10 minutes to get waited on, empty plates and cups left on the table(we are at a tiny booth) failing to ever refill the drinks… and it’s not busy at all. The waitress seemed rushed, which made us feel rushed… We typically order 2 margaritas a piece, but because of the rushed feeling, had only 1 total. Fail. Fail. Fail.

Use to be a great place but now food is horribe. Manager told me its normal for fajitas to be bloody. Not to mention service sucks. Never have i had a manager so rude and not make it up when the food isn’t prepared right. I’ve never heard of bloody fajitas either. I wont be back.

Just another Tex-Mex restaurant. Tastes like all the others in the chain.

Love the bartenders! We frequent this place during happy hour at least 1 – 2 times a week. Great drinks, great prices, great people. Love it!

Wouldn’t even have given one star, if given the chance. Service was the worst I’ve ever experienced. Took my husband and son for Father’s Day. It took ten minutes to get asked for our drink order, then we waited twenty minutes for our drinks. Then he had the nerve to asked if we needed time to look at the menu! Seriously??? Our waiter was Tyler, he was 1. Hungover 2. Definitely in a fight the night before 3. Quite possibly High Another waiter had to refill our chips and hot sauce. After an 30 minutes he showed up to fill our drinks, then forgot my grandson’s lemonade for another 10 minutes before my daughter went to get it from another waitress. When the food finally came it was subpar at best. We waited another fifteen minutes after we finished our food, I went to ask him for our check. He said he’d bring it right over, yes five minutes later. I hand him my husband’s credit card before he even gives me the check. Another 10 minutes and he returns asking«would y’all like your check now?» We all looked at him and he says«oh shit, your card». At this point my daughter walk out for some air and my husband waited another 5 minutes or more for him to find his card. Never going back!

The customer service was absolutely phenomenal. My server Ashley is tops– kind, attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. The chips and salsa here are consistently excellent. My salad tasted fresh. I am happy to recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a fun place and atmosphere to eat, and a good meal.

Skip this place and head to the Mexican Inn a couple of doors down instead. Prior to this visit, the On The Border chain was my husband’s fav. But on this day, we found a new favorite! We arrived at OTB and waited while the hostess put together tables for a large group. And while the hostess was working to accommodate the large group, the line of people coming in the door continued to grow. But none of the servers, which were not busy at all, offered to seat anyone. Finally we were seated and given menus. Then the wait began! We waited 10 minutes and no one even acknowledged us. No drink, no chips, not even a «I’ll be right with you». Please don’t misunderstand, if the place is super busy, a longer wait is expected. But the place was half full… if that. We decided to leave and as we made it to the hostess stand, there was a large group of servers and what appeared to be a manager. I asked to speak with a manager and was shocked that he was among the crowd standing there. I told him about our experience and he offered to buy our lunch. But the damage was done. He and his servers were more interested in «hanging out» than making sure their guest was taken of. We decided to go to the Mexican Inn and it was amazing! Excellent service and the food was better than OTB! The Mexican Inn will be our first stop next time!

On the border get three stars only because so much of their food is so bad for you. I cannot wait for the new federal regulations to get put in place. I am talking about the new law that is going to require, at least the major food chains, to post the number of calories on their menus. They are going to have to put calories for every menu item, not just the«low calorie«foods. Many dishes at this restaurant have more calories with more fat grams then you should eat in three days. The Dos XX fish tacos, for example, have over 2000 cal. But if you’re smart about it, you can eat healthy here. So you order the grilled chicken fajitas. Tell them no tortillas, because the white flour in the tortillas is very bad for you and is full of starch. Also tell them no rice, and instead you want the grilled vegetables. Eat only a handful of chips, such as five or six at the most. They are large chips. Eat all of your guacamole and maybe half of the sour cream with your chicken. It’s very good on the chicken. The only healthy drink options or water or unsweet tea. do not use their artificial sweeteners on the tea. I bring my own Stevia drops with me all the time.

Service was good. Food was okay. Our waitress was nice and attentive. Window sills need a good cleaning and Our silver ware dirty. Actually the entire place could use a scrub. Otherwise not too bad. Thank you Breanna for your excellent customer service!

I love this place! Service is always great and the food is so yummy. My favorite is the chicken tacos and frozen margaritas. I’ve never had anything there that I didn’t like.

I have eaten at this location on several occasions and the food served is normally just decent Mexican food. Most Mexican food trucks have better food than OTB. While on most visits we do get very good service. The reason I gave it a 2 star was because of the mediocre food. I do have to say that their sopias are GREAT!

This restaurant has HORRIBLE service. We went here because we were in town visiting family and even had the conversation on the way there that hopefully the service would be better than times before. We arrived at 6:00 on a Wednesday evening. After waiting 10 minutes, I flagged down a server just to order some drinks. She was not our assigned server but went ahead and took our drink and food order. Three bowls of chips and 40 minutes later, we still did not have our food. I finally got up and went to the hostess and requested to speak to the manager. He came over and apologized for our wait. he said everyone came in at the same time and their kitchen was backed up. Well, I told him that when we arrived they were not that busy and clearly they had a problem of not enough employees. He had no answer for me other than they were behind. He said he would take care of it and shortly thereafter, they brought out my husband’s food. We were there with our 3 kids(ages 10, 8, and 9 months) and I and the kids had to wait a few more minutes for our food to come out. Now you would think that after someone waits over 40 minutes and speaks to the manager that the order would come out correct. NOPE! They messed up my 8 year olds order(he asked for double beans and no rice) so the server said to go ahead and start eating what he brought out and he would bring out more beans. A few minutes pass and he brings out a hot plate of the WRONGKINDOFBEANS! As we are explaining to him that this is wrong AGAIN, he places the beans right in front of our 9 month old who reaches out and sticks his hands in the HOT beans. He immediately starts screaming, I start crying and trying to wipe his hands off and the server disappears!!! The manager comes over and apologizes and says he will take care of the check and would give us gift certificates to come back. I assure him that I would NEVER visit another OTB again. I’m crying, my older kids are crying and they are not even hungry at this point because we’ve spent 40 minutes eating chips. I told the manager that I was DONE with this restaurant. The server reappears with to go boxes and leaves me to dish up everyone’s dinner into a box to get the heck out of there. I spoke to the regional manager the next day and while he was very apologetic and assured me he would be speaking with the manager of this location, his only condolence was to offer me more gift certificates. I told him that he was free to send me some but that I would gift them to someone else because I will NEVER eat there again. I never received anything in the mail. The service was HORRIBLE and my baby could have been seriously injured. TOTALLYUNACCEPTABLE!

I really enjoy this restaurant each time we visit. The salsa is very tasty; a touch of sweet and quite spicy. I like the unique chips they give, which are hard shell tacos broken in half. Their queso dip is pretty good as well. I always get the veggie fajitas and have not been disappointed yet. The tortillas are also homemade in house and very tasty. Good size portions. The prices are a little above your average Mexican place.

On the Border is an okay place to go. My husband and I went there because our first two choices were closed(it was a Monday). We had the guacamole, and it was okay. I prefer the guacamole at Fresco’s in Burleson. The service was fine, but the food was okay. This place would not be the first place I would choose to go, but if I was with some friends that wanted to go, I would join in.

Seriously unacceptable. Went for a family birthday(x2) dinner, and it wasn’t busy. A beer and margarita took forever to come out and we were a water short. When the food came one order was wrong and one order was missing. When these were brought out(together) the missing order, queso chicken, it wasn’t fully cooked. We had to get up and get a manager because our waiter was no where to be found. the manager offered to replace the chicken and give us a free desert. by the time it came back out, everyone was finished eating asking for a to go boxes AND the chicken again want fully cooked! By this point we were really upset and again no one was there. Our drinks were not refilled without asking… We used to go to this location at least once a week or more, but for the past couple of months every time we give them another chance we are reminded of why we stopped going to this location.

Wow everything about this place was just bad the service was horrible the food was horrible the meat was overshadowed by salt once again and for being medium well there is no flavor and the vegetables could’ve been cooked a bit longer

I use to love this place as a kid. This place was always my favorite, but now that my palette has grown I have realized On the Border is not very good.. I see now that it is just overpriced junk and just another chain restaurant overpricing their food to make another dollar. If you are wanting to eat here… don’t. The food has lost its quality, thank you Ben E. Keith. Texas Forever
