7th Element Services – Macrobiotic

I may update this review more as I go but I’ve been on Jeanne’s food just for a couple weeks and wow I can feel a difference already. I feel more even keel and positive. Having been the heaviest I ever have been, in 2 weeks I’ve lost 4 pounds and can see it in my face — long way to go though… And for the first time, I’m becoming aware of food as energy and feeling good instead of just satisfying cravings. I feel more productive and have started walking more. Thank you Jeanne/​Patrick for caring and teaching about wonderful natural food!

I had the «PHILLY CHEESESTEAK» SANDWICH at their Full O Life venue today (only on Sundays, 10 am — 3 pm), which is vegan/​macrobiotic. The «steak» is seitan (delicious — my first time trying this), forgot what the «cheese» is (has a little strange texture, but tastes good), open-​faced on sourdough bread, but what really did it for me were the CARMELIZED RED ONIONS (which ranged the spectrum from a few small pieces on the rawish/​limp side to full-​on crispy = YUM!) I forgot to take a photograph, but I will definitely have this again (and I hope they will allow me to order extra onions!) There were side garnishes of fresh carrot slices, shredded red cabbage and marinated cucumber slices (paper thin) with some unidentified bluish/​black seeds in marinade (seeds were a little larger than sesame seeds, but I don’t know what they were — maybe chia?). The mistake I made was ordering 2 sides (their wonderful fresh green salad with faux ranch dressing and a cup of pureed [butternut?] squash soup that had a bit of «pumpkin spice» type flavoring), which ended up being way too much food, because the «Philly Cheesesteak» filled the entire dinner plate (something I wasn’t expecting!) I also had organic coffee for the first time in my life, which is definitely different from «regular» coffee, but I liked it. I don’t know how to describe it — it almost reminded me of some of the pumpkin-​spice flavored coffees I’ve tried, but better. As an aside: I heard someone complaining about the «Philly Cheesesteak» while I was there… If you’re a meat-​eating he-​man who’s used to eating «the real thing,» then it probably won’t make you happy, but if you’re an adventurous foodie (such as myself), then you will probably appreciate it for the «art form» that it is.

Amazing to find delicious gluten free and vegan or just vegetarian options for a brunch! Whole family loved it!

So glad I found 7^th Element through a friend. I was going through a health crisis a year ago when doctors found a large tumor in my colon/​rectum and the only solution they would offer me was surgery to remove my lower colon and rectum… terrifying! I had a consultation with Jeanne and she gave me a lot of information to start changing my habits and diet. I’ve always eaten fairly healthy, but I didn’t realize by eating wheat and dairy that a lot of unwanted things were happening to my body, namely this tumor.
Just like Jeanne said, after staying on this diet for awhile, my tumor started to dissolve. In fact after six months, doctors said it looked completely different from the initial diagnosis and I was able to undergo a less invasive procedure (EMR) to have that tumor removed.
I continue to stay on the 7^th Element diet plan. I am a very busy person who hates to cook, so having food delivered is one of the best decisions I’ve made recently. I am so grateful for Patrick and Jeanne, also to my doctor. And most importantly… never underestimate the power of prayer and God’s healing!

My wife and I decided to give 7^th Element a try for their meal service. I don’t profess to be any kind of expert on Macrobiotic cuisine (occasional Inaka customer since the 80’s), but I do know food that is expertly prepared where the flavors are pronounced and married perfectly. All grains and legumes are artfully prepared and easily digestible. The green rolls which are made with marinated cabbage wrapped in collard greens are little masterpieces. The bean dishes are delicious and lively, not at all boring. Same with root vegetables. I really can’t say enough about the quality of this food. I think I will keep going MB for a while and let 7^th do the cooking.

I attend Jeanne Beveridge’s (7^th Element) cooking classes at Burbank’s Full O’ Life market that take place on Wednesdays p.m. or Thursdays a.m. I also buy meals from her. These classes are so informative, so tasty, and so much fun. During the course of an hour, she makes two dishes, discusses in depth the what’s, why’s, and how’s of macrobiotic cookery and philosophy, and at the end we eat. After a lifetime of poor eating habits, my body finally rebelled. Casting about for solutions, I decided to try macrobiotics. What a wise and fortunate decision (for a change)! It’s a way of eating and living that makes ridiculously simple, pure, perfect, harmonious sense. While making such radical changes can be a bit uncomfortable at first, the gratitude the body feels (and expresses via a shedding of weight and ills) make it so very worthwhile.

I love 7^th Element food and I am not even vegetarian much less macrobiotic vegan, which all the food they prepare is.
Patrick is an extremely talented chef — especially considering he works with nothing even close animal products. Seriously, this stuff is great and they are using only the freshest organic ingredients — I am a true believer in their products.
I have used both the meal service and bought products a la carte at the Studio City Farmer’s Mkt and Full O’ Life health food store and I really can’t say enough good things about this company and their products.

They bring the meals to you! How easy can it get? This grouping of trained chefs put their heart & soul into preparing meals that are amazingly good for you.
Made FRESH every day and you sure can taste it!
If you are making any changes for the better in your life this is definately one of them. I slim down, my bags under my eyes go away if I stick with their food. You can see results… this food is that healthy and damn tasty .I now crave it when I dont have a chance to eat it daily.
This is not a sit down meal service, they deliver to you.
If you need to get on top of your diet and dont have time, this is a great service!
