needed a new salon. I called to see if they could squeeze me in the day I decided I wanted my hair done and with no problem got me in. The receptionists weren’t the friendliest but I was immediately greeted by my stylist and it was smooth sailing from there. I am very picky about the way my hair is dyed and styled but Ben listened to exactly what I wanted and exceeded my expectations.
Love this place. Love my hair. Love my new stylist.

Just wanted to give a shout out to this salon. I have 2 daughters, 16 & 18. This may be the only business that does not ignore or dismiss them if they walk in without me. The front staff is wonderful. Always smiling & always try their best to get me in spur of the moment! Janie is our go to hair gal~ she is amazing! We also do our waxing, mani & pedis there. As with any business, sometimes things aren’t perfect. I go right to the front desk & they make it right for me!

WOW! Mariola did SUCH an amazing job on my cut and high lights! She is so personable and makes getting my hair done fun. The highlights are so beautifully blended. I’m thrilled with my experience and my beautiful hair :) I cannot wait to see her again!

I had my hair cut here twice, by two different stylists. Both cuts were unimpressive. The first time, despite making it clear I wanted very long layers cut into the hair to prevent bulk at the ends, my hair was cut off blunt at the bottom, leaving me with a triangular looking cut. The second time, I asked for 3″ cut off, the stylist insisted she loved my long hair and trimmed off maybe 1″. Also, she smelled so strongly of cigarette smoke and mouthwash that I had trouble relaxing at all. For the cuts, extremely overpriced. No shaping, nothing, zero consult either time aside from «how much do you want off today?». While the front desk staff wasn’t hostile, neither were they welcoming…
I also took my daughter to the Moppets (kids) section of the salon once for a bang trim. Huge mistake. This part of the salon gets 1 star, maybe 0. It was filthy and the chairs in bad shape. There were old hair scraps stuck in the vinyl. The stylist very tentatively snipped bangs without using her fingers as a guard, I felt nervous that she wasn’t used to working with fidgety kids. I’ve since found much nicer places for haircuts for me and for my kid.

I’ve been going here since I had enough hair for a hair cut. Alyse cuts and colors my hair and I never worry for a second that it isnt going to turn out perfect. Everyone here is nice and patient and has great recommendations. I would also always get my updo’s done here for school dances or other special occasions. I highly recommend this salon and Alyse especially to anyone! (she cuts my dad’s hair too so men, don’t be afraid — you won’t be the only male there!)

This place is awesome! I walked in here after work one day desperately in need of a manicure. No appointment, no problem. The women at the front desk welcomed me warmly, they quickly found out that I had just moved to the area and it was my first time in the Salon. (btw…I went there on a recommendation from the Barista at the Starbucks on the other end of the shopping center.)
I quickly got registered in their computer, handed a bunch of coupons for future visits and a nice purse sized date book as a gift (yes, I do still use a date book, lol).
My manicurist quickly came to get me and ushered me to her station. She was amazing! Jennifer is not only one of the nicest people I have met here, we really had a great converstation and she did a great job on my nails to boot! She was also kind enough to give me recommendations on other things in the area like doctors and such… so nice to meet such helpful people.
I can’t wait to go back and also try their other services!

I had never been to this salon, it was perfect! I got my hair cut by a random stylist, she was wonderful! I even got an appointment last minute, what a friendly, busy, and beautiful salon.

This review is specifically in relation to the Moppets section of the salon, where they cut children’s hair. My two-​year-​old twins needed serious cuts (not just a little trim). I was hesitant to take them in and get «kid» cuts — I was worried we’d end up with bowl haircuts. Instead, both my son and daughter look fantastic. Megan did an amazing job on squirmy kids with loads of hair. The kids’ area is separate and fun, so no worry about disturbing the adult clients. And they were great about asking if this was the first cut (in case we wanted pictures, lock of hair, etc.). Highly recommend!

About a month ago, I had an appointment with Georgia for a cut and partial highlights. I even brought in a picture that I thought would suit my curly hair nicely. Well, Georgia took it upon herself to give me a full base color, full highlights, and some sort of glaze without even consulting with me about how much extra this would cost me. The haircut was next … I feel as though she pulled one over on me by not styling it curly as I had asked. I should have known that when she insisted on straightening it, that it wasn’t the cut I had asked for. Oh, and included in the cost were two insults. The first was when she told me that the way I looked when I came in was unacceptable, and the second referred to the way I groomed my eyebrows. I have never been so unhappy with a salon experience and can’t wait for Georgia’s «magic» to grow out. I was so excited to think that I was going to have a nice, relaxing experience, and then come to find out that all I got were two insults, a horrible haircut, and have my wallet gauged without my knowledge. Never again!

They are all really nice. If you want an up do, gotta have Anna Marie… she is the best and she has been doing my up-​dos since high school. They are great… do great work… a little on the pricy side, but it is worth it to have good work done. And sometimes they have bagels out which is always nice.
They also have a little boutique with lots of fun jewelry. Make up artist knows what she is doing and is great! There is a reason the are named «The Best».

I came here after a high-​end salon MESSED up my dye job. Janie did an amazing job, and even gave me a free blow out because she saw how distressed I was. It was a great experience. I don’t mind that it gets really busy, because it’s nice to know that people keeps coming for a reason! It is a nice environment to be in… and everyone was really kind!
