I walked into this jewelry store one day looking to purchase a Michele Deco watch. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by a man that was very kind and polite. He took the time to show me a few different models, and he didnt make me feel rushed to buy. I purchased one and even though I only spent around $ 600 he made me feel like my purchase amount was more like a million bucks. He really appreciated my business and that was something I will never forget.
Well that transaction was almost seven years ago. I haven’t been in there, or made another purchase with them, until a few days ago. Not because I didnt want to. I moved seven hours away so distance just didnt permit me to do so. Also I couldnt justify buying big ticket items after having two toddlers.
But now, seven years later, when it came time to treat myself to a Michele Diamond CSX watch, I made no hesitation to call them.
When I called I spoke with a woman name Andrea. She helped me right away. She found what I was looking for and sent me an invoice to my Paypal. She did everything she said she would do. She always kept me in the know with what step my transaction was in, and made my transaction very smooth. I received my package just two days later. It was packaged nicely and my CSX is beautiful.
I can not express enough gratitude for the outstanding customer service Toppers provides. Even after seven years of not doing business with them they still came to my mind when it was time for me to order my next watch. That speaks to the great service they provide.

Just a short note to thank Liz Deleon. I purchased a watch for my son as a present. It stopped working shortly after he started wearing it. I called and explained this to Liz. I just picked up my first purchase here earlier this afternoon, and I am very impressed. The staff is incredibly professional, and Rob is even more enthusiastic about watches than I am. The pre-​sale service and communication were excellent, the pricing was very fair, and they were extremely helpful as I was browsing post-​sale, despite knowing that I wasn’t going to buy another watch that day. All-​in-​all, a great watch-​buying experience.

Sold my watch here awhile ago. One of the best watches store in Bay Area. The best part about the store is that it carries Grand Seiko and Zenith, two luxury watch brands hard to find in Bay Area. The sales and owners are very knowledgeable. Will definitely get a watch from Topper in the future.

I love Topper the staff are super friendly and ver accommodating. I’ve been to a lot of jewelry store and most of them are snob, they treat you the way you look. If your dress nice they are nice they think you’re potential buyer, if your dress down they’re like what ever! But not In this store. They answer all your questions and they give you suggestions and points, which I really like and appreciate. My first time in this store was just looking around, then I came back to order my baby’s earrings, then I had my Watch service. Never had a problem with them. That is why I keep coming back and do business with them.

I spent an hour here meeting Rob and his family, trying on a bunch of new watches, learning about new stuff that they’re collaborating with other manufacturers on, and in general, just having a really great, relaxed time. There is absolutely no pressure. The sale went flawlessly and they threw in some really, really awesome stuff. It was one of the best experiences I’ve had purchasing anything.

The place to buy a watch!
I just purchased my second watch at Topper Jewelers. As I was looking to buy my first automatic watch a year ago, I did a lot (and I mean a lot) of research online about watches. Once I decided what I wanted, the next step was whether to buy it online or at a local store?
I wanted to buy from an authorized retailer. I came across too many stories of people buying watches online that weren’t what they expected. In addition, the manufacturer won’t honor a warranty unless the watch was purchased from an authorized retailer. Although it’s unlikely that there will be a problem with a quality watch, it’s more a question of peace of mind.
A family-​owned business, Topper provides an excellent customer service experience. There’s no sales pressure, and people seem genuinely happy to work there. They are watch enthusiasts and are patient with questions. I’ll also mention that I was initially surprised at how competitive their prices are.
During this recent purchase when I just raised a question about something, they took the initiative to take care of it. They said, «Our goal is that you walk out of here completely happy with everything.» Well, I did!

I recently acquired the Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean from Rob and Russ at Topper Jewelers. I was extremely torn between the Planet Ocean and a couple of other Omegas initially. Both Rob and Russ were extremely helpful and informative in helping me come to my final choice of timepiece. Not to mention patient! Their collective knowledge and enthusiasm made this a great experience and I felt very well looked after indeed. The end result is that I am a very satisfied customer and feel I have a watch that I will be thrilled with for many years to come. After Russ took extensive time helping me determine what ring would best suit my style, my current engagement setting, and the composition of my hand, he made sure to offer me the best price I could get. When the time came to purchase a watch (two actually as my wife was in the position to acquire a luxury time piece) I discovered that selecting where and how to make the purchase was more daunting than the decision of which watch to buy!
Many years ago I purchased an Oris Big Crown Original Pointer Date from a well known high volume dealer who has a brick and mortar store in Los Angeles.
I likened the experience to putting money into a vending machine and out came the candy; this is in no way an exaggeration. From that purchase I was convinced there is no advantage to acquiring a watch from an authorized dealer rather than from an on line store; non authorized dealer. Many people do this even purchasing gray market goods, while other people purchase from a non authorized dealer who acquired the watch from an authorized dealer (transshipped). In that scenario if there is a service issue the watch is returned to the original AD; all in an attempt to save a few dollars. I do not discount the savings. In many instances the savings can be substantial; several hundred dollars and depending on the watch several thousand dollars.
The consensus among people who support purchasing a watch in this way is «why do you need an authorized dealer? If a service issue arises you do not go back to the dealer; he will only send it to the manufacturer’s service center for repair.» So these people will purchase with a warranty provided by the non AD.
As attractive and seductive as the potential for 25% and 30% off retail price, I was very fearful about buying two watches this way.
I ran a search for dealers on this site and Toppers Jewelry appeared often; specifically Rob Caplan’s name; all references to him and his postings were very positive.
The two watches that we wanted to buy were the Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra The Captain’s Watch (for my wife) and the Hamilton Khaki Auto 44 mm.
My wife inherited a Rolex Presidential with diamond bezel and diamonds on the dial in excellent condition. Our intention was to sell the watch and apply the proceeds from the sale to her Omega.
Sotheby’s refused to accept the piece for auction because the bezel had been modified; despite the fact that the diamonds were larger, it was not original. Bonhams would not accept the watch either for the same reason.
I sent an email with a photo of the Rolex to Rob Caplan and he was willing to take the Rolex in trade toward the purchase of The Captain’s Watch! Not only did he reply to emails, he called. Can you say «value added»?!
COSC watches are rated average daily rate: 4/+6. After my wife received her beautiful watch I determined that it was running +10.
Authorized dealers have RELATIONSHIPS!
Mr. Caplan contacted the Omega Service Center in Culver City both by phone and email to determine what could be wrong. After 11 days I walked into the service center and pointed out that it was now +20. They said «yes but that is after 11 days!»
Turns out the watch was actually running better than +2. I was the one who was wrong! I thought –4/+6 meant no more than +6 on any given day, not cumulatively!
Throughout this needless upset Mr. Caplan was in constant contact with me assuring us that the problem would be diagnosed and if found to be serious, the watch would be «refused» and my wife would receive a new one (as opposed to a repair).
Perhaps you are thinking «of course this is to be expected.» However if you go into Unilocal and research reviews of the large well known watch stores in Los Angeles and Orange County you will be dispirited not only by seeing the pervasive lack of service but in some cases how watches that were brought in for service were damaged.
After the sale customers were left out on their own thereby reinforcing the unfortunate consensus «who needs an authorized dealer anyway?!»
Mr. Caplan also removed several links so that the watch would fit. Although Toppers is in Burlingame and we live in Beverly Hills, he is not at a distance at all.
Regarding my watch, although it appeared on the Hamilton web site, Mr. Caplan advised me that it was not appearing in the dealer catalogue and may in fact be discontinued; again personalized service. I said «okay then let’s go with another Khaki Field watch» but Mr. Caplan advised me to be patient, «you should have the watch you want.» It finally did arrive and I am grateful that I waited; listened to his advice.
We could not be happier with our watch buying experience.

My husband recently purchased a Hamilton UTC watch with Topper via Rob Caplan. This was our third watch watch purchase experience.
The glued section on the leather band of his other watch came apart making the watch unwearable and Mr. Caplan replaced the band even though wrist bands are not under warranty. Based upon photos my husband sent, Mr. Caplan determined it was an unusual failure; a fluke, but rather than have my husband wait for a determination by the factory representative, Mr. Caplan shipped a new one, so my husband would not have to wait!
When my husband took the watch to the service center so they could remove the old band and put the new leather band on the watch, they concurred that there was no sign of damage by water on the wrist band where the glue came apart; contact with water that might have caused the glue to fail. In fact the band was otherwise in mint condition; they were puzzled too.
Yet again another example of impeccable and elegant handling of customers by Mr. Caplan; above and beyond expectations!

First off I have been never had such a good experience with such a large purchase. I had hundreds of questions, and multiple off the wall requests that were all attended to with quick responses. I did everything over the phone or with email because I am currently located in Texas. Rob Caplan took pictures of a majority of their Omega’s they had in stock and made sure I knew everything about each one. I am so happy I chose to do business here instead of one of those grey market places. In the end I purchased a flawless Omega Aqua Terra (231.10.39.21.03.002) If you’re looking for a great authorized dealer Rob Caplan will make sure you leave knowledgeable and extremely satisfied.

It all started with a casual search of authorized dealers across US who had a specific model or reference of Longines Hydroconquest (L3.696.4.53.6). None of the AD’s in Dallas at that point in time had that model and they were back ordered for at least 3 – 4 months. Found Topper Jewelers on
and talked to Rob for the first time. He was amazingly helpful and gave me an awesome deal on that reference and he even overnighted the watch to me. I was very very satisfied with the purchase.
Fast forward 7 months, I had a itchy left palm for the Omega Liquid Metal Planet Ocean (232.90.42.21.03.001). Called up Topper. This time Russ picked up the call. He was just as good and helpful like Rob and entire buying experience was like melted butter. Received the package the next day. Could not be more happy with the purchase. Like before it was an awesome deal.
Fast forward another 7 months and I got tad bored with 2 dark colored dial watches and I started thinking about a watch with white dial. I was contemplating to buy a Rolex Daytona. An idea struck to me to change the black dial of the Longines to white and the bezel to Red. Rob came to my rescue and he promptly ordered the items and got them replaced for me. Liz helped coordinate the logistics. She went out of her way to send pics of the parts and the finished product as soon as they were ready.
Overall, the entire consumer experience with Topper is just mind blowing. Everyone goes above and beyond to help the customer with their requirements. Definitely recommended for people looking to buy watches for which they are the AD’s. I would surely go back to them and only them if I feel the need to buy some more watches.

Just got my first luxury watch, walked in the store just wanting to try an omega planet ocean to see how it would look on my wrist, told the sales lady I am not buying yet, she went above and beyond to let me try couple of watches while she was dealing with other clients as well, at the end of it all reason I got the watch that day was mainly because of the amazing customer service and of course a great deal that they gave me. Owner of the store was a down to earth gentlemen that did something he didn’t need to do just so I can have the watch. If I ever need another luxury watch this is the place I am going to no doubt

I purchased an engagement ring from Topper Jewelers.
I have purchased many watches from Topper Jewelers over the years, and I have always been very satisfied with the service. Rob and Russ are expert watch enthusiasts of the highest order and are very well respected within the watch collecting community. Both men are knowledgeable, ethical and professional. I have always been very comfortable purchasing my Omega time pieces from them.
I had mentioned to Russ that I was looking for a loose diamond to purchase for my fiancée. He invited me to bring my fiancée in to examine some diamonds. Russ spent time with us demonstrating how to use the loop correctly and answered all of our questions. We learned a tremendous amount about diamonds that day.
We continued to shop around for about three to four months both on line and around the San Francisco Bay Area. We came back to Topper again to look at diamonds a few more times. On our third trip to Topper we found our perfect diamond. The diamond met all of our prerequisite specifications and was in our budget.
We decided to purchase the diamond from Topper because they provided the best combination of value, selection and service of all the jewelers we had visited. We felt very much like partners throughout the entire process.
A month later we purchased the setting at Topper. When my fiancée felt it was a tad too loose we came in and had it re-​sized. The ring came back as if it had not been altered in any way, the workmanship was excellent. Russ called the next day to make sure everything was to our satisfaction.

Ross is just a sales man; he might be knowledgable in this field, but I didn’t feel it that much. He was just trying to sell — I didn’t feel very welcoming.
We came there for the specific ring, and we were ready to buy it. I think when you see serious buyers, specially for engagement rings, you should spend your time with the couple ONLY. Ross was all of a place trying to please everyone except us– 5 minutes with us, 30 minutes with someone else. «Hello, we are here to spend $ 10K on a ring, please be so kind to spend your quality time with US.»
Finally purchased the ring. It came as was promised — in 2 – 3 weeks. The ring is loose — I am absolutely disappointed. When we were purchasing the ring, I mentioned to him that I might have size 6, but I want to double-​check. He was so busy with other customers that he didn’t even make sure that I was size 6 — not a good customer serve.
Yes, the store has good brands and good rings, but customer service definitely needs improvement.
I didn’t like my experience, and I won’t go there again when it will be time to pick wedding bands.

They were extremely helpful and even though I didnt make a purchase after months!!! they were sitll nice and polite and returned my calls and made sure I knew what was going on!

May 5^th, payday. Well at least it used to be back in the distant days when I would receive a regular paycheck. Never mind the fact that there were times my check would actually be negative and I would «owe» and have to pay back «out of my own pocket». It’s what happenned when you were the boss.
Let us digress some more. Last week, I just happened upon an episode of Mad Men (yes, I know I need to watch it from the beginning but you had it on!) and there were two scenes where the producers clearly were doing a product placement of a classic Omega watch.
It worked, it caught my eye. MUST HAVE.
Paydays are fuel for watch shopping. I already had an Omega, but not like this. Would Topper have it? Lets go on a field trip and find out.
I described the watch to Russ, he knew immediately which model of Omega it was. «Oh, the Seamaster blah blah blah».
He took out the watch and carefully placed it on the counter and walked away. No hard pressure sell, just left me alone with my new watch crush. I began to bond with my new baby and waved my credit card over to his direction.
Topper is great. Not only do they slap with you the absolute best customer service, the prices here cannot be beat. Right there with the Jewelry Mart… yep, you heard right.
