History

Established in 1999.

Guard Up developed the game system known as Points & Powers, which is one of the most impressive offerings of our classes and events. It is also the foundation of our NERF Zombie and Wizards & Warriors Summer Camps and After School Programs, providing an exciting and comprehensive rules system that allows students and campers to live the type of adventure they have only ever read about or seen in the movies. The focus of the game is to help students develop an understanding of strategy, tactics, teamwork, problem solving and other important life skills in a highly entertaining and creative environment. The success of this program has attracted the attention and dedication of people from all over the country who spend their summers at our camps — both as campers and as staff. We hope that you will join our family at Guard Up where exploration, fun and community are an integral part of our activities and where stories comes to life. Business Owner

Meghan Gardner (whose own daughters attend Guard Up and Wizards & Warriors camps), is trained by the American Camping Association as a Camp Director, and has more than 12 years of experience in running youth programs and 6 years running camps. Meghan has also taught (literally) thousands of kids and teens important Assault and Abduction Prevention skills through Guard Up, Inc., and has coached Junior Olympic Volleyball for the Gators Volleyball Club out of Bedford, MA. Meghan is the founder of Guard Up Family Swordsmanship & NERF out of Burlington, MA. Meghan’s hobbies include scuba diving, snowboarding, fire breathing and reading/​writing about Neuroscience and brain development in her blog.
