AMC Media Center 8

Kind of a no-​nonsense, no-​frills, smaller movie theater inside the Burbank mall on the 3^rd level. The seats are small, the arm rests don’t move and I believe there’s only one bathroom. But hey, it’s not crowded, you don’t have to pre-​select your seat and they have coke zero. We really only went to this AMC because we had gift certificates and Star Wars was showing at 5:30pm on a Sunday. Would probably choose one of the other Burbank AMCs from here on out, just because of the seats.

There are three AMC theater in downtown Burbank. This AMC is located on the 3^rd floor of the mall. Parking structure behind the mall.
There are about 8 small theaters at this location. Kind of outdated theaters. The seats are small and not as comfortable as other AMC theaters.
The theaters are kept clean.

We bought tickets at Costco since they’re cheaper. The place was clean and had a bar on the left when you walk in. I love their surround sounds and the theater itself is spacious.

I like this old AMC. It’s never crowded because the one next door has the stadium seating and a giant upgrade on everything else. This one is cool because it’s old style flat seating, and even though it’s in the mall the other location attracts the loud teenagers and theater cell phone users. Nice staff. Standard over priced snack bar. Crappy popcorn. Love it.

best place for a movie.

I visited AMC Media Center 8 most recently on Christmas day, you know, one of the most popular days to see movie. And I have to say: I’m not impressed.
A theater this size probably needs twice the normal staff to handle the huge influx of people on the 25^th. Despite having bought our tickets online we waited twenty minutes to pick them up (thus making pre-​purchase largely pointless). A lot of people were having difficulty with printing their tickets. But was there an attendant anywhere in sight? Nope.
Once we actually got the tickets, we went up the escalator and immediately backed up into a monster line. People could barely get off the elevator. Ticket taking was incredibly slow.
The inside of the lobby was dirty. And the bathrooms were disgusting. Paper was piled up in huge wads on the floor. I’ve seen gas station bathrooms that were in better condition. Actually, MOST gas station bathrooms are in better condition.
Perhaps I’ve become accustomed to slightly more managed theater experiences where attendants help with seating (and seating disputes), but there was not a single usher in the rather large theater we were seated. It was basically chaos
Suffice it to say, I would pretty much prefer to go to any other theater in Los Angeles rather than return here.

This is the apocalypse of theaters. The concession stand actually smells like BURNT BODIES covered in butter. And the floors looked like those bodies were slaughtered on it first, before they were ROASTED on a spit on the counter. Then slathered in butter.

The only reason to go to this theater over AMC Burbank 16 is if they’re showing something that the 16 isn’t, which was the case with me. There was a limited release film that was only showing here. Any AMC you go to will sell you $ 6 movie tickets before noon, which is fantastic. But if a movie was playing at this theater and at the 16, there’s absolutely no reason to go here. It’s dirtier, no stadium seating, and less of a selection of films (typically).

Decent theater and not crowded at all. Bathrooms were clean ya’ll…thats make or break for me.

I’m used to the assigned seating and huge theaters but this was small and inexpensive, I was scared about fighting for seat but it ended up not being an issue

Just close this place. you want to see a free movie, go ahead. most people don’t purchase tickets from the window anymore they use the Kiosk, It wouldn’t had mattered the girl had her back to the window so nice customer service and I don’t’ know why we bothered to buy tickets, there was no there to take our ticket! There was even a guy asking what movie are you seeing? since he was seeing all the movies for free apparently. Maybe if I really wanted to see a movie and was broke I’d come here, but I highly doubt it, I’d rather pay to go to a different theater

it’s outdated really. but you can’t ask for much from an old theater in an aged mall. but for this particular evening, it served it’s purpose. and my friend and i were the only one’s in the viewing room. if you’re into that, amc 8 may be your spot.
don’t expect much, but a good old time with your friend, date, anything in between, especially on the later showings. walking out to an empty mall was a treat.

Media Center 8 is a much smaller and older theater located inside the Media Center Shopping Mall. Nothing fancy at all: really no state of the art movie screens, sound system, and the seats were nowhere near comfortable. Musty smelling theater auditoriums and sticky floors complete the movie going package.
Why do I come here when there are two much more modern theaters nearby? No real reason really but due to it’s low tech standards, this theater is much more quiet and not as crowded. This place is okay when you want to get away from opening night movies and crowds.
Basically amenities such as a small concession stand and fairly clean restrooms are available.
In other words, you come here when you can’t get into the other theaters.

This year I went to this theatre for the first time in probably 7 years, and nothing has really changed. This particular location is the bare bones movie theater, with no 3-​D, IMAX, large screens, or fancy sound system.
The only reason to go to this theater is to avoid the crowds of the AMC Burbank 16, at least in my mind. The price of $ 10 for a daytime movie ticket is a bit much in my opinion, but that is just how it is at AMC Theatres. And the sticky floors and seats help prove my point.
This theater is not terrible, but it is nothing special. If you want to see a movie that has been out for a while, want to avoid the long lines, and have no need to see it in 3-​D or on a giant screen, then give this place a try.

This is the theater in the mall, and its alright, this theater is the least comfortable of all 3 theaters in Burbank, the seats are pretty old fashion, but still its not too bad. I came here, yesterday paid $ 10, I guess that’s the matinée prices now. They have a pretty good concession stand, and a clean bathroom. Overall not a bad place to watch a movie at, but if you can go to another movie theater I would.

Ugh. Overpriced (but to be fair, I’m from Houston, and movies there cost $ 9 MAX, and a matinée is $ 6 or less), and the whole place felt like it was covered in a thick layer of scum that no one has ever attempted to scrub off. We took our son here for Kung Fu Panda, and I didn’t even want him to sit in the seat.
Just… gross. We won’t go back.

Like my fellow reviewer, Tristen P., pledges, this will «defiantly» be the last time I’ll go here. It will also definitely be the last time I go there.
I just came back from seeing The Savages. I’m not sure why I didn’t see it when it was at the Arclight, but alas, I didn’t. I figured the AMC would at least be cheaper, but as it turns out, not by much. (You don’t have to pay for parking like you would at the Arclight, but you do have to walk through a suburban mall to get to the theater.)
The opening credits of the movie consists mostly of senior citizens dancing. When I saw the film, they were all squished due to an absent and uncaring projectionist. But it did look sort of artsy and cool, so I didn’t know if it was a deliberate decision on the part of the director. But once the film started, and you saw a similarly squished Phillip Bosco write «Prick» on the walls with his shit, it was clear that this was not a movie that was trying to look all artsy and cool. (It’s actually quite an intentionally ugly movie, except for when Laura Linney is onscreen.) I left the theater and politely asked an usher to get the projectionist back in the booth, so that he could do his job.
And then, of course, you have to watch all the videotaped commercials before the movie starts. Which is annoying and also a bit confusing for those of us who don’t like hearing people talk during previews. Is it okay though to talk during a commercial for the Army or Coca-​cola?
Why can’t all movies just be at the Arclight? (Or at least at the Vista or Los Feliz 3? Or the Sunset 5?)

I’ve seen two movies here and it will defiantly be my last. The first time was when we saw Pirates of the Caribbean 2, or as we refer it to Butt pirates of the Caribbean. Yes the movie sucked along with the seats and noisy theater people. For god sakes shut up when the movies playing. You’re not the only one in the theater and you talk to loud.
Second time we saw Beerfest. Hilarious movie but our movie experience was short lives when we sat down in those cramped, stiff seats, the lights never went off and the sound was super low.
We sent EJ Kroppinator to investigate. He complained the sound was low and they went to fix it… only to have the sound go even lower for about five minutes then back to the original level we were hearing.
After the movie we all went to complain. They were nice enough to refund our money and give us free passes to our next visit but you can count on my next visit being at the AMC 14. Better seats, better venues, better all around.
