Rb’s Threading Studio

I realize I’ve been going to Rb’s for about 8 years now and never wrote a review! Bella and Ruchi are my go-to’s here. My eyebrows are pretty sparse but they always know what to do with them. I’ve tried a couple of other people here but Bella and Ruchi have still proven to be the best fit for me.

When I first came to this place over a year ago, I enjoyed each experience because they placed a lot of care into their work. They paid attention to the small details. BUT NOW…
They have this young girl doing the threading and she rushes through it!
First, my eyebrows! She thinned them out! I said touch up and I swear it looks like a pencil mark!
Next, the pain! I never felt that much pain! Even when they had the previous lady, there was pain, but not blistering pain! My lips were burning for 30 – 40 minutes afterwards!
Then, she walked away and I guessed I was finished! Not a word, and I had to help myself to a tissue to brush off the hair. Took a look in the mirror and I can see that some of the hair was snapped off not plucked off!
Last, she didn’t finished my transaction and she started to tend to the next customer.
I gave this new girl so many tries… and I can’t stand it. Moving to somewhere new…

Great experience! Took me last minute, had me in and out in no time, and did a great job!

Poor customer service. Waited for 30 mins for them to open after they saying they start at 11 am. No clue where the owner was!

I just got home from coming here for the first time. I read all the reviews and decided why not try out a new place before I head into work. For my first time it was ok. Quick and pretty painless. Although I could’ve had more attention paid to my overall care, such as moisturizing my eyebrows and cleaning up the pulled hairs from my face. Instead I had to wipe them away when I left and had to pluck a few unthreaded hairs. Overall because it was quick, the price was OK at $ 15, and my eyebrows look decent. I’ve had more done to me for $ 12 when getting my eyebrows waxed. I think next time I’ll try another professional threader and see how they do.

Best ever! I never come out with bad looking brows and the best part is you are in and out, they don’t mess around. I love the whole gang and trust them with my brows any day!

The worst plot to go for your eyebrow threading. One of the employees called Pooja ruined my eyebrows. She was busy texting her boyfriend or whoever and not concentrating on clients. I am not going back again.

The woman who worked tonight was not very good. Did not listen to what I wanted and I noticed she didn’t listen to what the person before me wanted either. She made my eyebrows so thin and I commented on it and she told me it looked better on my face. I didn’t ask her to make them thin, I asked her to do a cleanup and keep them thick. But because she didn’t think they would look good she ignored me and did what she wanted, that’s really bad customer service!

This is a good place to get threaded if you are in the area. She was quick and efficient. Yet, there was more pain then I am use too, perhaps it was the threading she was using, or that she was going pretty fast. But wasn’t too thrilled with that.
The eyebrow shaping was ok. I had bette…, too much scissor clipping versus threading, which I was surprised at for a threading place.
Bottom line, if you are in need of some threading and are in the area, this does the job, just not to level I am use to for the same price. SF is not too far away, and lots of good places for the same price.

I recently moved here from LA and thank goodness I listened to you all on here. I called at 11am and was told I could come right in. Sabi did my brows. I love them.
Street metered parking. The shop is down the stairs. I was there for 5 minutes.
They take cash and credit!

Been coming here for years for eyebrow threading, even when I lived in SF. Even when the threading felt rushed, it was still a good job. So this review isn’t about the threading but the service.
When they say a 6:30 close time, they mean they want all customers out the door before 6:30. I walked in at 6:02 and was turned away. As I walked in, the lady working there was just starting on someone and there was another person waiting. She was rude, saying that she they close at 6:30 and she already has two customers. I asked if she could just squeeze one more in and was essentially shooed away.
Bad business practice.

RBs is my favorite place to get my eyebrows threaded. Richie, Bella and all of the ladies are wonderful at what they do! I usually walk in or call ahead and the wait is short or there’s no wait at all.

I was desperate for a eye brow clean up and I ended up with almost no eyebrows!!! I specifically asked the lady to clean me up and leave certain areas alone. Clearly she didn’t listen. It was my first and last time here. I’ll be growing out my brows for a while now since I don’t have much left :(

I have been going here for a few years now and will never go anywhere else! I live in sf and commute to Burlingame to see Bella and Rutchie — they are the best!
I do full face threading and love it. They alway fit me in and take the time make sure that I am happy with their work. Their prices beat many other threading studios in the Bay Area and they do not compromise quality.
Love this place and wouldn’t trust my face to anyone else.

I just visited today, and Zara did my full face. She wasn’t very chatty, which is perfectly fine with me because I would much rather her concentrate on my face than holding a conversation. And she had the thread in her mouth, like how much conversation can I expect?
Something was going on with their usual location, so they were moved and I was CONFUUUSED! But that is not their fault at all. They had a whole bunch of signs for guidance. My one problem with this location was that it was not very well lit. So at the end when she asked if everything looked okay, I had to look for a looong time! My main focus was to make sure she made my eyebrows look good. And she definitely did! I love my brows. I did find out later on when I got in my car that she left a little bit of hair on my upper lip and one of my brows were not trimmed. I took care of it myself when I got home, though.
I would definitely come back since Zara did a great job, but I do hope that they have better lighting next time! I think that the lighting caused her to miss some hairs, so it’s not too big of a deal.

It was my first time trying threading. I’ve been wanting to try it out and when my brother’s wedding was upcoming, my distressed eyebrows needed work! Rb is nearby and I went in during a lunch break, mid-​week so I was the only customer at the time. The whole process took like 10 minutes max. It was clean and quick, I felt a bit of pinching but nothing awful. She warned me that I would get red, which I did. She offered me a package deal but told me that since it was my first time I should think about it and come back again if I really wanted to purchase the deal. I liked that she didn’t pressure me.

Really efficient. Took less than 5 minutes. But $ 15? Really steep IMO.

bella was amazing! My friend brought me here and introduced me to threading for the first time. It took bella 5 minutes to shape my eyebrows =) I even bought a 6-​pack from her (buy 5 get 1 free!). I will be coming back here regularly now!
The entrance is a little hidden, right down the staircase. I discover these new shops everyday in burlingame. what a mysterious city.

Ouch! Ouch! Ouch!
Sometimes I wonder if men appreciate the pain women go through to look decent. We technically don’t have to groom our eyebrows at all and look like a hot mess. But since society deems it as something we have to do and I don’t want to look like a mess, I groom. Instead of the norm of waxing, I decided to get my eyebrows threaded and at a highly reviewed place. After all, eyebrows can really make you or break you.
RB’s studio is a quaint little place. 2 chairs and a little bench served as the waiting area. I got there 10 minutes earlier than my appt time and I didn’t have to wait at all. The lady that threaded my eyebrows was really nice and I was just exaggerating… it didn’t really hurt that much. A few minutes later after some pulling, threading, and trimming, my eyebrows were done.
I liked the threading process and the end results. Quick, semi-​painless and a slight tingling sensation on my face afterwards. That felt good… am I weird? $ 15 plus tip equates to a wax, maybe even slightly cheaper. My eyebrows look good and clean… i’ll be back!

I’ve been here four times to thread my eyebrows and done it with both Ruchi and Bella.
Based on personal experience, consistency is rare with threading — unless you’ve gone for many years and they know you well. For about 12 years in Jakarta, I would only go to one of two people to do my eyebrows… and I would follow them as they moved from one salon to another. I’m very particular with the shape of my eyebrows… and their symmetry.
Moving to the U.S. where threading isn’t as common initially forced me to lower my expectations just a touch… as I explored one threading place to another — from NYC to Rancho Cucamonga to Wailea Bay to Palo Alto. until I finally found «the one» in Burlingame — RB’S THREADING STUDIO.
I will return for as long as I live… within a 5 mile radius.
