Business Owner

Dr. Jennifer Chew and Dr. Hanneke Finones received their training at UCSF School of Dentistry and graduated in 2009. Together, they opened the doors to Nest Dental — a warm and inviting, state of the art office in Burlingame. Patients enjoy the clean, light-​filled space, a private consultation room to view xrays and photos to fully understand and be a part of the treatment planning, headphones and movie goggles during procedures, email and text reminders, and much more. The Nest Dental Team is a group of skilled professionals with a gentle touch. We look forward to meeting you soon!

It exists! The perfect dental office exists! The staff are super friendly from reception to hygienist to dentist!
I loved how they explained everything that was happening when working on your teeth and made sure that you understood everything. Now I know what they were doing when they poked at my gums and stated numbers from 1 – 5 (it’s called a gum measurement).
Dr. Finnones gave me a full plan on what they were gonna do to fix my teeth and touched on all my concerns and their concerns for my teeth.
But what I loved MOST about them is they didn’t judge me when they saw all the issues with my teeth, which is what every other dentist seems to do. They stated the issues and how to fix them and why my brushing and flossing may not have been effective. It seems like other dentists just always go straight to blaming patients like «If you brushed or flossed more, your teeth would be more straight and clean and white.» Please, you think I like sitting in a chair every 6 months for you to judge me on my teeth??? And so I truly appreciate Dr. Finnones and her team.

Just started going here after seeing all the great reviews. Soooo glad I did, this place is a well oiled machine, everyone is so friendly and straight forward. It doesn’t feel like a drive through dentist at all, it’s clean, they have state of the art equipment and care about your comfort and needs. Love this place!

Both my husband and I are extremely satisfied with Nest Dental. Everyone is so kind and warm, and knowledgeable.
Scheduling was easy, they send email and text reminders.
Service was fantastic. Dr. Finones was so incredibly nice and accommodating. The hygienist, Mariah, was wonderful too. Efficient service, and they take the time to explain the procedure to you.
Dr. Finones also emailed me a day after my procedure to check that everything was ok.
Couldn’t have asked for a better dentist. Would recommend anyone looking for a dentist. Can’t say enough good things about Nest Dental.

A very well organized business. I walked in a few minutes early and I was admitted on time. From the front office to the hygienist and the actual Dr., everyone was extremely friendly and welcoming. Everything is very clean inside and lots of light shining in. Recommend this place to everyone and I live all the way in SF.

The office is very clean, equipments are up to date, 1st few visit was great (cleaning done by the dentist), after that, not so much, I will get a different dental hygienist each time, only at the end the dentist will come over for a few word, so the level of cleaning/​service vary to say the least and they are more expensive than my last dentist. This is very different from what I had experience fro the pass. I do not recommend this at all.

Dr. Finones is a kind, considerate and very knowledgable dentist. She gives me choices about treatment when it makes sense and gently guides me in the right direction when she needs to make the choice — oh by the way did I mention I’m your dental phobic? Yet I know I can come to Nest Dental and feel comfortable from the smiles when I walk in to the soft ways in which my mouth is handled during the x-​ray process. Each member of the team conveys the same message: We value our patients and their needs.

The entire staff is so friendly from the moment you walk in. They have a bunch of natural light in the front room and modern décor and furniture. Definitely the nicest Dentist I’ve ever been to. Their facility is very clean which is important.
The receptionist is talkative and friendly. The hygienist (Sasha) was awesome and very helpful answering my questions. Dr Chew is always such a pleasure to talk with and is very professional but also down to earth. I just found out my mom goes here too as we were telling a family member about good dentists in the area. If mom loves them then you know they’re good!

I just recently moved to the Bay Area and was looking for a dentist. So glad, my co-​worker recommended me Nest Dental. I haven’t been to the dentist office for the past 5 years (yes, it happens too :(, and was so afraid to be judged etc. But my visit with Dr Chew was just perfect. I liked everything about this place: scheduling was easy (yeas, I had to wait, but I was a new patient and expected that), ambience was very nice, my appointment started right on time and was very efficient, so I didn’t loose a single minute just waiting and wondering around, which is a common practice everywhere here. Highly recommend.

I am so happy I found Nest Dental. I have a serious fear of the dentist, and every single person who works at the office, from the receptionist, to the hygienist, to Dr. Chew could not be warmer or more patient with someone as terrified as I get when I’m there. Dr. Chew is genuinely concerned about her patients. During my appointment she made sure I was comfortable every step of the way, and even called me the day after my appointment to check on how I was feeling. If I had had dental experiences this positive (or as positive as a trip to the dentist can be) when I was younger, I wouldn’t have the fear I have today. Believe every positive review you read about Nest Dental.
Also, this is the least of my worries, but I have never had to wait longer than 2 minutes to be seen.

From cleanings to check-​ups to completing my entire Invisalign treatment with Nest Dental, it has all been outstanding! First off, Devvyn at the front desk is by far the nicest receptionist I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting, she makes paying bills over the phone easy and manageable, she makes scheduling follow-​up appointments convenient and simple with reminders too, and she keeps you informed on everything! Really sad I will not being seeing her and Dr. Finones more since I just completed my Invisalign treatment, and that’s saying a lot since people seem to dread going to their dentist office! Dr. Finones is the most kind dentist I’ve come across, she genuinely cares about your health and well being as her patient! She takes the time to explain and answer any questions or concerns you might have. She also send you personal follow-​up emails after any treatment is done to see how you are doing. I really love the staff here at Nest Dental and recommend everyone I know to go here for their practice!

Just had my first visit and everything about Nest Dental was perfect. The scheduling process was perfect (although they were pretty busy) and they sent me reminders at perfect moments. Dr. Finones was one of the nicest dentists I’ve ever met and she was extremely informative. Highly recommended for anyone in the area.
PS — Dr. Finones emailed me a few days after they gave me my night guard to see how I’m doing. Also she found my Unilocal review! Was such a pleasant surprise.

Woohoo! I found a great practice :) This is my first Unilocal review and they deserve it! I have a ton of dental work to be done/​addressed. Both of my parents were ill and unable to really care for me by the time I was 16 and we had lots of financial issues leading up to that. As a result I went 15 years without dental care with the exception of two extractions for teeth that got infected. I’ve seen a few dentists since finally getting dental insurance and Nest by far has provided the best experience.
The 3 things that are really standout for me include:
— I felt absolutely no shame/​guilt/​any other kind of judgment that I always felt leaving other dentist offices. It’s not that other offices were ever right out rude but the people at Nest seem especially compassionate. If you’re as self-​conscious as I was this will be a huge relief for you.
— They have excellent systems in place for getting all your info as a new patient and are very communicative.
— They clearly layout your treatment plan and costs. Also they don’t try to pressure you into treatment you don’t need. They really look out for what’s best for you individually. Again it is clear that they care.

The office is very clean, welcoming, and up to date, which makes a big difference when going to the dentist. The staff is very friendly and they make an effort to get to know you. It is a rare trip to the dentist where you don’t feel judged for not flossing enough, but still leave and want to floss more — that’s the kind of attitude everyone has.
The little details are what makes this place great — the candles in the waiting room, the vaseline on the lips before they begin, and the faux ray bans instead of goggles. Love the creativity.
Plus, the free chapsticks are a definite perk, as well as it being extremely close to my work.

Had a checkup exam and cleaning with Dr. Chew and her assistant this morning. The office is very clean and modern, and the appointment started on time. The appointment system is very convenient, with email reminders and pre-​appointment forms.
The exam itself was done efficiently and quickly. The doctor examined each one of my tooth more meticulously than any previous dentist I’ve had. She recorded every symptom on every tooth for monitoring purposes. That attention to detail is great.
Typically, the hygienists perform the cleaning. But for my appointment, the doctor performed the cleaning herself, which surprised me. It turns out to be great, because she notices small things here and there, along the way, and records them down.
All in all, a very personal experience directly with the dentist, which makes a big difference!

I absolutely love Dr Finones and her staff! It’s a weird thing to say — but I actually really enjoy going to the dentist. The office is really clean and nice. Dr Finones is so sweet and she really takes time to explain and talk though everything with you. She genuinely cares about your well being and overall health. She sends me follow up emails to make sure I’m doing well after a procedure too. These guys are wonderful and I’m so glad they were recommended to me. I can see myself being a patient here for a very, very long time.

***I’m hesitant to leave this POSITIVE review only because it may lead to my new dentist being flooded with more patients, making it harder to book future appointments :)
SCHEDULING
From the beginning my experience could not have been better with my new Dentist. Scheduling setup and reminders were great — got a text and email confirmation reminder prior to my initial appointment. Checkin upon arrival at the office was instant. I completed the new patient form prior to arrival so I didn’t need to waste any time when I arrived.
TREATMENT
Cleaning/​examinations/​treatments were a breeze and they did an amazing job. They had advanced/​updated equipment which made the experience easier and smoother as well — x-​rays were fast and post-​examination she was able to advise me on my teeth with hi-​res images. The best part is that despite the fact that they had all of these new gadgets, I didn’t feel any pressure from any service upsells, something I’ve experienced frequently with previous dentists with similar fancy setups. They also had headphones for me to listen to some calming music during my treatment.
FOLLOW UP
How many dentists send you a personal follow-​up email to make sure everything is ok? In my case, none had done so until now. This adds to how she has exceeded my expectations. Dr. Finones is awesome and i’m so glad she’s my new dentist!

Had an appointment check up here. Despite me being late, everyone was very welcoming and accommodating. The facilities were very modern and relaxing. Dr Chew explained everything she was going to do clearly beforehand.
This was the most I’ve enjoyed a dental visit!

I am posting on behalf of my wife. She really wants to like this place but was left extremely disappointed after realizing she wasn’t shielded during her panoramic x-​rays.
The dental assistant did not offer her any sort of x-​ray shielding/​protection and she –my wife– was a bit dumbfounded that such a facility would not have it available. After she told me about her experience, I did some research and realized that protection should always be given for patients. I am going to see if there is any regulatory body I can make a formal complaint to regarding the blatant lack of patient safety.
