SpringHill Suites Los Angeles Burbank/Downtown

I really wish I would have read the reviews. Horrible, horrible staff. I arrived for a 2 night stay and booked through orbitz. At $ 300 a night I booked a double queen room with a sleeper sofa because we had 5 people. When I arrived they had the audacity to tell
Me my room was not available and that I had to stay in a room with a King size bed and a sleeper sofa with 5 people. 3 of which were adults a 10 year old and a 4 year old. Then they go on to tell me my room is not guaranteed and that all hotels do this. Really?! Wow. I was really amazed at their treatment. We arrived after midnight and their website says room check in until 2am. They then tell me the manager will be in the next day. What manager? They told me this for the night I arrived and the next day. I could not leave to enjoy my vacation because I was stuck waiting to see if they would be able to switch me to the correct room and no reimbursement. Thankfully orbitz was amazing and refunded me the awful night my family and I spent cramped in one bed! Parking?! What parking?! If you arrive after hours be prepared to circle the streets because their garage area is packed and their excuse is that they are close to Universal. Worse experience ever. Hotel rooms are nice, but change your staff!

I’ve stayed here for work a dozen times and it’s perfect. Close to the airport and the hospital that I visit, but most importantly is close to Porto’s! Breakfast is included with the stay, but I only trust the oatmeal. The staff is attentive, friendly, and housekeeping is very courteous. I forgot my toothpaste and within 2 minutes, I got fresh toothpaste delivered to my door. There’s parking on the street, or the orion for covered parking at 15 a day. Plenty of restaurants nearby, and plenty of restaurants that will deliver to your room.

We stayed here for 2 nights for a visit to Universal Studios. We were very happy with our selection for lodging. We chose this hotel because it was part of the Marriott chain. The hotel I think is less than a year old. We didn’t care for the sliding bathroom door and the fact that the vanity was not separate from the toilet/​shower. The room was comfy, a good TV, refreshing pool/​spa. The free breakfast maybe the best free hotel breakfast I have ever had.
If going to universal studios this is a good place to stay. It was at most a 15 minute travel from the hotel. A big plus is that there are lots of dining choices within walking distance if you walk 2 short blocks North.

We hadn’t heard of this Marriott brand before, but decided to give it a shot. I’m so happy we did! We stopped here before a day at Universal Studios-​the rooms are spacious, with a study/​lounge area, king bed and good bathroom (loved the shower). The tv gives you the ability to connect to Netflix/​Hulu/​YouTube (with your own account).
There’s a complimentary breakfast in the lounge area-it’s a pretty good complimentary breakfast-​all the usuals you’d expect but also some fresh pineapple and strawberries which were a great change from the usual melon medley hotels give.
There’s a pool/​hot tub and a really nice deck area with fire pit, seating area and giant chess!
Parking is $ 15 but there’s free street parking next to the hotel as well.
My only small complaint was that the front desk agent was very unenthused and fairly unpleasant when we checked in. But still, 5* and I really recommend this hotel!

We recently spent a weekend with friends visiting out of town at Spring Hill Suites. This hotel is nicely decorated with a modern look with spacious clean room, outdoor pool deck, friendly staff and breakfast buffet is included with your stay. It’s only 15 mins drive from the Bob Hope Airport and lots of good restaurants nearby.

This place it’s really nice and also the people that work here. I would stay here again next time.

Loved this hotel! Extremely clean, good size rooms, close to the studios and fairly reasonable price. I didn’t mind the $ 15 parking charge, compared to downtown LA this is cheap

Its clean sheets smell great. Online check in worked great as we checked on at 1230am. Free breakfast. The only annoying thing is very little towels and the tiniest shampoo conditioner EVER.

Picture this:
Families with children, babies and elderly. They all just want to sit and enjoy their breakfast. However… Sadly they can’t. All that is available is a «lounge» with bar style seating. People are standing and even sitting at the nearby computer station eating their breakfasts. It is extremely tacky and classless to not have actual dining style seating for your guests. Oh and don’t get me started on the plastic cutlery and paper plates. How ridiculous and ghetto!
Oh and my major bone I have to pick is not having a single high chair… Yeahhhhhh at almost $ 300 a night per room. I think you guys could at least swing the purchase of a few high chairs. Don’t worry. I held my 9 month old on my lap during breakfast. Which is better than the lady that had no where to sit but the computer desk and popped her baby up on the desk.
UNBELIEVABLE. Awful. Just awful.
2 stars because the room was clean.

We stayed here for one night after spending an entire day at Universal Studios, which was only about a 15 min drive. The lobby is so nice once you walk in. There’s a small market, and a lounge area. We had a king size bed and once you walk in the room it has a really nice feel and looks clean. Our room was on the same floor as the pool area and we had a sliding door that let us right out to it. Unfortunately we had no time for swimming, we were completely drained from being at Universal Studios all day (and Disneyland the day before). The bed is AMAZING! It’s SO comfortable and cozy! We slept really well! The room is really modern along with the bathroom that has a sliding door, walk-​in shower and a really nice/​modern sink area.
Complementary breakfast from 7a-9:30a, they have a good selection– potatoes, eggs, bread, bagels, juices, milk and cereals, and coffee and a few more items.
They do charge extra for parking– $ 15/​day.
I would definitely recommend staying here. If we are going to be in the area again I would def book this place again.

Best hotel that I have stayed in!!! My family and I spent March 11– March 14, we arrived at the hotel from a long 6 hour drive at 11am. We were extremely thrilled when the hotel staff was able to check us in early and get some much needed rest. Thank you, Thank and thank you!!! All hotels that I have stayed in the past would not let us check in us til 3pm. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful at all times. Breakfast was good, although I would hope they would stop servicing until at least 10am. The gym and pool were awesome, best of all the rooms were very clean.
There is alot if parking on the streets if you arrive on a Friday and stay over the weekend. Downtown Burbank is within walking distance with many restaurants to eat from. I would definitely stay again!!!

Was here for 10 nights on business, with a large group (we basically had the entire hotel by the end of the week). The stay was fine, but it wasn’t great.
STAFF
Housekeeping is friendly and was super accomodating if you needed them to come back later. They were flexible and actually came back if you requested it. The breakfast staff was also very friendly. We were checked in on mutliple times, and the dining area was always clean. The front desk staff was hit and miss. Some people were able to help, but others were unhelpful.
ROOMS
Rooms are nice and large. There is a lounge/​work area with a couch and desk, then the bed on the other side.
Beds are comfortable — bathroom is a good size and has a large shower. Towels were always replaced and clean. The TV has all the channels, plus netflix, hulu plus, youtube, and crackle. (You’ll need your own accounts to login to those). The TV is on a wall mount and rotates so you can view it on the lounge/​desk side or the bed.
HUGE PLUS — There is a coffeemaker, mini-​fridge, and microwave!
BREAKFAST
It’d just be better if there wasn’t breakfast at all. I’d rather have better wifi or free parking. Removed half a star because I hate paying for bad services that I don’t use.
INTERNET
Free wifi, but it’s SO SLOW. We upgraded to the faster speed for $ 5/​night, since my company was paying. It didn’t really get faster, and I was refunded the upgrade fee. Removed a full star for the awful internet speed — come on, it’s 2015!!!
PARKING
I know most hotels charge for parking, but in a city like Burbank, this isn’t acceptable. My company paid for my parking fee, but still would rather have free parking and no breakfast. The garage is weird too, it doesn’t directly connect to the hotel, so you have to walk out onto the street, into the lobby, and to the interior elevators to get to your room. That’s a long way to haul luggage. Removed half a star for the strange parking situation.
LOCATION
The location is nice. There is a mall and lots of restaurants in the area, in addition to many restaurants delivering to the room for free.
CONCLUSION
Had the internet not been so bad, I would stay here again. I know that some of my other colleagues were in a couple of the hotels down the road and had MUCH FASTER internet, plus all the benefits of the location. I would probably stay at one of those hotels next time.

SpringHill Suites was close to the airport and Universal Studios, which we planned on going to. It was a nice hotel. It had an outdoor patio with a fire pit and pool. There’s a bar and lounge. WiFi and breakfast were free. Breakfast was standard and ended at 9:30 AM. Rooms had a microwave and mini fridge. The living room and bedroom were separated. The TV was oddly placed between the two. The only other issue was not enough counter space in the bathroom.

I stayed here several weeks on business and really enjoyed my stay! I would recommend parking on the street instead of paying for garage parking because there was plenty of free street parking.
All of the hotel rooms were new and modern looking but my favorite rooms were the ones with glass showers. The room had a refrigerator and there was a Trader Joe’s right down the street so I would buy lunch for the week to bring to work. I’m pretty sure this hotel room was bigger than my apartment at home because the bathroom was huge and there was a separate living room space with a TV. I never went swimming but the pool area was nice and there was a fire pit. The gym was standard and had treadmills, benches, weights, etc.
The continental breakfast was free and had a large variety of foods and drinks. There was a Minute Maid juice machine, pastries, bagels, toast, ham, cheese, bananas, strawberries, etc. They even had hazelnut and vanilla coffee creamers which was a nice touch. My favorite breakfast was a bagel with cream cheese, ham and cheese. This hotel is located down the street from Downtown Burbank and I would usually eat dinner at Mama Hong’s or Kopan Ramen.

Nice, clean hotel with a pretty lobby. This is our hotel of choice when we go to Universal Studios. The double queen suite w/​sofa bed is a decent size and fits 5 of us comfortably. The sofa bed doesn’t come with beddings, but it’s easy to call housekeeping for that. The pool area is nice and clean. The rooms have a microwave and mini fridge which come in handy when you’re with kids. There is a blue button on the right side in the fridge for flash cooling (2 hours of continuous cooling). Don’t forget to press the button when you put your water and soda in the fridge. The hotel offers a decent breakfast in the morning complete with eggs, potatoes, sausage, oatmeal, cereal, waffles, coffee, juice, among other offerings. Parking is $ 15, but there are in/​out privileges.

The check in was very easy and smooth. I believe the hotel is new and it’s very nice to be honest. The lobby lounge is nice and there is a bar.
I had sown thing come up that I won’t get into details about but Melissa who checked me in was great and very helpful and I appreciate everything that she did. Great service and I I’ll definitely be back to this hotel and hopefully will be back soon!!!

Stayed here for 10 nights. The stay was good, but there are a few things that really need improvement.
— STAFF
Most of the staff are really good. Housekeeping is efficient and friendly, and unlike most hotels, if you tell them to come back later, they actually do come back and make sure your room is made up. They have no problem working while you’re in the room.
The breakfast staff is also very friendly and staff members went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. For example, a staff lady offered to microwave my plate when she saw that my cheese wasn’t melted.
The front desk people are unpleasant and useless. They hardly ever answer the phone when you call the front desk and are unhelpful when they do. Whenever I went downstairs, the front desk people were always leaning on walls and looked bored out of their minds. When I talked to one of them, she didn’t bother to stand up straight to answer my question. And her answer was incorrect.
— ROOMS
The rooms are very nice and spacious. There is a fairly big couch, and a very large desk to work on.
The beds are comfortable.
The TV has all your favorite channels, plus netflix, hulu plus, youtube, and crackle. But you need your own accounts for those. The TV quality is great, and the TV can rotate for the perfect view from wherever you happen to be in the room at the time.
The bathroom is spacious and clean, and the shower is good. The towels are clean and fresh and the staff is always asking if you want your towels replaced.
There is a mini-​fridge and a microwave.
— BREAKFAST
The breakfast is quite terrible. The eggs are bland, and the sausages look like they’d been eaten before.
The donuts are a waste. But the muffins are amazing!
The juices are watery!
They serve Bigelow tea. Not my favorite kind, but it works. I didn’t try the coffee, but it’s available, regular or decaf.
They serve the LEAST popular cereal brands and flavors, except for Fruit Loops. But you know, I’m not four.
They only have waffles on the weekends… a very weird policy.
The breakfast closes at 9 am on weekdays, and at 9:30 on weekends!!! That’s way too early!
But they don’t mind at all if you take your food up to your room, which is convenient.
Most of the food is inedible, but they do serve a lot of stuff that they buy from grocery stores, like yogurt, milk, cottage cheese, toast, English muffins, cream cheese, butter/​jam/​peanut butter. Stick to those and you’re good.
— INTERNET
I was excited about the free wifi, but the internet here is the slowest I have experienced since I had dial-​up internet 20 years ago. They give the option to upgrade your speed for $ 5 per day, which I did, but the speed did not improve at all. (They refunded the money.)
I am really not being high maintenance here. The internet is so slow, you can’t even download a 10 MB attachment. It estimates the download time to be an hour (!!!) and then «fails» sometime during the download.
Remember in the TV section above, when I said there was Netflix, Hulu and Youtube? Yeah, good luck with any of those. You can’t stream anything, because the internet is way too slow.
You can’t even play the videos on your facebook feed! Unless you use your data plan instead of the hotel wifi. Unilocaling takes forever. The pictures don’t load. It’s just so frustrating.
They advertise and advertise about the «complimentary internet,» but it is disgustingly slow.
If you don’t care about internet, then this might not bother you. But I am really disappointed because they shamelessly advertised their «high speed internet,» and it was anything but that.
— PARKING
They offer parking for $ 15 on their property, no valet. There is street parking around the area, but each street has some parking rule that you need to watch out for.
If you come on the weekends only, you can park right outside the hotel for your entire stay. On weekdays, those spots are limited to an hour from 8 am to 5 pm. So if you come on Friday night, you’re okay until Monday morning.
— LOCATION
The location is great. There is a shopping mall and so many great restaurants in the area, many of which deliver straight to your room for free, using eat24 or grubhub.
— SUMMARY
Overall, I enjoyed my stay. Everything was clean and looked pretty. And the location is really good. But I rely heavily on a stable internet connection, and their connection will stop me from staying here again.

One of my worst hotel stay experiences ever. The fam and I stayed here for 3 nights (Wed-​Sat morning) and the entire experience was very disappointing. The main issue is with the set up of the bathroom and their complimentary breakfast.
My bathroom didn’t have a bathmat to begin with but a bathmat showed up on day 2 only to disappear for day 3. Our second room had a bathmat on day 1 but not on days 2 and 3. Why was this an issue? Why did we even have to notice that we were missing a bathmat. Now never mind the bathmat, what about those tiny bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and lotion? Well one of our rooms only came with one bottle of shampoo and condition but no lotion. I didn’t even know there existed lotions until I went to the bathroom in our second room and saw they they had a lotion (and bathmat!!) So the hotel should have ensured that we had all all three and at least two bottles of each. Never had I ever stayed at a decent hotel where a 2 bed hotel room had only one bottle each of shampoo, conditioner, lotion. Never!
And the number of towel bars/​hooks was not enough for three people in a room that should sleep four!
The breakfast was worst than anything I’ve ever eaten in a college dining hall — now that’s saying something. They have the standard selection of faux eggs, oily or dry sausage, dry potatoes/​rock hard french toast sticks. The OJ was watered down and the coffee was extremely weak. now considering that it seems like the main clientele is business men shouldn’t the coffee be decently strong?
Perhaps this dismal experience is the result of staying at a new hotel. But while everything looks new and pretty (they have a human sized chess set and fire pit near the pools), the experience of staying here left much to be desired.

Went to a concert at the Greek Theater and stayed here. So glad we did. Absolutely gorgeous and very clean. Loved our room. Complimentary breakfast until 9:30am Happy hour at the bar 5−7pm. Pool hours are until 10pm and the patio is open until 11. The gym is very very nice and clean. You will need your room key to access the pool and gym.
The staff was very accommodating and friendly.
Definitely will stay here for our concerts

I stayed here for a job from Thursday to Sunday and the accommodations were outstanding. I’m literally writing this review in their lobby while I get some work done. I’m already checked out but really feel like this property deserves recognition. I fee comfortable here, so might as well get a little more work done.
Upon arrival, every person has made me feel welcome. Even the simple «hello» never gets old. The staff takes great pride in the property. It’s evident in their activities. Someone was always maintaining the place. As well, everyone on staff, on every level was super courteous to one another.
The obvious — the hotel is brand new, only two weeks old. And although this is a moderately priced hotel, the interior is stylish and luxurious. That is very clear when you walk in.
Parking is super convenient. You’re not having to park far away from your room. It’s easy enough that if you forgot something in the car, you wouldn’t mind making another trip to go fetch it.
The rooms are appointed so comfortably. They’re set up as all other Springhill Suites, bed (s) with a separate sitting area. There’s a fridge and microwave for those who like to stock up on snacks on beverages from their local Target. We did!
Location is superb. Just a few steps away from all the restaurants. I felt far enough and close enough at the same time if that makes sense. Also, there was convenient access to Burbank Ave and the freeway if I needed. Getting to and from my job site was stress free and actually fun.
This was one of the best stays I’ve ever had. Although it was for business, it felt more like leisure. It’s a comfortable and well kept place to stay. I travel a lot and I’m specific about my hotel stays. Kudos to you Marriott for launching an outstanding property! I will be back for sure. I plan to make this my hotel of choice when I work in LA. Thank You!
