Emerald Knights

The staff here is incredibly friendly and helpful. I’ve only been here twice, but the guys behind the counter recognized me when I came back in. Most of the time I see shops like this who cater to their regulars – but I felt like a regular on my second visit!
I came to play Magic: the Gathering, for which they have multiple events weekly. There was an upstairs loft are that had a lot of people playing tabletop games as well (from what I understood, it was a mix of Warhammer and others). The tournament organizer, Martin, is a super cool dude. Very organized and also prompt. He learns EVERYONE’s names, which scores a lot of points in my book. Much better to have him make a connection than, for instance, point and say «you’re paired with that guy with the blue backpack.»
New to the area and trying to find my go-​to stores, Martin and his coworkers were very welcoming. I would definitely recommend Emerald Knights to anyone interested in mtg, or if you are new to gaming and want a healthy environment to learn. The other patrons at the store were also friendly, mostly everyone was between 20 – 30 years old.

I visited Emerald Knights on Friday night (Nov. 27) and got amazing customer service. My friends and I popped in to find a new board game to play that night. The staff recommended Dead of Winter to us, explained why they recommended it and said that if we had any trouble with the rules that we could call in for help.
About an hour later we were stuck on some rule and took up the staff on their offer. They promptly answered our rules questions and said that if we needed any extra help that we could call again. I wish I could remember the names of the individuals who helped us that night — their customer service was above and beyond. Definitely will be coming back for more games in the future.

This place is amazing. They have great service, and are extremely nice, as well as the community is super nice! They had exactly what I needed for my deck in MTG, and had another deck, as well with cases, sleeves, and dice! Again, this place is amazing, and if you need stuff for MTG, dungeons and dragons, comics, or more, this is a great place I would recommend!

Pretty indifferent towards my visit at Emerald Knights.
The store itself is wickedly cool. Lots of nerdy stuff to check out, areas to play games, and a clean atmosphere. My biggest problem was the prices.
I went in there with the intentions of buying a couple board games (King of Tokyo and Catan.) I did a little research on Amazon prior to going just to get an idea of what I’d be paying. Emerald had both games (YAY!) but both were marked up significantly compared to the Amazon prices. I asked if they’d be willing to price match and they respectfully denied. So, I left and figured I’d just buy em offline and wait.
Then I came across both games at Target! And they were willing to price match Amazon.
So in the end, I got what I wanted. Emerald Knights is, again, a really cool store. But you can save some money buying elsewhere.

I went there and got the infinity gauntlet… It was awesome! Emerald knights is the place to go if your a marvel fan like my nephew!

Cool stuff and fair prices.
Bought a membership and I will be back. The only reason they did not get a five star rating is because of their minimum purchase rule if you want to use a credit card.
I loathe this practice by small businesses. As stated by the owner the act he mentioned does indeed allow businesses to charge a minimum fee of up to $ 10 and I have revised my review accordingly and given them an extra star.
I apologize for my ignorance about the matter. I rarely carry cash when I’m out and if I stop by a store to buy something and they’re like nope can’t do it we need you to spend more… well it isn’t exactly accommodating.

A gamers heaven. Anything game or comic related this is the place. If you are looking for a unique fun gift stop here.

This store seems to primarily entertain card games. Which I have no problem with at all! It’s super cool cuz they also stay open later than most spots :) the staff is friendly and everything seems to be easy to find. They always have stuff I want but I just never bite the bullet and buy! Whenever I’m in burbank I always stop by! You should too!

Anyway, I’ve been going to this place for some time. I used to buy a lot of games here, but now I’m into buying RPG accessories. They’ve got a pretty wide selection of miniatures (both metal and plastic).
However, you can get better deals on the internet on particular games. This is kind of the sad truth with all Mom and Pops owned game stores. In the past, they did offer a membership customer program where you could get deals on purchases. I’m not sure if they still offer it though. The other upside is that you can ask the staff if they’ve played the game before and get their opinions. Sure, you could go to
, but there’s a certain advantage to having a face to face conversation over a bunch of message board post.
Occasionally the staff will hold special promotions where you can learn how to play specific games. This is usually in conjunction with the publishers of the game. Seeing how lately board games have gotten a little deeper in recent past, a lof of these sessions would make great tutorials. I ended up going to a couple for Monsterpocalypse, and had a pretty good experience. A friend of mine does a lot of Star Trek Attack Wing stuff, and loves going to them.
If you’re wondering about what kind of games are out there, and not a complete shut in, try dropping by. The staff for me has ranged friendly and approachable. I haven’t run into anyone who was disingenuous yet.

Elitist, pretentious and rude staff. They have a ridiculous 14 day return policy and are completely uninterested in helping you if you aren’t there to partake in their RPG tournaments.
Save yourself the gas and harassment and just buy your game on Amazon!

Three weeks ago, completely out of the blue, I became interested in boardgames. Lucky for me, I live in Burbank. I went down to EK and could not have been more pleased. One more reason to love Burbank! The staff is KIND, KNOWLEDGABLE and took the time to answer all my questions. I felt welcomed and taken care of.
The store is nicely laid out and the merchandise is easy to find. So far, I’ve bought two board games from them. I can honestly say, they have a new customer and I look forward to many more visits to the store. Bravo!

The Emerald Knight is, handsdown the best comic book and gaming spot in Burbank… probably the entire Valley.
First off, the people are extremely friendly. You will be approached quickly and asked if they can help you find anything, but it’s low pressure. If you’re just browsing, say so.
Selection is high as far as I’m concerned. I always find what I am looking for.
The atmosphere is very clean and upscale, with TVs located on walls throughout the store playing movies and other things.
Love this place.

The layout is great. I love this place but mainly for their great selection of items that you can use for Miniature games. They have the Star Wars game which is awesome, ample space for D&D and plenty of map items for terrain.
However for their Magic I felt myself wanting. Their Magic singles are almost 30% higher than what you can get online, a lot of times almost 40%. I understand it’s retail and everything but it doesn’t give me an incentive to shop their wares.
I generally like their tournaments, but the structure and payout wasn’t clear, nor was it, in my opinion, very fair.

I understand the 5 $ random, and the previous week I was told it was just because they only had a tournament of six people that they did it Undefeated gets the bulk and a random to the last person.
I then found out from 1^st and 2^nd that they only received 12.50 $ each.
We had a pod of 8 people, entry fee is 5 $.
1^st-​2^nd split — 25 $
5 $ Random.
10 $ seems to have gone missing, or been ignored, or kept by the store.
I was kind of excited when I found out they were offering promos to everyone, with first picks going to winner and then down the line.
However, placing third, I had the glorious options of Thopter Assembly, Tome Scour, and many other cards, that even if combined, didn’t make up for the gas it took to get there.
I love playing Magic, and I’d happily come here and play for free given the atmosphere is nice, but their prize payout leaves much to be desired.
I’ll definitely come back because it seems like there’s a few people who play the new Star Wars Miniatures game, which seems fun.

Went back here last week on a wednesday morning to look for a book. Although they did not have what i was looking for, this establishment always exudes a customer friendly atmosphere which i personally appreciate. So far all my visits here have been pleasant because the staff are helpful when you need them. They don’t seem to discriminate between customers which is great too. Other comic book stores have staff and owners who only pay attention to their buddies which is weird for me because why run a business if you will accommodate only regulars and buddies. You’re basically limiting your possibilities that way.
I can’t say if i have interacted with the owners but its very possible and i just did not know who they were. I don’t even live anywhere near this part of town but it’s always a pleasure to drive here when i need to. The popular comic book stores where i live aren’t many and those establishments are douchebags to non-​regulars.

I come here on a regular basis for playing the collectable card game, Magic: The Gathering. I only give four stars because Emerald Knights does not catalog their massive collection of single cards, which makes customers search through boxes of cards (this can keep the purchase price down, and one can discover some great deck additions) — but when I can’t find what I’m looking for, I feel like I’ve burned up too much of my time.
This place has fantastic staff who are willing to give you attentive, friendly service. Emerald Knights has an excellent selection of comic books, board games, and top-​notch availability of community-​use board games of all kinds. Not to mention the collectable games like Magic: The Gathering, HeroClix, WarHammer, and the like.
The parking here is AMPLE, so this is a great place to meet-​up with your friends for a game night (or day, even), or even to meet fun new people at a special event or a game tournament.
If you come here often, I highly recommend buying a yearly membership. The membership will give you discounts on tournament entry fees, and it will also practically make your other purchases tax-​free.
Another plus about this place is that they allow outside food to be eaten in the store — so if you’re going to be here a while having a good time, you might as well get something delivered. Also, Champs Sports Pub is across the street, and Coral Café is down the block if you want a change of venue to hang out, so there’s that.

We had an issue during an event that didn’t sit good with me at all with a staff member and the owner personally reached me via my cell and apologized. He will make this right and we plan to visit the store again. It’s refreshing to see an owner deeply care for his store and doesn’t simply say that’s that.
It’s a great store and things happen, at least here if you have an issue reach out to the owner jay he’ll make sure to address it.

EK has the some of the best gaming space I’ve ever seen, with an upstairs devoted entirely to playing tables. The staff is always really nice and knowledgeable, and they have a killer snack selection.
Their stock of models isn’t always great, but they can special order stuff for you to pick up when you come in next week.
The crowd there is very personable and kid friendly, and I have met several people that have become permanent additions to my social life.
They regularly run events and game days for a wide variety of games and all of them are ran smoothly. This place is awesome!
