We’ve eaten here a few times, it’s always pretty decent. Chips and queso are great and the service wasn’t bad. I usually get the enchiladas and they’re pretty good. Does anybody remember way back when this was a Panchos?! We came here ALLTHETIME when I was a kid so I’m very partial to this restaurant just because of old memories. We’ll have to go for dinner soon, haven’t been in awhile!

OK yes I admit it… I come here(often) mostly for the margaritas. I think they are the best around. The mix is not overly sweet… it has a lot of lime and it has the perfect bite. I have never been disappointed with them! On to the food… it’s pretty good. Chips and salsa are good.(Wish there was cilantro but I know not everyone is a fan) and the queso and guacamole are decent starters. It is kind of strange to order this at a Mexican restaurant but my favorite thing is their Chicken sandwich. The load it up with cheese, Guac and bacon and serve it with a side of their(great) fries. Beware, though… the last 2 times I ordered this they left off the bacon so I had to ask for it. Really, really good, though and they quickly brought out a side of bacon to add on.(I really didn’t need it but man was it good!). I am sure I will be back again and again(and again…).

The salsa at El Fenix is the only salsa that my Grandma can stand to eat heat wise. It’s mild for her and that’s what she likes. Whenever we want to stay close to home and burned out on everything else, we usually will go to El Fenix. So if my Grandma is a fan I am too! Chips are good. I do like the salsa and queso. I usually get the carne asada or chicken tortilla soup. Pretty tasty, the fajitas are decent as well.

Better than most Tex-Mex in Burleson. Service is great. I’ve always enjoyed the food I ordered.

The service was ok, the bartender had more than she could handle. Ordered the brisket nachos we are Texans no matter what they say that was not brisket, eating roast on nachos is very nasty. The Manger said they just cook it different not buying that at all! The appetizer special had stale flautas, rare steak in the quesadilla and the fakest guacamole that just looked gross. Couldn’t bring my self to eat it. The manager said to let her know next time we were in and she’d fix it, but there will never be a next time. If I could give the over all experience no stars I would definitely do so.

Overall, a good experience. The restaurant is nice. Very authentic Mexican feel. The wait staff was nice and the food was brought out quickly. Which is nice when you are on a lunch break. My only criticism would be the portions for their lunch fajita plate. I thought it was a little skimpy, but the food was quite good.

I heard this morning on GMT that El Fenix was celebrating their 97 Birthday with an enchilada special. The place was surprising not packed for lunch. I was seated in a booth in the rear. My waiter Reuben was there with the most amazing thin & crispy chips. I ordered the cheese enchiladas with queso with onions. They were great, hot and still bubbling on the plate. Reuben returned about 5 times either to refill my sweet tea or just to check on me. I must say he is the best waiter I have ever experienced. He was personable and friendly and we even chatted about our love of Mole and the lack of availability in the area with so many mexican places. If I had the money I would definitely invest in this man and his vision to open his own place. I eat out alot and this is definitely at the top of my list to return to. Remember ask for Reuben!

BAD service. Was there over 10mins. No drinks. Had 2 people take out drink order. Still didn’t get drinks. Order queso he brought it but no chips. Still no drinks. People set down after we had been there awhile they got there drinks right away. That’s when we got tired of waiting. Walked out. Won’t be coming back. Disappointed

Like other locations the food was great. The 3 stars are for the service(lack there of). I was in town for a training, so I wanted a quick but tasty lunch. I sat at the bar hoping for quick service with attention. No refills… no return from the server upon the delivery of meal. I had to ask for my check so that I could leave and get back in time. The receipt was placed on the counter and the server walked off. I don’t feel bad about not leaving a tip.

Outstanding service and authentic cuisine with a warm greeting upon arrival to very friendly and sincere table staff, portions an excellent value for the price point with an abundance of warm chips and mild salsa — a place where the welcoming environment is complemented by traditional selections.

Nice environment, seemed clean and the servers were nice. The salsa was better then the pace picante sauce you get at Rosa’s, but could be a little spicier. The food was not amazing, but it was not horrible either. Our food came out hot, but tasted microwaved hot to be honest. Also, I had the tacos with the Avocado slices on it and they were browning. I asked the server if they use fresh avocados and she said yes. I highly doubt they are using fresh food. I wouldn’t say that we will never come back here, we just won’t unless it’s the last remaining restaurant in Burleson.

Don’t come at 10:30am. Unilocal is wrong and it doesn’t open till 11. Other than that it’s great

It looks like a ghetto El Chico’s on the inside and the staff seem like the most depressed and suicidal food service workers I’ve ever seen. The host was a teenage kid that was kinda if an ass. The food was the usual tex mex and the only reason they get one star. The service was slow in the beginning and slowed down again after our plates arrived. I will not be visited this place again and recommend you dont either.

I’ve always enjoyed El Fenix, but do yourself a favor and drive to one in Fort Worth or Dallas. Every time I try and give this one another chance I get ticked off because service is horrible. Food is good when the servers don’t screw up the order. I went back the other night and was thinking wow, the service is great and pretty decent. Well for whatever reason the new server we had«had to leave» but I’m thinking she was sent home because I saw the manager talking to her. Well, our replacement server ruined our good experience, she was uncaring, bland attitude, and pretty much non existent. we had to summon help of other servers… If your in Burleson and want Mexican food. Go try Antonios off of Wilshire.

Service was prompt but food was wrong. Ordered pork tacos on corn tortillas but they came out on flour. Menu indicated it would be served with salsa Verde. When I asked the server where it was he said«we don’t have that». Had to show him on the menu then he brought it. Food was unusually bland. Was in a time crunch so couldn’t send food back. I am a long-time El Fenix fan but this location won’t be a repeat for me.

A well deserved two star! No wonder my companion said we could get in at lunch… with no wait! Uhhh that was the upside.

I have eaten here 3 times, because my in-laws like this place. I am not a fan, personally. The chips and salsa are okay, and the food is so-so. I prefer Fresco’s. The guacamole tostadas aren’t as good as On The Border’s. The last time I went the food took a long time to get to our table, but our server was very friendly. If you want Mexican food, you could do worse, but you could do so much better.

First time here and last time at any location. The service was OK but nothing outstanding. The food is under seasoned. I should know better than to go to a «chain» Mexican restaurant when in TX. Any mom & pop should kick their butt. Very disappointed. Go eat somewhere else. I should have looked it up before coming here. Overpriced for what you get too.
