History

Established in 1983.

Started in a very small store on Primrose Road in Burlingame. Stayed there 25 years with only vintage jewelry. Over the years, I added new designers. Have re-​located to Broadway Burlingame 7 years ago into a store 6 times bigger than my first one. I now carry vintage clothing, great costumes and one of a kind gowns. European as well as Mexican religious folk art. Day of the Dead collection all year. Native american art and jewelry. Antique as well as contemporary home décor, art and paintings. I love my store more than ever and the new size has given me the ability to grow and be even more creative making it even more fun for customers to enjoy.

Have collected and torn apart jewelry since I was a child my parents tell me. I have a passion for vintage not just for their beauty and the way they were made but I always think of who might have worn them. They must all have great stories to tell. I love to design and make one of a kind pieces for customers lots of times using their own pieces and adding to them. Love to develop everyone’s own style and beauty by helping them with what to wear. I used to wholesale real jewelry before going into fabulous fakes, which has helped tremendously in picking out well made and real looking new or old pieces. I have a passion for native american, victorian and tribal jewelry as well as rhinestones and find a way of mixing them all together into a one of a kind look which does not go unnoticed. The key to beauty is to be comfortable wearing whatever it is you are wearing, I always give customers many options, and i am very respectable of their comfort level. OCTOBER is my favorite décor.

I’m not a big jewelry person, but I love glitter so I had to walk in and see if there was any glitter. What I found was better than glitter. Isabelle, being one of the most adorable, coolest, and nicest persons on the planet, is WAY better than glitter. The selection in her store made my brain SPARKLE SPARKLE SPARKLE.
I’ve purchased a Kenneth Lane snake necklace, gorgeous pearl necklaces, skulls to hang on my ears and neck, other very cool items, and Isabelle even custom fit a few necklaces for Giselle (my chihuahua). I’ve received many compliments while wearing what I bought from Isabelle’s All That Giltters. Isabelle has utterly fabulous taste and it is always a pleasure to visit her store.

This review is long overdue. Isabelle is AMAZING and an absolute kick! I happened to find her store while Unilocal-​ing for jewelry for my upcoming wedding this past January. It was the Sunday before Halloween when I called to confirm the store was open. Isabelle said she was planning on leaving within the next few hours so she could close early in preparation for Halloween but agreed to wait for me to come by.
From the moment I walked in, I was made to feel so at home. I told Isabelle I was a bride looking for some jewelry and that’s all she needed to get going on a dozen ideas after I showed her a picture of my wedding dress. She had all sorts of ideas to try to make sure my dress matched the jewelry and even offered to add beads to match my dress. She wasn’t overbearing though, and left me to try on all the lovely tiaras and jewelry on my own. I’m not even a glam girl that really even wears jewelry, but Isabelle’s got such a wonderful and varied collection of fancy, simple or total glam jewely, I felt like I was transformed from an ugly duckling into a swan in her store. Who knew there was a hidden princess inside me?!!
After over an hour of trying on different jewelry and tiaras, I finally narrowed on a few faves. Isabelle was so wonderful, she let me borrow the jewelry so that I could try it on with my wedding dress to see what worked. I finally settled upon one tiara and Isabelle never pressured me at all. She wanted to make sure I found the right jewelry for me and knew how special my big day would be.
I couldn’t believe how lucky I was to stumble upon such a gem. It’s small businesses like Isabelle’s that really remind you of the meaning of customer service and character.
THANK YOU ISABELLE for helping to make my wedding experience such a special one! I will never forget your spirit, generosity, and warmth.

Isabelle puts on fantastic window displays that change with the seasons. Day of the Dead and Easter are particular favorites. Inside, her tiny shop is filled with vintage and modern pieces, displayed on one-​of-​a-​kind mannequins. If you are looking for tiaras, her selection is dazzling. A gem of a shop. A must-​see for vintage collectors.

I have shopped at Ysabel’s fabulous store for over 20 years. I have a collection of vintage and modern costume jewelry, turquoise bracelets and amazing necklaces amassed over the years. I also snagged a beautiful black mini-​shift with pearls and crystals all over. It fit like a dream! She has one-​of-​a-​kind finds at reasonable prices and you won’t see them on others. Plus, she has layaway and you can easily spend an entire afternoon just trying goodies on. Her new store is five times the size of the old and she even has her collection of art, crucifixes and schatchkes. You have to go!

How in the hell could it be that I didn’t review Isabelle’s amazing store. This store only had gotten BETTER since she was forced out of her lease after 25+ years off of Burlingame Ave. I’ve been a devoted patroness since 2003.
Isabelle is eclectic and have everything from vintage to modern in jewelry, shoes, bags and most recently clothes. She has an enormous bakelite, skeleton, Halloween, bridal, and religious section. The entire backroom is a traveling art show you don’t want to miss.
I most recently was in dire straits for a special outfit. Ladies, if you’ve checked, no store has anything in stock because of the eocnomy — dresses just aren’t out there. I went into All That Glitters for some Isabelle advice, and OMG! she hooked me up with the most gorgeous head to toe handbeaded vintage dress ala Joan Collins Bitchy 1980s. Needless to say, I rocked the house with Isabelle’s fantastic purchases, collections and advice.

All that Glitters is a great find. Good selection of both new and vintage jewelry. It looks like the owner is beginning to expand and carry some vintage clothing and accessories as well. Check this place out especially if you are looking for a tiara (she has a huge selection) or Day of the Dead stuff (there’s a whole back room).
The customer service is great too. The owner, Isabelle replaced a necklace I had purchased there but broke. I have also taken her vintage of jewelry of my own that needed repair and she did a fantastic job matching the old beads and fixing the piece.
A couples of times when I went there to pick stuff up it wasn’t ready and I had to wait at least another week, which is the reason I had to give the review 4 stars. The shop is a bit out of my way and both times I had to make an extra trip.

Isabelle really is as unique and glittery as her store is. Even at first glance, her stylish windows with her funky mannequins are a glimpse into her personality. Walking into her store is like walking into every girl’s little girl dress-​up dream. From unique antique pins to modern pieces of sparkly perfection, All that Glitters really does have everything imaginable.
I originally found Isabelle’s store back in 2000 when I was engaged and looking for a tiara. I love how she «adores her brides»! She made me feel so special and it’s obvious that she loves helping her customers find the perfect piece of jewelry. She even let me «borrow» two of the tiaras I was trying to decide between and take them to my dress fitting to see what worked best. Who else lets you do that?!!
Since she moved to her new location, she has added a fabulous room with a Day of the Dead theme. It’s a bigger place than her original one and you know what that means… MORE wonderful jewelry!

I see that everyone on here who has left a review for «All that Glitters» seems to really like the owner Isabelle, and when I first met her she was very nice, out going and interesting to talk to.
But very recently my daughter who has met her a few times and her friends were taking pictures of themselves in front of her window and Isabelle started Screaming at them «Put that Camera down!!» Don’t take my picture”!!! And even threatening them saying «I’m going to go crazy on you!» Well my daughter and her friends tried to calmly explain that they were not taking her picture at all and they even paid her a compliment on how pretty she was but Isabelle continued to scream at them franticly!
Now I’m not sure why this normally calm nice lady would do this especially after she already met me and my daughter before and always waves at us when we walk by and conversers with us when we come into her store.
Maybe she was having a bad day I really don’t know why her domineer would change so much but needless to say we will not be going back again! I must make it clear as well that my 13 year old daughter and her friends are really GOOD kids even Isabelle at one point had said that to me.

cute place. lots of fun jewelry, but wasn’t exactly what i was looking for. (wanted more dainty, antique jewelry — had better luck at laurel st antiques.) but the lady there was great — she has lots of sparkly, loud, fun jewelry. and she’s really into skulls and dia de los muertos stuff. good selection for «offbeat bride» style. (ps — she’s moved from the store on primrose and is now on broadway!)

Isabelle is a sweetheart, and her inventory is fabulous. If you’re into jewelry, antiques, or just fun and funky stuff, definitely stop by and check it out. Her prices range from cheap, to expensive, depending on the piece, but no matter what you buy, its totally worth it. She has a huge selection of jewelry, hats, vintage clothing, and beautiful art work. She carries the art work of Peter Bogdis, which tends to fly off the shelf even before he makes a new piece to display. Awesome sacred heart themed art, and day of the dead themed art. If you love vintage, and you love art and something just a little bit different, you should totally check it out.

I love Isabella!!! My favourite store in the whole world!!! When I grow up… I want to own my own exotic jewellery boutique just like her :-) :-). Isabella has some of the coolest collection of extravagant jewellery ever. Very affordable too :-).
She has bejeweled bellydancing bras, Nefertiti necklaces (bought one at $ 150), Roman princesses tiaras ($ 80), etc etc… Her shop is like Ali Baba’s cave :-) :-) :-)
ps — I dont talk about her shop too much though… coz Im selfish and want to keep all her jewelleries to myself…

Great little gem tucked away on Primrose Avenue, right off of bustling Burlingame Avenue.
I’ve always been attracted to this store because of the wonderful, elaborate front window displays (hint: the owner obviously loves Halloween).
Something about the vibe of the store reminds me of New Orleans for some reason — maybe it’s the owner’s crazy energetic demeanor (her name escapes me at the moment, but she’s very cool and she knows her stuff). Or maybe it’s the eclectic inventory that just provokes creative energy to ooze out — I always walk out of here with more and more justification to get a tiara and some pretty, shiny, dangling earrings that I will most likely never wear considering my low-​key nature. But, a girl can dream…
I visited the store recently, accompanying a friend who had some seriously affordable jewelry repair done here. Once you step in to the small space, you’ll be in awe (remember, this is from my perspective — I’m a woman and I like glittery, shiny stuff). And it literally surrounds you.
Incredible array of vintage, contemporary, ethnic jewelry. There’s some high-​end stuff right beside some simple $ 14 silver hoop earrings. Then, you’ve got the tiaras — I mean, T-​I-​A-​R-​A-​S tiaras!!! I have absolutely no reason to buy one, but I found myself going through each one with the most critical eye as if I just HAD to have one before midnight struck (yes, it’s the inner goddess talking).
Great, affordable gift items here. And some high ticket items, too. I’m not one to drop too many dollars on jewelry, but I’m all for doing whatever it takes to get a little piece of happiness — and sometimes a little bit of «glitter» can do wonders.
