Jml Auto Repair

When we were going through a rough patch with our old car, a 2001 Toyota Celica, we had a mechanic on Mission who we used to go to. When we got word that we were possibly being overcharged, we were sent here to Johnny and his shop, JML Auto Repair.
At first a little hesitant because of our last experience, Johnny quickly gained our confidence because he was able to take us in quickly on sometimes really short notice, and was able to give us our car back the same day for most issues.
Johnny and his fellow mechanics are usually pretty knowledgeable about the car, considering that they’re not exclusively Toyota or Honda mechanics. They’re always cheerful and quick to point out issues as soon as they come up.
As of right now, our only problem is that we live on the other side of the Bay and it’s a little tougher to get to Johnny. If we were to come back to The City, I think we’d see Johnny a little more often.

Great auto repair shop. I brought my car in with a list of things that needed repair and I asked Johnny, the owner, to check to see whether I needed a tune up or not. It turned out that I didn’t — what a nice change to deal with an honest shop rather than others that would have recommended it.

Totally like the mechanics. Very nice and helpful! Also super quick, I would definitely go back there for any other car trouble.
By the way, the pictures on here are that of the place they use to be located, now they located to the 76 next door in the garage.

Fantastic service. I drop in with a flat, he plugs it immediately, and I’m out again in ten minutes. Then it was just $ 15!

I have been going to Johnny for the past 5 years. He is one of the most honest mechanics I have ever dealt with. When I bring the truck in and tell him whats happening he gets it fixed right away and does not overcharged and has great prices. I have bought two cars off of Johnny and they are running great until this day. I brought some parts in for the front grill for my truck and asked if he could try and fix it for me. He is not a body shop, but agreed to look it over. When I came back from work the truck looked great. I recommend everyone to use his services. Many friends have went there and he have been satisfie. My daughter was staying in Burlingame training with a local airline and was away from family for over 4 weeks. She was driving an older Ford Taurus to get back and forth for her work. She called to tell me the car was making a squeeling noise, smelled like rubber and the powersteering wasn’t working, the day before a big exam she couldn’t afford to miss.
I did my long distance research online for a local auto repair shop with good reviews and called 3 local repair shops. After talking with Johnny at JML I recommened that my daughter have the car towed there. Johnny was able to change out the serpintine belt and tensioner and had the car ready for her to pick up the same day and his rates were very reasonable. Thanks Johnny!

I never write reviews about the quality of a business but JML’s customer service and promptness was exclusively top notch. Johnny and his team provide quality service with a level of honesty that is rare in most businesses even-​more auto shops. Johnny took me in as a walk in, serviced my rear brakes with a detailed quality assurance and warranty on the work plus they checked the car for any additional problems, topped of all of my fluids at no extra charge. Great guys, friendly, honest and fast service with incredibly low prices. I definitely recommend this shop for all of your automotive needs!

My wife took our Toyota Corolla 2006 to this shop today. It was almost 5 PM where the shop was about closing. He kindly took care of the car and replaced the brake pads and the rotor. He obtained the genuine Toyota products from Toyota shop (needless to say, Toyota was about closing, he sent his employee to pick up the parts from Toyota dealer before they close). I am writing this because I believe this guy is different, he is responsible and is fair. He charged us far less than competitors and used the original parts.

I noticed my daughter’s 2000 323i was leaking from the radiator. Checked Unilocal and saw consistent good reviews for Jml Auto Repair so I drove in to get an estimate.
Just as other reviewers mention the owner «Johnny» was friendly and knowledgeable. He quickly diagnosed problem, researched parts and labor cost and provided me with a detailed and competitive estimate.
I decided to have Jml do the repair. The turnaround time was less than 24 hours and I am very satisfied.
I have since taken other cars to Jml and have found «Johnny» to be a consistently great resource.

This is the best auto repair shops i’ve ever been to. I waited until my 2^nd service with JML to post a review to verify the excellent service that I received the first time. The first car was a 2002 honda accord with a gas smell in the interior. There were a number of issues that it could have been and the owner was willing to spend the time to find the problem FREE of charge and then call me with an estimate. He promptly called me and I verified the service and parts cost with a few other shops and he was still the lowest. He performed the service and had it all finished the same day. 6 months later, still no problems!
2^nd service was a 2002 camry that need new struts and a repair of the splash guard that goes underneath the car. He was able to fix the splash guard without ordering an entire new piece saving us hundreds and his price on the struts was below other shops. More than just the cost though is his service. He does his inspection and promptly calls with a price to confirm that it is okay to proceed. So his service is definitely top notch and they get it all done very quickly.
In addition to the great service, his prices are very reasonable!

Had the timing belt, tensioners and waterpump replaced in my PT Cruiser. All for about $ 600. Great deal, fast work, and great location on El Camino Real. Showed me the parts afterward. Also replaced another belt while they were in there but can’t remember what it was called. Highly recommended.

Johnny and his guys are an excellent group of hardworking, honest, skilled and trusted mechanics. I do almost all my own work on my cars but when I dont have time or something is out of my range of capabilities I bring it to Johnny. I’ve brought everything from muscle cars to BMWs to 4×4’s for him to tackle. He always gives me a reasonable estimate up front and never charges more. I like to help him out by paying cash so he can avoid merchant fees on credit cards. Nothing but good things to say about JML in Burlingame!

If you are looking for a good bay area mechanic – especially in the peninsula – GO HERE! Johnny is honest, will give you a reasonable price and – best of all – he won’t try to up sell you services you don’t need.
I am so glad I found this place. My break pads were worn down to the point they were making that awful hiss sound. On top of that, I had a front headlight out. I had no idea where to find a reputable mechanic, until I found the Unilocal reviews on this place. I was happy to discover they were 100% true. I was sure I was in for some expensive repairs. That was not the case. I had my car back and fixed up the same day I brought it in and the work cost ½ as much as I expected it to. This was the most low stress mechanic experience I have ever had.
I never get inspired to Unilocal.Actually, this is my first Unilocal ever. I just had to put in a good word about this place. Finding a good, honest and inexpensive mechanic is very hard and it made my day to find this place.

I had a burnt rubber smell from my car for a couple of weeks and didn’t know what was wrong with it. I searched around on Unilocal and came upon JML, which is just down the street from my house, so I brought the car in.
When I arrived I was greeted by one of the most jovial and good natured mechanics I have the the pleasure to meet in my life in Johnny. I was afraid that my clutch was the problem but it turned out it was only an oil leak from the oil filter. I was relief to find out that was all it was.
And while all this was transpiring Johnny and I were chatting it up like a couple of related magpies in a tree. Johnny is very easy to like and I like to think of him like a long lost uncle. So thanks for all your help Tito Johnny.
