Two Men and a Truck Pasadena

I moved from Highland Park to Alhambra in early June 2016 and had a very positive experience with Two Men and a Truck. I found the process to be streamlined and stress-​free, which is as good as it gets when it comes to moving!
John in the Pasadena office got me all set up and was very responsive to my questions. I was quoted $ 135/​hr with a 2 hour minimum, which was pretty cheap in my opinion. I moved from a one bedroom apartment in Highland Park to a one bedroom apartment across town in Alhambra, and it only took about 5 hours for the whole process. I was afraid all of my stuff (I have a LOT of stuff) wouldn’t fit in the 26′ truck, but my things barely took up half. Phew!
The office called me the morning of the move to tell me they were running a little behind and were going to add another mover free of charge. Even though the movers showed up in the time window the office quoted me (between 7 and 8 am), I was very impressed with the initiative the company took to go above and beyond for my move. My movers (George, Jesse, and Toure) were very professional, friendly, and careful with my belongings.
I only lost 2 dishes in the process (and they were cheap glasses I got at Target – easily replaceable!) I packed my own dishes and truthfully didn’t pack them very well so it was my fault they broke anyway. George was proactive and offered to call the manager to let them know of the damage to my things (he could have easily hid the broken dishes from me). I thought that took a lot of integrity and appreciated the gesture.
If (when) I move again, I will absolutely use Two Men and a Truck again! ¹⁰⁄₁₀ would recommend.

This review has been long overdue, but nonetheless, here goes…
I used this company for my move from Los Angeles to Las Vegas. The two guys that were there to do whatever was left to pack did a great job. The only time they took a break was to eat and then went right back to work. GREAT JOB GUYS!
Their day managers were just as courteous except one other that came towards the evening. He claimed that it was taking his guys too long to pack a 2 bedroom apartment which should only take 4 hours, and that may be true, but I had a lot to move. I didn’t get rid of anything because I was moving from a two bedroom 970 Sq ft. apartment into a 3 bedroom 2489 Sq ft house. Mind you… my son and I did 80 percent of the packing and left all the big items for them to pack and move i.e., beds, dressers, drawers, TV’s sofas etc. I wanted them to pack my kitchen (pots/​pans/​glasses/​etc), but I helped by doing it myself using their boxes (3).
This Hispanic Manager came and asked (with a tone on his voice), who gave you the quote? Did he see what you had? I responded, yes and all the boxes that my son and I already packed. I explained to him that I only wanted his people to pack the «big stuff» and I will do the rest so I can save me some money. He was insinuating that the quote was wrong because I had too much to pack (he was sighing). Again, Mr. Manager, my son and I did most of the packing.
I found him to be rude and at one point obnoxious. To make a long story short… Mr. Manager… I was only charged maybe 3 boxes because my son and I DID MOST of the packing. A word of advise, I was informed that you were in the military and I applaud you for serving and protecting our country, but get out of that «Drill Sergeant» mode and take some serious customer service training because you really need it. Because of you… I gave it 4 stars.
Other than this manager, the two guys who moved my household goods were great!

This was such a positive moving experience thanks to Two Men and A Truck! Our move from L.A. to the Las Vegas Valley was as stress free as it could have been. To begin with Two Men beat everyone else’s quote. Secondly, Pablo and Ivan were 30 minutes early which worked out perfect, and finally they got our things safely to Nevada and put in a lot of hard work for us. We truly appreciate all the help, thanks!

I wouldn’t go so fast as to give them a stellar review. First of all when giving me the original estimate they of course tried to upsell me on everything from boxes to mattress bags. Once I told them had all that stuff taken care of, then they offered to take everything a part for me, again, I would do that myself. All I needed from there was for them to show up, move all the stuff on the truck, drive to new house, unload all the stuff. A max 6 hr job, because that’s all you were required to do.
So the movers show up and they took 6 hours just to load. And another 6 hours to unload. I would find them walking in the house with just a guitar in their hands. Purposely trying to draw the time out. I found one of them talking to my property manager, just running his mouth as if he was not on a time clock. So basically, since I didn’t need their boxes, since I didn’t need them to take stuff apart, since I didn’t need them to do anything other than move, they decided they would take their sweet time with loading and unloading the truck, thus making me have to pay an hourly rate because they charge by the hour.
I’ve moved 3 years ago and the movers I had took 4 hrs to load and 2 hrs to unload because, again, we are always prepared to go when they arrived.
What Two Men and a Truck did, was basically move slowly so that they can charge me a higher rate. So what should have taken 6 hours, they drew out the 12 hours. ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!!! And I will NEVER use them again. And I’m filing a complaint with the BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU.

Moves are stressful, no doubt about it, but with Two Men Pasadena at the helm it’s as easy as 1, 2, 3. It started with a simple home review and consultation with Jon. He was knowledgeable and informative — Anna promptly addressed all of our customer service questions — Jose and Rubin were a dream during the loading and off-​loading. We’ll use them again, no doubt about it.

They were on time, honest and quick despite charging on an hourly basis. I had Jose and Ivan as my movers. Wrapped everything well but not overwrapping to run up the clock. Fair priced relative to other movers. Can’t complain.

I am always cautious about using services like this because of horror stories I’ve heard, but I now have renewed faith because these guys are great! Julian and Ruben were very professional and arrived on time. The whole process took less time than expected. I highly recommend using these guys if you ever plan on moving.

This company beyond met our expectations. From the preliminary call to schedule our move, to the movers who helped us (Julian and Ivan), response to questions, to follow-​up — they were outstanding. This company is really about customer service.
Our movers were phenomenal — they were extremely polite, professional and hard-​working. They would not stop for rest breaks. They were consistent in their role and were truly easy to work with.
This company made a very stressful time as easy as possible (let’s face it, moving is difficult and stressful). We are 8 months pregnant with a 1 year old and had to face the challenge of moving, and Two Men and a Truck made this challenge possible. We are very grateful to them and very satisfied with our service.

Overall, the service with Two Men and a Truck was good. Customer service for setting up the move was good and the movers themselves were nice and professional.
However, I had a couple of frustrating moments in the move that would keep me from recommending this company.
The main concern is that I had to leave the site before the movers were finished packing. While I know this is not ideal, I couldn’t avoid it this time. I met them at my destination and all was well. However, when I went back over to my old place to do a walk through, I found several items left at the unit. To be fair, I had asked them to leave a few things behind, 4 pieces of furniture and 2 appliances, with a few cleaning supplies. However, they did not pack or move several other smaller items including some pictures, boxes that were packed/​taped, fireplace tools, a few bags, a rug, trashcans etc. I felt I was clear in explaining everything goes with a these few exceptions, but I suppose I was wrong.
When I contacted customer service, they offered me a sincere apology but couldn’t do anything else because I wasn’t there through the duration of the pack.
Another smaller concern: they attempted to call me at 7:00 am to confirm a 8:30 am arrival. That was fine, but when I answered the phone, no one spoke… maybe a bad cell signal? I tried to call the number back several times but there was no answer. I ended up calling their offices and getting more than a few call backs in the course of an hour. In the meantime, they contacted my backup number (my girlfriend) trying to get a hold of me… just a little disorganized.
I’ve had much worse experiences with companies, but for the price I paid to move a 2 bedroom condo (plus loft) I don’t feel like I got a great value. Especially after finding the left behind items in my old unit. Thankfully, it was all smaller things I could move myself, but isn’t that the point of hiring movers? To not have to move things yourself unless you want to?

We were fortunate to have found these folks, as in searching for a light duty mover, several recommendations were in hand, but all were booked for our needed time. This franchise of Two Men & a Truck is a new one, but the organization is nationally based (out of Michigan), and the folks experienced, with all the proper credentials. Jonathan Coppage was our first contact (and our last (follow-​up after move) as well). Armando Casimiro and side-​kick Robert Banuelos called prior to their on-​time arrival, carefully wrapped our new (to us) sofa bed, and very carefully maneuvered it into it’s new home. This activity was then followed by the relocation of a couple of massive pieces of furniture (both with extensive glass and mirrors) that again proved to be uneventful, due to the careful handling by these two gentlemen. This whole activity was seamlessly executed in a time frame that allowed a celebratory lunch to follow. Excellent job!

Two Men and a Truck went above and beyond our expectations!
We moved from a two bedroom apartment in Riverside to a loft in downtown San Diego. We had everything packed up and ready to go by the time they arrived.
— They took extremely good care of our stuff. They wrapped all our equipment/​furniture in high quality blankets and were very careful when loading/​unloading.
— They were very efficient. They arrived exactly when they said they would and they were like ninjas getting everything loaded/​unloaded.
— They were flexible. We had an unexpected hiccup where the HOA for the building said no move-​ins after 5pm. They unloaded our bed so that we could sleep for the night, and arrived the next morning to finish unloading.
— Their price was right. I thought their price was very fair and worth it to save me the hassle of moving to a new city for the first time.
Overall a fantastic experience with this company, really great group of people — both the drivers and the customer service. We really felt taken care of.

If you’re shopping for a moving company, look no further than Two Men and a Truck. In your search for a moving company you must consider the cost per hour, the size of your home (how many rooms you’re moving), and the size of furniture or appliances that may require more than two guys to lift and move. In addition, find out what size truck the moving company is suggesting based on your home, how many guys are being sent out to move you, the cost per hour, and the cost per extra men required for your particular move.
In my search, I had originally booked another company that was going to be charging me less, but their estimated time was 4hrs maximum, using two moving guys and a 20ft truck. IF my move went over the estimated time, the rate would then increase to a higher rate than the original ate. I was referred to Two Men and a Truck by my realtor agent. When the arrangements were made using TMT, the estimated time, the number of guys moving me, and the truck size seemed far more reasonable and realistic. TMT’s estimated time was 6hrs, but their time cost beyond the estimated time remained the same. In the end, it did take more than 6hrs and 6men to move my entire two story home and garage, but the rate didn’t increase and the men took great care to wrap all my furniture and appliances so that nothing would be damaged in the moving process.
The three guys who mainly moved me were Alejandro, Josh, and Armando. Alejandro, the main lead in the move, explained and walked me through the process of taking inventory of my home items, detailed lists of these items, labeling every item being loaded onto their trucks, and the wrapping of everything that wasn’t boxed. Alejandro was very respectful and careful with all of my belongings. He made certain that his crew were well coordinated in handling all heavy items in teams so that my items were being moved safely and to avoid damaging items or injury to his crew. Alejandro, as the main contact person on moving day, is the perfect man for the job. His calm demeanor helps makes a very stressful experience all the more manageable for the client and his crew. He was personable and assured me that all I needed to do was just to sit back and relax while he and his crew did their job, and that is just how it felt… relatively relaxing
Note: On the day of my move to my new place, the operations manager Ed Razo came by to make sure that my move was going smoothly and to gather customer feedback. He asked for my candid opinion of the moving experience experience with his crew and if there were any problems he needed to be made aware of. One of my appliances sustained some damage in the move, in addition to an irreplaceable side table that arrived with a broken leg. Ed quickly filled out paperwork and assured me that his company would resolve the matter within days. That same day he sent back Alejandro to take a report and photos of the damage. The next day, Ed sent Tony Bourne, who filled out additional paperwork to file a claim. He then made some calls to appliance and furniture repair places and within a day an appliance repair company provided and estimate of repair costs to TMT and my almost new fridge will have doors replaced and my table will be fixed and back to me within 3 weeks. Two Men & A Truck sent an employee over this afternoon to check my satisfaction with the repairs to my side table and the refrigerator doors that were damaged and replaced by TMT. I’m very impressed with their level of professionalism from every employee I came in contact with. I would highly recommend TMT to anyone I know without reservation.

I just received an estimate for a cross country move for $ 17,000. No joke. I mean I get that it’s cross country but are you serious??? Van lines and other moving companies have quoted me $ 2−3k and when I told the girl that she said «well you get exclusive use of the truck with us». Umm I have a studio apartments worth of stuff. I don’t need a whole truck! Who would agreed to pay that??? Absurd.
