We specialize in carrying a selection of fine instruments ranging from violins, violas, cellos and bows to strings and accessories. In addition to making fine instruments and bows, Nazareth Gevorkian Violins performs a range of services from repairs for stringed instruments to complete restorations, acoustic adjustments and bow repairs and re-​hairs. We also offers instrument and instrument outfit rentals.

Meet the Business Owner

Nazareth G.

Business Owner

Before making his mark in the strings trade, Nazareth got his start as a violinist & violin teacher. He started studying from the age of 7 & has performed as a professional violinist for over 40 years. He graduated from the State Conservatory of Yerevan in 1973.

In 1974 he moved to America & continued his career as a professional violinist playing with The Honolulu Symphony & various So Cal Symphonies.

Nazareth has 25 years of experience in the fine art of violin & bow making. In 1991 he studied under the very famous William Salchow — one of America’s most renowned bow makers where he learned the craft of bow making & under Jon Vanderhorst where he learned the preservation & restoration of fine bows. From 1991 – 2005 he worked in the famed Hans Weisshaar Violin Shop where he learned the art of violin making & restoration.

In 2005, Nazareth established the Nazareth Gevorkian Violin Shop where he has been making & repairing violins, violas, cellos, & bows for musicians for 10 years.
