Ok i love YMCA everything is great about it and all .
Honestly this 3 stars review is to get the management and people attention about this:
The chubby guy at the reception desk from the parking area door is extremely rude and totally should not be at the front desk dealing with people .
And Sorry for using the word (chubby), its because it is the only way I can describe the guy, i don’t know his name

I love this gym !! They provide childcare, perfect for moms and a lot of group exercises! I only have one complaint. has no steam sauna in women’s private room. Dry sauna only.

This review is specifically for the pre-​school:
My son is very happy there, which is the most important factor in writing this review, though I have to note the well-​structured curriculum, arts & crafts activities, and generous physical activity spaces for the children. What’s more, the school has partnered with a catering service and offers the kids morning/​afternoon snacks as well as lunch, and they seem to have really good food. My son asks to go to school on the weekends and frequently says he has fun there!
I do have a membership at the fitness center at the YMCA, and my experience of it has also been positive, though I will admit that convenience plays a huge role with my son next door.

The staff at this YMCA are accommodating and friendly. We had an especially good experience signing up with the help of Jodi.
Now that we have been going consistently for a few weeks I have a few main points I think make this place worth the money and more. The first is there is usually parking during the day when we go. It is never too crowded even in the afternoon. People are friendly. There is plenty of floor space for just about any work out plan.
My kids love the dancing and we plan to sign them up for swimming and gymnastics next season. If I remember I will post more about that experience.

Ymca is great. I use to go here to swims no the lanes are a good size. The weights are good as well

I just joined this YMCA last week and after reading some other reviews I decided to toss in my opinion. First of all, this is a very popular YMCA so at first it was a bit trying to find out how use the pool facility for my specific needs. I’m not a swimmer but I needed to find a schedule to use the pool for my specific exercise program. Thankfully, I met with Carrie the Membership Director and she listened intently to my needs. She also introduced me to Tara and Rita who oversee the pool area and I appreciated how Tara helped me find the best times for me to use the pools. I feel rather silly because once I got used to their overall scheduling it really wasn’t too difficult. That said, the help I received was excellent and overall I was very impressed with the staff.
In closing, the Burbank YMCA is a great facility and everyone has been friendly and helpful every step of the way. I am grateful for smiles and hellos as I walk through the halls and I look forward to taking advantage of some of the other great programs they offer. For now though, it’s just the pool.

We just join the Y… Unfortunately not to happy with the fact they didn’t disclose my 11&13 year old children won’t be able to use any of the cardio machines, that was one of the reason l sign to the Y. They should inform Us that!!! Not too happy

My husband and I joined the Burbank Y when we moved here and have been regulars ever since. The staff are friendly and helpful. The ActivTrax exercise program is awesome — I’ve never stuck with my exercise regimen this well before — it keeps my workouts interesting and challenging. I haven’t tried any of the classes yet, but plan to soon. I wanted a gym that was close by, well maintained, and NOT intimidating for a middle aged, nonathletic person who just wants to stay healthy. I am really glad to have found the Y.

I was reluctant to make the switch from Crunch to the YMCA. I loved Crunch, but when it came down to it, it wasn’t realistic for both my husband and I to have memberships there (to expensive). There were also no classes for kids. We toured the Y with my 7 year old and he said he wanted to make the switch that day. The classes are fabulous (for kids and adults), equipment is up to date and they just have so much to offer. Members get a great discount for swim lessons and they also offer open swim a few times a week. The Stay n Play is super fun for the kids. It’s not as pristine as Crunch– more like a community center, but I am A-​OK with that. The spin classes at the Y are also WAY better than Crunch Burbank. There is so much to do for the whole family. Totally worth it.

Some of the staff is really nice and professional but for the most part every experience I have had with the customer service representatives has been ridiculous. They rush customers, have side conversations with other customers usually in Armenian and completely ignore the order of lines.

Been coming to the Y for yeeeears and I love this place. It’s become my second home. I was never a big gym rat but the classes the Y has available and the staff are so nice, the reason i’ve been coming here for 4 years :)
When there are no classes I want to take I head upstairs to either the cardio room or the strength room. Great variety of machines to target any area on your body.
I love that they’re non-​profit and have events like the Turkey Trot or Zumba-​thon to raise money. I wish they’d use the money to buy new speakers in the main club room or weights though, I swear there’s an uneven number of 12 pound weights which is kind of annoying, but I don’t care enough to stop taking the classes.
Facility is always clean, staff is super friendly, they know you by name and take the time to ask how your day was.
Can’t say enough great things about this Y, they really helped me turn my life around and I am a much happier, healthier person for it.

We have been going here just for a few weeks. We have a preteen and a teenager and most gyms have limited activities for youth.
I enjoy most of the classes and the cardio room is state of the art. I like going on a treadmill or elliptical and watching the news or listening to music. Very smart.
I haven’t used the pool facilities cause I’m not sure about the open swim schedule for adults and kids.
The weight room needs to be better ventilated and yes, the building is kinda small. Parking hasn’t been a major issue, so far.
Our only issue is that there are only a handful of classes for my preteen and we tried family Zumba one day, it was not family oriented at all. Mostly women and the choreography was too complicated, I felt like the ladies around were annoyed that I took my son. It was just like regular Zumba. Thinking of getting him involved in sports, just to have more options.

This is a review for the Junior Lakers basketball for kids. Words of advise — Don’t do it! We signed-​up my son here thinking it would be a better program than the one offered at the Burbank Rec Center because it’s double the cost, but we were so wrong. The coach was there maybe for one third of the practices and games. With that said, my son never learned the fundamentals of basketball. When the coach was out during practices, the practices often were run by a bunch of teenagers and started late. The kids would just get in a line and shoot baskets. Really? I could take my son to the park to do that for free. Also, because the coach was absent often during the games, they would just have some random person who has never met the kids ‘coach’. That simply means he gets to pick who plays during each quarter. We have taken my son to many programs both sports and enrichment activities, but this is the worst. On the last day, the coach had the audacity to ask the parents to sign-​up for next season, and says he will be there next time. He said he was too busy coaching for another team which was why he was almost never there. Seriously??? Almost $ 200 for a waste of a program. Unless you want to throw away money, stick to the Burbank Rec for basketball. More money isn’t always better. Oh, one more thing, the communication is awful too. No one ever notifies you of anything. If there was a zero star, this program would warrant it!

Love this place! They offer so many programs for people of all ages and free child care!
The facility is clean and the staff is courteous and professional. Their dance program for kids is outstanding and the instructor is amazing with young kids. She also teaches gymnastics and is fabulous.

This YMCA has reinvigorated my desire to both serve the community and enjoy the benefits of being a community. From the Turkey Trot, to the Easter Egg Hunts put on by this YMCA I have enjoyed countless opportunities to reach out to and support almost every aspect of the local Burbank Community. The facilities are always clean, the staff very friendly and always helpful. The work out rooms are well maintained and for early morning work outs and yoga classes you really have to come and visit on a Saturday! What you pay in price as an Individual is the Value you receive as a Community Supporter and Member when you join. I also enjoy the juice/​snack bar! Keep up the Zoomba!

My wife and I have been regulars at the Burbank Y since September 2012 and have nothing but good things to report from our experience. We go early in the morning Mon/​Wed/​Fri to work out and take a great Kundalini Yoga class on Saturday morning. We run an energy coaching practice and are sensitive to energy, which at the Burbank Y has always been welcoming and friendly, with a special mention due for Brando, Mike, and Elroy who can always be relied on to lift one’s mood if needed.
We use the cardio, weight and youth rooms and always find them clean and the equipment in good working order. Trainers are generally available for advice if needed, and there are members who are trainers and enjoy sharing their advice also.
The Kundalini Yoga class with Tania is truly a perfect way to start the weekend, and we always leave feeling great and energized.
There’s something else special about the Burbank Y, which isn’t always apparent to those who use it. The leadership here have a big heart and put their contribution to the community ahead of money, and will not turn away a potential member if they are not in a position to pay. They run a wonderful event on Thanksgiving called the Annual Turkey Trot which offers 5k and 10k races for around 2,500 runners, with their entry fees going toward scholarships to support members unable to pay membership fees.
And, if volunteering is your thing, the Y offers many opportunities to do so, including at the Turkey Trot, and in other ways as well. The Burbank Y is what I’d call a heart-​centered business, whose leadership looks for opportunities to do good in the community.
My wife and I feel like family at the Burbank Y. It’s much more than a gym, and I highly recommend it to anyone who’d like to work out in a friendly, family atmosphere.

After five months since we withdrew our daughter from this school, my husband and I look back and know that we’ve made the right decision. No longer does she come home with an incident report that a heavy, plastic crate fell on her head because it was not properly stowed by one of the caretakers or she tripped on a mat and bumped her head on the metal grill because a mat was careless left out in the play area or she has bite marks all over her from other children.
Instead, she is happy, healthy, active, and shows early signs of giftedness. At her new school, the teachers teach her based on her interests and level of understanding, not her age. At the Y, she would have been unchallenged by their two year old curriculum and, based on the persistence of the director, she would have been «stuck» there for another eight months, like a sort of preschool purgatory.

Nice place to work out — not too busy except rush hour on the week nights, and even then, you can usually find parking if you arrive just as classes are being let out. Plenty of machines and free weights to use, and the kids love taking swim classes here. The staff is very friendly — possibly TOO friendly if you’re an attractive girl (luckily, I’m not. Wait — I mean I’m not a girl, I’m plenty attractive!) Price is right, and they even have free daycare if you can’t find a babysitter.

A-​OK. The spin room is a little out of the way but they have a wide array of classes, pool, gym supplies and weight room.
Some issues:
The pool can get over run with youth who are NOT doing laps and the life guard people don’t curb those issues
The pool lap lanes will get taken over by fat old ladies who hog the whole lane. Not cool, ladies, not cool.
There is no air conditioning which makes the cardio room brutal.
It’s for that final reason I cancelled my membership, but I really support what the Y does and the services it provides.

We’ve had a blast at the Y. The teachers and staff are great. April (swimming) and Jodi have gone out of their way to get my kiddos into classes (ballet, gym, swimming, etc). the rates are reasonable and a good bang for your buck. I should take advantage of the Zumba and yoga classes. Childcare provided free too. Only issue is parking, but you can always park at the mall. We heart the Y ;)
