RE: DREADFUL TRAFFIC SIGNALS
Dear Mayor Brown,
Why are your stop lights in the City of Buffalo so ridiculous? The timing is so poor on many of the downtown district’s intersections that I sometimes wonder if it’s unconstitutional to «seize» a person’s movements for as long as this department does.
Many days I sit there at the light (e.g. Franklin and Huron) just staring at the poor driver on the other side of the intersection while we both writhe in misery PAINFULLY waiting for the light to change, all while very few or no cars pass through the intersection with the right-​of-​way. Then, one light turns green and the next intersection turns red. Pitiful planning. A lot of these intersections could be stop signs or even blinking red’s and it would fix this terrible issue.
So what do you say, Mr. Mayor? Feel like listening to your constituents and cleaning this up a bit? I mean, the City of Buffalo only has about 75 cars drive through it on a daily basis, so it can’t be that tough. Why should it take longer to negotiate the streets of Downtown Buffalo by car than it is for the Bills to replace Jim Kelly at quarterback?

P. S. I was once parked at a stop light for so long that a City of Buffalo Meter Maid gave me a ticket. That’s a whole other can of worms, or course.
