I found this goodwill full of a lot of very worn, low quality overpriced clothing. $ 5 -$ 10 for a t– shirt that has been extensively worn is a lot. Long lines, very limited parking and nice staff– but badly understaffed for the size/​location. I came on a Saturday and they had 1 person on checkout and a line of 30+ people waiting to pay.

Sometimes you can find very good bargains. Other times they are overpriced for a second hand, donated shop. Found 2 cute bar stools in the back of the store one day. They were a brand from target and I was actually able to find them online. When I asked how much the pair was I was told $ 35 a piece! Online for brand new ones were $ 40 a piece! One of the stools even had a small stain. I just thought it was ridiculous that for a total of $ 10 more I could get brand new, never been sat on, never been stained, bar stools. I like them for small knick knacks, but be careful what u buy bc they can be a bit over priced.

By far the best Goodwill I’ve been to in a long time!

The Asian women that work at this store were the rudest I’ve encountered EVER! Horrible service!

Thanks for stumbling upon my review. Today i will be talking about Goodwill in burlingame. Here are my pros and cons for this location:
Pros:
1. There are a lot of clothing! I’d say 60% of the store is filled with clothing related items for sale.
2. The store will give you back store credit if you purchased an electronic that did not work if it is returned within 3 days till the day you bought it.
3. Once in a while there is a tag sale on clothings.
4. This place does have a good amount of dvds, cds, vhs and records (about 4 shelves).
5. The people working there are usually friendly, i haven’t met anyone who was not.
6. There is a lot of restaurants in walking distance to choose from nearby.
Cons:
1. You do have to pay for parking. It is located in a busy area so expect to bring a lot of loose change for the meters if you are planning to stay there for a while.
2. There is only one cashier working most of the time so expect to wait in line.
3. Most of the electronics are priced at $ 7.49 unless it is a stereo system or a dvd player; they go for more.
4. The shelves are not messy but they are also not organized. Also not a lot of items are put on the shelves; so really there is nothing to look at.

Would rate this store as good and not great. Well organized and higher quality items than some other thrift stores. Some items over-​priced. If what you want has the right color tag for 50% off, you can find some good deals.

I thought this Goodwill wouldn’t yield very much but guess who got a BB Dakota wool blend coat for $ 5.50? That’s right, this girl.
There is a decent number of racks of clothing. The prices are actually all very cheap, like $ 7-​$ 15 on average or so. I would have to come back another time to investigate whether they jack up prices on «designer» clothing. I even found a Theory green toggle coat for $ 10 in the racks.
They had 50% off orange tags this week which was why my coat was so cheap. They also didn’t charge me sales tax which was another big win.

This goodwill doesn’t smell as funky as other thrift ships. It’s airy, bright and pleasant. The clothing selection is pretty good — lots of designer brands in great condition for around $ 5 – 7. It was also well organized. They had books, pots/​pans, dinnerware, glasses, cups, games, electronics, lamps, records, DVDs, and music CDs. I didn’t pick anything up today because I’ve got a rule about getting rid of one thing in my closet for each new thing brought in and I like everything in my closet right now:-)

This goodwill is nicely organized, but a little overpriced for me. The inventory is just ok, nothing really special; there is a lot of Target items new in box, and a good assortment of clothing, but be sure to double check for any stains and holes.
When in Burlingame, I prefer to go to Pick of The Litter Thrift Store, which is right around the corner. In addition, the Pick of The Litter Thrift Store helps benefit the Peninsula Humane Society.

The parking lot is pretty small and you have to feed the meter. When I asked for a shopping cart or even a basket, the clerk told me they didn’t have any. Wow.

This is one of my favorite Goodwill stores whenever I’m in the norcal area. I have found some quality items here from home furnishings, décor, brand name clothing, and electronics at great prices! I’ve noticed that a lot of items here are actually brand new, and most come from the local Target stores in the area. It also helps that they get some really great donations. The employees here are very friendly and helpful (I’m sure it helps that they’re mostly Filipino, and I chat them up in tagalog). Make sure you check the back room for the bigger items like furniture, books, and sporting goods for more good deals. Also, take advantage of the color of the week tagged items for the 50% deals!
This store really came in handy when I was looking for stuff for our house up in Pacifica and for our new office down the street in Millbrae. I would have given this place 5 stars, but the two things I particularly do not like is that they don’t have a public restroom you can use, so you’re forced to walk across the street to the gas station if you need one… Aaaand, parking in their private lot is metered and street parking is almost impossible to find. Aside from those things, everything else is all gravy.
You really have to be a patient person with a good eye to score some great deals when thrift shopping, and I pride myself in being a really good bargain hunter… and with that said, this store is a choice place to hunt.

Good spot to stop by on the way home from work, just be mindful of when they close for the evening. There’s a little parking lot next to the store, but it gets full, so you may have to park across the street by the train tracks. There is a ton of clothes here, but also a big space full of furniture. There is also a lot of stuff in the front of the store on display. I can see myself coming back here. Not the cheapest Goodwill I’ve been to though.

This is a huge thrift store yet very small selection that I like. There’s not much unique clothing because a lot of it seems to be overstock from Target or other department stores. But it is always good to shop at Goodwill because it supports the Red Cross.

As with any Goodwill location, you’re not there for Nordstrom-​level service; you’re there for a good deal. And you will get good deals! But the service is pretty darn crappy.
My favorite is the classist shit I get when I ask for any help whatsoever, and when I check out. I used to think it was racism, because I’m the only white girl when I’m there. But it’s classism. I guess if I looked needier, maybe the check out clerk would actually do her job and put my items in my bag. You know, like shes supposed to… because it’s her job. But I don’t, so she doesn’t. But she did bag items for the woman behind me, who looked like she’d been up for a few days and maybe didn’t have enough money to buy a comb for her dirty hair. Yeech. So… now you know how to dress for good service when you go popping tags. ;)
Drop offs are difficult due to the narrow street and the small space. Also, drop offs can be difficult when you are the only customer and there are two male employees standing around talking, who really, really do not want to help you. In which case, I recommend you act as I did – wait politely for assistance (or anything), then dump your bags on the ground and drive away. You won’t get a receipt but you’ll feel a little better.
What else… remember that dressing rooms are a PRIVILEGE, and you are a lowly supplicant. To get a dressing room, remember to avoid eye contact (it angers the One With Keys), don’t try to take in more than 3 items (you jerk), and try to make yourself very, very small and appeasing.
I don’t recommend you buy shoes.
Best deals – buy off-​season items, i.e. sweaters during summer, tank tops during winter and so forth. That right there is literally the Best shopping tip you will ever get in your life, and all you had to do was read a short rant to get it. You didn’t have to pay for parking, didn’t have to bring your own bag, suffer classist discrimination, or even get out of your comfy jammies. Life is good.
Note to Goodwill employees – who exactly do you think is going to the high-​end clothing stores and buying all the crap that they then donate so that you can have a job? Guesses? Anyone? Yeah, that’s right… it’s the rich-​looking beyotches that also shop there, and would not mind being treated decently in exchange for the fricking favor. The trick to looking good on a budget is buying a few things that are expensive (wardrobe staples), then buying the rest of your nice things secondhand. That’s how we roll. But if you keep treating us poorly, eventually we’re just going to do our business in nicer consignment shops, where we pay more but don’t end up feeling like dirty whores for shopping with you.
Yes, I’m writing to an invisible and uncaring audience of Goodwill managers and employees. That is how much I care about you, unsuspecting consumer. Now go buy something really fancy at Sax Fifth Avenue so I can buy it three months from now for $ 7. Thank you.

This was my first experience dropping off at this Burlingame location. It was on Sunday April 28, 2013 and the traffic was consistently busy. There was a very nice man taking very good care of everyone. And, this was no small task. He was the only person working. He was nice, friendly, helpful, and a pleasure to speak to. I hope Goodwill let’s him know he was doing a good job by the standards of this customer.
I really like the concept of the drop off line. It seems like quite a bit of thought went into maximizing the space, location, and street. During my drop off, traffic wasn’t too bad, otherwise it would have been much more of a challenge to negotiate my van on the single wide street and turn around. However, it was accomplished, so you can do it too.

This is a nice big Goodwill. The clothing here is reasonably priced. The discount sales here although are not that great but I guess at least they do have them. Some Goodwill stores never have discount sales. Anyhow, every week, there is a color tag that is 20% off and the occasional 20% off clothing. That is about it. But still, the prices at this Goodwill are great generally. I bought a brand new sun repellent shirt with its original price tag of $ 55 for about $ 4 at this Goodwill. This shirt is the kind that most major sporting good stores such as West Marine and REI sell. I was thrilled to find it in my size and at such a bargain price! Yippee!!!
Pros:

–weekly discount sales although not great –some colored tags are 20% off
Cons:
–weekly sales are just 20% off in comparison to many Goodwill stores further south in the Monterey, Santa Cruz and Gilroy area that have 50% off weekly sales

Now this is where it all began. I remember coming here with my auntie when I was in middle school and I was first introduced to thrifting. Now it’s one of my favorite things to do!
This location is great. It’s a good size store and there’s a lot of stuff. Mostly women’s clothing. Racks organized by short-​sleeve shirts, long-​sleeves, sweaters, jackets, blazers, etc. I’ve seen lots of brand-​names and clothing still with tags on them! Prices are really reasonable. A blouse is usually $ 5.49, a knitted sweater $ 7.49, a jacket around $ 8.49.
Good selection of shoes. My only gripe is that the shoe aisles are severely cramped. At most, 2 people can fit through them. I’ve seen Jessica Simpson shoes for $ 10.49. Lots of flats and open-​toe heels.
The handbags are decent. The lowest price I’ve seen is $ 4.49 and today I bought a dark brown leather bucket bag for $ 8.49, which seems pricey, but it was in really good condition. They also have a bin of scarves and each one is $ 3.49. I found a nice Pashmina one. Just be willing to dig.
The jewelry case is worth taking a look at. I found a gold costume jewelry bracelet for $ 3.49, a bangle for $ 2.19, and a gold costume jewelry necklace for $ 6.99. Really good sturdy pieces that I know I can’t find at Forever 21 for example.
The men’s clothing is pretty good here too. Lots of t-​shirts, dress shirts, blazers, slacks, jeans, and jackets. I don’t think they have much of a kids section though. Nice housewares and random trinkets to be found.
Yes, there is a parking lot and it is metered. But, on weekends it’s usually packed. I suggest coming during the week or park on the street where it’s a residential area. Anyway, besides the parking issue, customer service here is good. The employees are nice and friendly. So, check this place out to find some amazing deals!

This is your typical Goodwill thrift store. but cleaner than some of the Goodwill stores I’ve been in. Prices are reasonable. Parking is easy. It’s a metered lot but cheap, a quarter will last you a shopping trip and a little extra for the next shopper.
I’ve found a majority of their clothing to be more for the mature crowd aka «old lady» and «old man» finds. Occasionally you will find something trendy or vintage enough to make into your own trends. The store is on the smaller side so you gotta work with what they’ve got. Most all items fit the «USED» stereotype… a little wear and tear here and there… but nothing outlandish.

Not my favorite Goodwill. Why? Because first off you have to pay for parking, regardless if it is cheap, you need loose change on you. No public bathrooms, EMPLOYEES ONLY! sign stares at you. Oh they don’t open all their dressing rooms, causes for lines.
I did like that had some expensive clothes on the racks. The hard part is finding out if they fit you or not? But the name brands are the highlight of this store, so happy hunting.
