went in for a polish change because it’s close to where I work. It was rushed and done poorly. There were brush marks left on the polish, they weren’t even shiny! (possibly a bad topcoat). They chipped within one day and looked terrible by the second (see photo). I had to get them redone at my normal place which normally lasts me a week!

Came here with a groupon for a mani pedi. I had 3 ladies working on me simultaneously, which was kind of uncomfortable. The lady who was doing my toes, practically nipped my pinky toe (I guess because my pinky toe nail is abnormally longer than other people’s). I didn’t even realize she cut me until she started freaking out and apologizing because my pinky toe was bleeding. Other than that, the polish on my toes looked great! My mani wasn’t as great though. It started chipping the next day.

Like most, I will definitely NOT be coming back to this establishment. I had a Groupon and wanted to give this place a try.
I should have known this was going to be a nightmare after I finished making the appointment.
First, when I called to make my initial appointment, the woman asked from the Groupon code. Soon after, I received an email stating that the Groupon was redeemed. Mind you, I booked out my appointment a month out in advance.
When I arrived to my appointment, I told them I was scheduled and they took me right away.
Now, this is when it all turned SOUTH. Once I was finished with my pedicure, the lady told me $ 30. When I explained to her that I had a Groupon and that the person who took the phone call redeemed it already, the owner FLIPPED. She started yelling at me «No, no I didn’t do that! I didn’t ask for the code! You’re lying, we never do that here.» I was so caught off guard, I wanted to get the hell out of there. I paid out of pocket and called Groupon IMMEDIATELY. Luckily, I was refunded my money.
This place lacks customer service and I have gladly told a lot of people to avoid this place at all cost.

i hate when businesses extend a groupon deal, then treat you like crap! why offer it at all? many of us like to try out new places and may even return if all ends well. this experience, however, did not start well…
i am a solid tipper. i’ve worked in the tip-​based service industry before and totally get it and take care of my kind. even though this wasn’t the best experience, i still took care of my lady.
i got there on time and was initially confused about where to pick colors. apparently, it’s chosen from a painted pallet, which is somewhat okay (i prefer looking through a wall of colors). then I was seated and started to enjoy the massage chair… then, i waited and waited for 40 mins! i thought my service was going to begin until i was asked if this was my first time and how i heard about this place. when i uttered that magic word, «groupon,» the demeanor was no longer to provide exceptional service.
this poor old lady took care of me and the end result was mediocre at best — missed cuticle trimmings, uneven, blotchy paint, and second-​class service. i was looking forward to this and have read the better reviews and gave it the benefit of the doubt, which was a mistake! never again!

I highly recommend this place. I’m not from here and they treated me great!
I was in town for business and needed something to make the time go by. I called this salon and asked what time they closed. They were open until 7 which was great because I didn’t get to my hotel until 5.
They took me in right away. I got a gel mani and a regular pedi. Both were $ 30 each but they took $ 5 off because I got both done. The pedi was great. They cleaned up everything really good and did a leg scrub, good massage and a hot stone rub. The mani was good too. They even rubbed my shoulders and neck. Which was totally unexpected.
Price was a little higher than usual but was pretty comparable to what I pay in my town so I was okay with $ 55 for both. It was especially worth it since I got the scrub and neck massage too!
The gel mani has lasted over 3 weeks without peeling off! It started to crack towards the top of the nail at about 2 weeks. But good, quality long lasting nails. The pedi has lasted just as long and I’m going to probably wait 4 – 5 weeks to get another one. The polish hasn’t chipped at all! Great place!

I did not use a Groupon. in fact I have never had a good experience using a coupon at a small businesses… most are not equipped for the added customers and should not sign up. It is not worth the small savings.
After a little window shopping on the Avenue, I walked in this morning without an appointment and was seated right away. I chose my colors and settled in for the chair massage and mani.pedi.
I love the extra attention to details at Te & Ashi. They dim the lights, soft music in the background… no drink offered today but I never drink all of it anyway so no loss for me.
With the pedicure you receive scrub, hot oil and lotion massage then hot stones… who does that and doesnt charge extra?! The added neck massage with the manicure is very relaxing and it doesnt feel too rushed.
My experience with the owner and ladies have been very pleasant each time. I will continue to come back!
This is not the cheapest place in town, but $ 40 for both and the spa experience

Awful, a sorry excuse for a «spa». I went a couple weeks ago with a friend and there wasn’t much room to sit. Vivian cut my finger which later turned out to be infected. I called the next day to let them know and she told me she would comp me a shellac manicure AND a pedicure. I don’t usually get pedicures, I do them on my own, but I figured why not since she’s offering.
My comp mani/​pedi was Friday at 5pm. I called them to let them know I would be 10 minutes late as I was stuck in traffic. She said if I can’t get there by 5:10, then I should reschedule. I was damned if I was going to miss it, so I rushed and made it on time to find one other client there they were finishing up with. I figured, since there was such a rush to get me there on time, that it would be super busy. I was the ONLY person there for an hour and a half. In fact, a walk-​in walked by to ask for a polish change and with two manicurists there, they said they had no time. Again, I assumed they had a large number of appointments coming in later.
She finished up with me around 6:30, they close at 7. Still, no one else came in. Vivian said the shellac manicure was comped (mind you, no massage, no lotion, no nothing!), but that I had to pay for the pedicure. I reminded her that she said she would comp the pedicure, too. I would have never asked for it because I don’t get pedicures. She was so rude, it’s no wonder why no one else was in that salon. They’re smart enough to go elsewhere. You should, too.

I haven’t been to this salon for about 3 years. Back when I first tried them, they had a Groupon and it was a good deal for the service and atmosphere of the nail salon. But their prices were just too high for me so I haven’t returned since.
Well, earlier last month, I saw a Groupon again for this spot. I was excited and bought one. I lost track of time and by the time I remember about the Groupon, it was going to expire the next day so I called and managed to get a next-​day appointment on a Saturday. I was surprised how easily I got an appointment.
To my disappointment, I experienced why. The nail technicians talked to one another and to the owner (?) most of the time I was there. It was definitely NOT a spa experience. There was no music, just their conversation in Vietnamese filling up the store. I was the only customer there the whole time. Normally, nail salons are pretty busy on Saturdays and this was not the case here!
Although the technician doing my manicure spoke a little bit to me, the 3 ladies were more interested in whatever they were talking about in Vietnamese. I was also not offered any type of beverage during my visit. The pedicure technician didn’t use a base-​coat. My manicure was not of equal lengths but the polish was placed well. The massages were average even though hot stones were used.
It’s evident that the ownership change (mentioned by Unilocalers) was not one that’s trying to improve this business. Although it tries to have an air of upscaleness… it is a very typical Asian nail salon. In comparison from my past experience and what I experienced recently, it was night and day. I’m sad that my visit was disappointing and admit that I don’t plan on returning. The new owner should removed the «People Love Us on Unilocal» sticker from the door.

I was very happy with how they cleaned up my nails and the massage was very soothing. But when it came down to the actual French manicure, it was awful. My manicure had bumps and we’re crooked. Will not be returning.

I used my $ 30 Groupon for a mani pedi. Called Friday (day before appointment) and got a Saturday 3:30pm slot no problem. Overall experience was average. The two women who did my toes and nails were sweet. I read about the ‘nasty boss lady’ in many other reviews and she was slightly abrasive and definitely not as pleasant as the women who actually did the work but I felt prepared for the way she is so it was fine.
The salon interior feels a little run down and tired that a fresh coat of paint could solve.
I usually go to Four Season Nails on 25^th which I love so will continue going there. Just wanted to try a different place to see if I was missing something. Today’s experience made me realize I am not.

Nice and cute little nail salon in Burlingame. Unfortunately my experience wasn’t as nice as I expected. This would be my first and last visit to this salon. Here’s why…
4 stars for my manicurist. She did a great job!
–1 star for the owner/​manager lady for «politely» asking my friend and I to stop talking to each other even quietly when we both we’re getting a mani.
–1 star for the owner/​manager lady for being rude and shooing away another customer for walking in even though the salon says «walk-​in welcome» and the salon wasn’t busy at all!
–1 star for just being rude overall while having the loudest voice in the salon.
My friend got the other manicurist and unfortunately she could not speak ANY English. She left warm massage towel in his neck until it turned cold. And she didn’t even understand the word «square» when clipping nails.

Dont even waste your time. Bought this $ 30 groupon and wanted a shellac manicure and charged extra $ 15 for it… i said, fine! ill pay extra for shellac. It was Sunday and I was the last customer, my appointment was 530pm, and they started working on my mani pedi at 6pm, waited 30mins! When I was paying the owner told me that I have to pay extra $ 5 for taking off my old shellac manicure, I said. What? I dont remember other nail spa charging me extra $ 5 for that, as long as I do another gel or shellac. The owner was really rude and was telling me that I went to an expensive place and the fact that they have an old chipped pedicure chair spa.
Since I was the last customer, they were even rushing it. I end up going home with shellac mani that is dull and not glossy.
I dont mind paying extra if they are like Bella Nails in San Mateo… cannot even compare them.
Will never gonna go back there!

Today was my 3^rd Visit to this nail shop!
1^st time was so so I came in to meet my old GF and was told to SHHHHH… which I understand since the place is trying to make a ZEN environment.
Mani/​Pedi was so so, chipped after two days.
2^nd time I was given a gift certificate for mothers day… was annoyed I had to call several times to get them to answer to make a appt. Answer your phone people…
It was time to pay and the owner had the nerve to tell me my gift certificate expired. Sweetie look at the expiration date it clearly stated ⁵⁄₂₀₁₄ and that date was Jan 2014. My grand total was $ 40 for a mani and pedi and the value of the gift certificate was $ 50, she never offered any additional services or a credit for the next visit.
3^rd time I wanted to give this place one final try!
Once again no one answered my calls to make a appt… I decided to walk in for a appt.
I was greeted with a meh hello… I asked if they had time for a mani and pedi?
Felt like no proper greeting or instruction was provided. Once again I asked so can you take me? The owner pointed to the couch and I took a seat.
The mani and pedi went on to her chit chatting with her friend the entire pedicure. MMMMmmmm so much for a relaxin spa mani/​pedi.
I left with a average pedicure the french on my feet look decent. I opted for Shellac this time… the color was light but showed fade in between the coats applied.
I would say if they worked on answering the phones, better customer service and promptness they would be a average nail shop. Otherwise skip this place and try another shop!

I bought a Groupon for a mani/​pedi and had a really great experience here! I got shellac on my fingers and toes and loved how it turned out. The ladies were friendly and courteous. I would definitely come back!

This salon is great! The owner is so sweet. My cousin and I came in for a mani pedi just before New Year’s Eve. The owner gave us delicious tea, turned off the lights, and gave us a great pedicure. Unfortunately clients with appointments came in and so we couldn’t get our manis done. The owner told us we could come back the next day and she would still honor the discount price for a mani/​pedi done together.
We came back the next day for our manis and even got a mini neck massage!
This place really knows how to give great customer service.
The only negative thing I have to say has nothing to do with the company itself but with the clients coming in while others are in the middle of their services. Be respectful and a bit more quiet when others are receiving services. The place is small and you ruin the relaxing atmosphere when you come in, are loud and start having a conversation across the spa. It’s rude. Let others enjoy their experience and if you want to chat when it’s your turn go right ahead but don’t ruin others experience.

I used a Groupon for a mani-​pedi, and had a similar experience to some of the other Unilocalers — I didn’t feel welcome at all. The owner (presumably) was downright rude in exclaiming that I did not have a reservation, when in fact, I had made one an hour prior to coming in! She proceeded to say that they were booked and had no time, but at the same time, told me to have a seat. I waited 2 – 3 minutes max before she decided I should have a seat in a pedicure chair. Okay? I guess this meant they were going to accommodate my so-​called no reservation.
Once I was in the chair and other manicurists started tending to my hands and feet, things were decent. The place was quiet overall with quaint, old world feminine décor.
They included a quick shoulder massage in the process, which was a nice touch. I saw some others getting a hot stone massage on their feet, but perhaps that wasn’t included with the Groupon service? Who knows.
I opted for a light pink nail color and a dark purple toenail color. Both chipped in a matter of two days (with very light use only). I wouldn’t return here if it was free, and definitely not for $ 30.
Not to management: Get your act together and hire a more personable greeter — the lady is downright rude.

I bought a groupon deal for a mani pedi at this shop. My friend called to make an appointment and gave the voucher number. We came for our appointment and the voucher was shown as redeemed. Even though I don’t live in the Bay Area and my bestie had never been there before. She claimed that she wouldn’t be able to honor the groupon and would not give it to us for the same rate. She kept telling us to contact groupon even though it’s Saturday and the offices are closed. I’m very frustrated by the lack of customer service and having to go through the hassle of contacting groupon and having to get a refund. Don’t waste your time at this place!

Groupon gave me a refund and I am so glad I actually got some good customer service.

This was the worst experience ever! Used my groupon to get a mani-​pedi and once I got there the lady who seemed to be the owner was rude. She didn’t make me feel welcomed and did not take her time doing my nails. But once the other two sweet Asian ladies started attending me it got better. They were really nice and made sure I was relaxed. If it wasn’t for their rude boss the place would be more welcoming.
I give them one star because of the two sweet Asian ladies other than that it would’ve gotten no starts at all. Don’t use your groupon here it’s a waste of your $ 30.

I’ve been to several places that do pedicures for $ 30 and this place blows them out of the water. Instead of bright overhead lights, you walk into a low lit room that creates a calming atmosphere.
There are only three pedicure stations. Walk-​ins are welcome but don’t hesitate to make an appointment. You’ll find that people really like this place.
My pedicure came with a foot and leg hot stone massage. It wasn’t weak by any standards. They’ll ask if they’re hurting you. If they are, let them know. For myself, they brought on the pressure and I loved it.
The women that work here are amazing. On the day that I went, the weather was cold and rainy so they were giving us warm tea, coffee, and cookies.
This place is definitely my go-​to place when I’m in the South Bay.
