Wow. Unreal! It’s my first time coming to this auto shop and they were extremely fair, time-​conscious, and pleasant to deal with.
I got a state inspection and got my battery & a terminal changed as well as the corrosion around the battery cleaned. I came in at 8:45am and it was done by 10am and was a great price! Waiting was no problem, since I could walk to the nearby Starbucks which was 100 yards away and enjoy some coffee and reading.
Will be back for other car services — this has been the fastest, best priced auto shop with personable and kind workers who don’t try to up sell you or find problems that they try to make you fix. Love this place and I highly recommend it!

They are neither the cleanest nor the fanciest place in northern Virginia, but they are honest and actually talk to you about your vehicles. If they feel some repairs might have cheaper alternatives or can wait, they will tell you. If they are not equipped to diagnose a problem, they will tell you. You can drop off your car without an appointment and they usually get to work on it by the next morning.
My most recent visit was for a rough running engine. An ignition coil had failed on my 6 cylinder engine. They had fixed this same problem once before (different coil), so I asked about replacing the remaining 5. This would have been hundreds of dollars in labor for them, but the mechanic said it wouldn’t save me money so just fix the others if and when they fail.
A few years ago I brought in a different car that had slid in snow and smacked a tire on a curb. The suspension was busted and the subframe was really bent. They said might be able to bring the subframe back into specs. When I picked up the car, all the mechanics happily told me they had never worked so hard to align a car.

After trying to ignore a disturbing «crunchukutta» noise every time I backed down my driveway or hit a speed bump, I decided to go to this place (aka «Buddy’s») because my husband had had a very good experience with them. I was fully expecting to need struts or a tie rod or something for my 100K Solara, so I was blown away when it turned out that some plastic shield under my car had come loose and they had fixed it back up where it should be. FOR FREE. When’s the last time YOU left a car repair place without feeling fleeced?
They have totally sold me for future car work, including oil changes. The Toyota dealer has seen the last of me!

After reading other reviews about Burke Auto Service, I decided to take my car there to have my AC checked. While I was there I mentioned that I would occasionally hear a «strange» sound when I turned to the left. I assured them that it would probably be impossible to duplicate the noise, but they said they would check to see what might be making the noise. A couple hours later, they called and said that the car was ready. When I arrived there, they said that they checked the AC thoroughly and that it was running fine. They also said that they found the source of the strange noise and they fixed the problem. Needless to say, I was thrilled to hear the good news. However, I was absolutely stunned when they told me there was no charge for what they did.
It’s actually hard to believe that a place like this exists in this area. If you’ve lived around here for any length of time, you’ve probably been ripped off by one of the many unscrupulous car dealers or service centers by having unnecessary repairs done, or by the upselling of products you don’t need. At least I have found a place I can trust, and I will definitely take my car back to Burke Auto Service when necessary.

I have no reservations taking my truck/​jeep to them, and refer my friends to them as well.

I was referred to Burke Auto Service Experts (AKA Buddy’s) by multiple locals. I have been to a couple other shops in the area (two Ford dealerships and NTB) where I often felt like someone was trying to sell me a flux capacitor or they have disregarded my observations and poo poo’d my questions simply because I’m a woman and must not know any better. Total opposite at Buddy’s.
I lucked out and got Walter as a mechanic. He identified the problem, recommended a resolution, explained everything clearly and answered my (multiple) questions professionally and politely. He also coached me through resolving a problem that was created by a previous shop days before. I feel that he went above and beyond.
The prices at Buddy’s are reasonable. I researched all of the parts and tires online and the markup plus labor was very much in line with my expectations and quite a bit less than the dealerships nearby. Without driving an hour outside of the Burke/​Springfield area, you’re probably not going to find lower prices with the same quality service.
All of the staff I have interacted with over the last week have been polite and helpful. The gals up front, Buddy, the other guys in the shop – every one of them seems to have a «can do» and «we can make it work» attitude.
The only thing that I was a bit disappointed with was the quality of the loaner vehicle. The van I was given had some functional issues. Nothing dangerous, just inconvenient. That said, most places don’t have loaners at all and since I have no family/​friends nearby to cart me around, a loaner was much appreciated. And it made me appreciate my car even more!
I will definitely continue to use Buddy’s while I’m in NoVA. I wish I had found this shop sooner!

I brought my SUV here for a «check up» before a long road trip. From the moment I walked in to the moment I picked up my vehicle the service was excellent. They did the work that was needed and didn’t try to come up with additional things that they could tack on to make the costs soar. I feel confident in them and will return for future needs.

These guys do great work and have excellent communication. What I like best is that they give you your various options on work to be done instead of trying to push you into getting extra work and money from you. I’ve really appreciated how they have been upfront and honest with me over the years… including telling me to junk a car and buy a new one when it was time.

Wow! If you’re unkeen with mechanical terms then have no fear going here alone because Burkes is honest. I went to a Nissan dealership in Alexandria and Woodbridge and was disappointed with their overall service. However I was impressed with Burke Auto overall service.
Burke quoted me $ 43.00 for a rim repair whereas Woodbridge quoted me $ 500 or $ 53.00. Woodbridge was leading me to buy a new replacement rim. On the other hand Buddy gave me a sense of assurance that the repair was no problem and they’d have it done soon.
Buddy at Burke is knowledgeable and kindhearted.

I brought my car here when I needed a timing belt. I was quoted a considerably lower price than other garages. My car was completed promptly and the price was a little lower than quoted. Based on the great desk service, convenience, quality, and price I have made this my regular auto service provider.

Both my cars had a tire with a slow leak. Buddy and his team fixed the problem while I waited back to back days.

My car has reached the point where regular maintenance is no longer covered by warrantee and going to the dealer has ranged anywhere from $ 250-​$ 700. This time I decided to try Burke Auto Service and was not disappointed. Not only was the cost of my service a fraction of what it normally is, but the mechanic called me at home to discuss something minor that I probably wouldn’t have known (or noticed) otherwise. Very thorough! This has just become my ‘go to’ garage.

We’ve used them for minor things… oil changes and other routine service. They seem honest with me and never recommend needless repairs. Once we brought our car in because the battery died and they just trickle charged it rather than making us buy a new battery. I dock one star because my wife brought the car in for an oil change and tire rotation… and they charged her an extra $ 25 for synthetic oil… she wouldn’t know to ask for synthetic oil and it’s unnecessary for our car.

I almost paid $ 900 last week for certain repairs and replacements that my dealership told me was needed for my car when only about three months prior I paid the same amount for my 30,000 mile service. So I took my car to Burke Auto Service Experts for an independent diagnostics to see if, indeed, there are problems with my car. Guess what? Nothing. Everything is still good! My mechanic was Kevin and he took the time to show me all the parts that my dealership said were problematic but were actually just fine. I’m knowledge deficient when it comes to auto stuffs but I learned so much today from Kevin’s explanation. Bea (front desk) is also such an accommodating person. Another great thing — I paid $ 0 for today’s service, to think that they took the time to diagnose my car and even adjusted the tire pressure. This is going to be the auto shop that I will entrust the life of my car with.

Great experience! We are new to the area, and tried Burke Auto Service Experts after receiving what we thought was a very high estimate for a tuneup from another local mechanic. Sure enough, Burke Auto Service Experts was nearly HALF the price of the first mechanic. Plus, they were very friendly and helpful, completed the work quickly, and the car is running great!

After a dealer (went for a recall) tried to saddle me with $ 1,500 of unnecessary «fixes» and left my car smelling like a chain smoker I felt I should emphasize again how great this shop is and how wonderful the people are: They are incredible. I don’t know what I’d do if I ever moved so far that I couldn’t reasonably bring my business to them.

I moved to Burke recently and one of the first things I look for when I move to a new area is a reliable mechanic. Being a girl I am always very wary of places that overcharge or suggest unnecessary services.
Burke Auto Service Experts was recommended to me by a friend and I couldn’t be happier. The employees are extremely friendly and helpful. Most recently I was driving and notices that my steering didn’t feel right. I took my car in that afternoon and they said they would take a look at it that day. I was called quickly that afternoon and was told that they test drove it multiple times and it felt fine after equalizing the tire pressure in my back tires.
Not only was I happy that the fix was so easy, but they didn’t charge me anything for the service. It’s also located close enough to my house that I can walk there to pick up my car. I will always bring my car back here now for any work I need done thanks to the great and honest service.

These guys have been my mechanics ever since I moved to the area in 2001. At the time they were close to my house, and my housemate recommended them, so I started going there. I moved to Fairfax a couple years ago, and then to Vienna, but I still only take my car here.
They have always done good work on my car (a Saab, then a Subaru, now a Nissan), and they have always treated me well, taking the time to explain the repairs and to make sure I knew what the problem was and what they were doing to fix it.
Unless I move completely out of the area these guys will be my mechanics, because it is really hard to find a good mechanic that you trust, and that’s what I’ve found.
