Great place. Really comic people, very friendly, even during the craze of free comic book day. Great selection, particularly in the back room.

Guy working there was a smartass, the lady working there was very helpful… Other then that cool comic book store.

I had a an old friend from my college days, Jason. Jason knew a thing or two, was a true comic book guy, always showed up on new release day to get a peak at the inventory & he liked his things mint. The House of Secrets was Jason’s comic book store. I trusted Jason because he had nice taste.
The House of Secrets is nothing short of awesome. The store is loaded — comic book pages are embedded in the stone floors, posters cover every inch of ceiling, the walls have toys, comics, framed art prints and all sorts of eye candy to admire. The inside feels warm & friendly, their songs coming through the stereo system speakers are hip. This place is nothing like Comic Book Guy’s shop from «The Simpson’s» — House of Secrets is big & bright, complete with a gang of gurus who are happy & helpful.
I was looking for a gift my 1^st time in, a birthday present for a four year old boy. That’s when I met Eric & that’s when I dropped Jason’s name. Eric knew I was good people & meant business. He remembered Jason, treated me like gold, I even walked in on Eric’s birthday — I’m talking, the day Eric was born — and Eric is helping me pick out a gift for a four year old! The whole experience thus far, thick with positivity & I haven’t even begun to browse.
Back to the mission: get a youngster interested in this form of storytelling. We decided on an 11“X17″ House of Secrets art print… framed. Paul took care of the mounting & preserved the piece behind glass and whoa, mama. The gift was a hit. Professional framing done in only a couple days, a slick border with beautiful mat & our friends at the shop threw in a few free comics. The free comics were dismantled & used as wrapping paper to cover the frame.
Yes. Everything was a perfect. My 4 year old said, «Wow! It’s a really cool painting!» and now has a wonderful business, I fully support, hanging proudly on his bedroom wall.
House of Secrets, man. This is where my little guy will learn about good guys & bad guys, heroes & evil doers. We’re looking forward to each of our adventures in Burbank!

This place is excellent. From the décor, to the artwork, and even music selection. I have been buying here for over 2 years now and most of that has to do with the excellent staff. They always make you feel welcome, always have a smile on their face and they indulge in excellent conversation with anyone and everyone. They are extremely accommodating and go out of their way to get you what you need. I have had a subscriptions to at least 3 or 4 different comic book stores and this has been my favorite. Highly Recommend!

Place is pretty cool great staff and helpful — they have lots of back issues silver and Bronze Age. I would recommend it!

IMHO Golden Apple and Meltdown get a lot of the acclaim for being *the* comic shops in LA but House of Secrets has them beat by a mile. They have the perfect mixture of old school chill comic shop and bleeding edge toys/​accessories/​ephemera.
Best yet? The employees are open, inviting and super helpful. When you walk into the store you feel like you’re among friends. No oppressive «fanboy» culture going on. Oh, and check out the floor! Even the floor is themed!
Can’t say enough good things about this place. If you’re in LA and looking for a comic shop you absolutely MUST check this place out.

Good customer Service and nice staff, a big selection of back issues ranging from silver Age to modern Age & reasonable Prices. I had a very nice conversation with the owner and he gave me a 10% Discount.

Great store packed with lots to offer despite being in a small space. Friendly, approachable staff. Well-​stocked graphic novel section and quality back issues. Nice layout and fun atmosphere with cool stuff everywhere you look.

One of Burbank’s greatest secrets. A huge selection of comics, graphic novels, books, and great vibes. Whatever you’re looking for they have it. And the staff is really cool and helpful. Stop on by, you won’t be disappointed.

I’ve been to this store several times over the years and I’ve never been disappointed. My recent visit was probably the best yet. There store is well lit, clean and organized. The person working (owner I think), was friendly and helpful. And for me, the best part, they had an excellent selection of back issue comics at fair prices. I’ll definitely go back when visiting the area.

House of Secrets is the best place to buy your comics, trade paperbacks, graphic novels, and other cool superhero related stuff. The store is beautifully designed, and staffed by the world’s friendliest comic book people. Parking is a breeze too. Ask about their pull list, it will save you tons of money over the years, 20% to 25%. I’ve personally saved about 47 billion dollars by shopping there, since 2004. (My savings might actually be less than that amount… cause I don’t keep accurate records, but, it’s still a lot, whatever it is). For sure, you can use your huge House of Secrets savings to buy plenty of cat food.
Seriously folks, you won’t find a better comic book shop anywhere in the San Fernando Valley… or in the entire world. Once a week, I drive ALL THE WAY from Encino, to Burbank, to get my superhero fix, at the House of Secrets. It’s a long and painful drive… especially where the 134 and 101 split, and I’m in the 2^nd lane to the left, which is moving really slow, and cars in the third lane are speeding by, and cutting over to the 134 at the last second. Oh man… that’s so frustrating.
Anyway, long drive or not, I will keep going to the amazing House of Secrets, until «The Big One» sinks California into the ocean. But, of course, we all know that won’t happen in real life… because, Superman will fly around the earth at incredible speeds, reverse the flow of time, and save us all from that disaster. Wait… if Superman could fly that fast, why wasn’t he able to stop both missles? And wouldn’t reversing the earth’s rotation actually cause more earthquakes and major damage? If you have no idea what I’m talking about here… just go to House of Secrets. Their knowledgeable staff can answer all your questions. Go now!

All-​around awesome store with a friendly staff!

Definitely my comic book shop of choice. They have almost everything and they are very knowledgeable and friendly. Great staff and atmosphere. Another plus is that its very close to home. The only negative thing I can say is that they don’t have YUGIOH cards, other than that this is a solid choice for comic book readers. 5 stars.

This place was my favorite comic shop in LA the second I walked in. It really is the best when it comes to layout, size, ambiance, selection and customer service.
They have a perfect balance of back issues, complete sets, current releases, hardcovers, trade paperbacks, art books, and toys. There’s a couch if you want to kick back and read something, music playing, just an overall great vibe. I’ve had great customer service every time I have visited as well. They also sell MyLites here which is great if you like to store your books in Mylar bags.
Highly recommend this shop for a complete comic book shopping experience.

Best. Shop. Ever. I love everything about this place. Great prices and their employees are all fantastic. Wonderful store. I’ve been to A LOT of comic shops and this one is by far the best.

Very friendly and helpful, even with a seven year old a two ADD, disoriented parents.

A while back, my kids and I saw the employees helping a longtime customer organize a wedding proposal in the store. It was our first time there, and was a glimpse of the kind, engaged people who work there.
Although it’s farther from my house than other comic book stores in the area, it’s worth it.
The employees encourage and take interest in my kids’ purchases too.

Owners Paul and Eric are the coolest comic book geeks you’ll ever meet– they really make this store the awesome place that it is. They’re so knowledgeable, funny and just straight out nice guys. Talking to them makes you feel like you’re their favorite customer, even if it’s your first time in the shop.
Not counting it against the store but some of their employees over the years have been kinda blech, to put it nicely. One guy was totally reminiscent of «Comic Book Guy» from The Simpsons in regards to his shape and his attitude (but because that made it all the more laughable, one couldn’t really get mad about his lack of customer service), while another (Asian female) employee gave me attitude because she didn’t feel I was deserving of the special customer discount. This was after I specifically asked for it because she didn’t give it to me when ringing me up. But anyway, I digress…
This place has great deals on all the graphic novels you’re looking for if you prefer to support local businesses versus purchasing books from Internet giants like Amazon. If they don’t have it in stock, they’ll order it for you if it’s still available and call you to let you know when it’s come in.
I’ve told people about this place and how great it is. There are three comic book stores so much closer to me than House of Secrets but you know what? I’d much rather hop on the freeway and make the drive all the way out to Burbank and give them all my business than go anywhere else. That is how highly I think of this rare gemstone of a business.

There aren’t many comic book stores left in LA, so it’s nice to have one that is well maintained and has friendly service.
The staff here is very helpful and knows their stuff. They will accommodate you if you’re new to comics or looking for a particular book or issue.
They aren’t stocked with lots of back issues and mostly focus on new releases but you can still find some. They do have a great selection of graphic novels and collected editions. They also have some fun toys and other collectibles.
I’ve never been disappointed by coming here and always founded what I needed.

Been to a lot of dive-​y, crammed comic book stores in my day (bc of my husband), and this one is not one of those!
We have a tradition of coming here every Sunday. Particularly for the staff member that works on this day. It’s also less busy than a Wednesday. Love walking in and having someone know your name and we’ve met some cool new friends here as well. Has a lot of personality as well. Not just rows of comics, but great art pieces and a couch!
Usually find parking in the front, there are two spaces at the back too.
You can create a pull list as well, so if you know there is something coming out that you want, and will sell out, never fear! They got your back.
I love seeing families come in with their kids, guys and girls come in with their partners/​spouses, and just the loan guy. It has a great selection and you really get to know people. It has become a little community for us.
