Never again! Service was terrible food was cold I don’t understand why it took over an hour to get it! My family and I were very disappointed! We didn’t even get what we ordered. Spoke to manager adjusted the bill but still felt like we over payed ugh

If there was an option for 0 stars this would be great. Where do i start? First off the girl Dominique that answered the phone inaudibly answered and mumbled terribly and when i asked her to repeat herself so i could make sure i had the right number she immediately got an attitude and responded with
«I SAID!!! Dank yow fow cowin AP-​OW-​BAES! Dis iz Dominique.» highly unprofessional. I coulndnt believe this was really an actual person that was hired to answer the phone. We have a 30 min lunch break where i work. I called a half hour before my break to ensure my order would be ready. I gave her my order very clear and it was simple. I asked her to repeat my order to me she popped her lips and sighed like i was inconveniencing her and hung up. I called back and asked if she had the whole order and she shouted «YAS!“and quickly hung up. When i went to pick up the order half was missing. OK. But i had to wait 35 mins for the rest of my order. I paid with a credit card and instead of swiping my card on the card reader right there Dominique had to bring my card to the kitchen first then only to return and swipe it on machine at the closest computer. Leaving me and my co-​workers without a break to eat. Once i handed it out to the hungry people i work with 4 out of 8 of the meals were wrong and one was still missing. I checked my receipt and i was charged. I called to complain to management and again Dominique answered and asked for my name. I paid with a credit card and didn’t want Dominique finding my information and using it to her advantage (assuming she didnt have it already). Once i refused to give a name other than a concerned customer Dominique hung up on me. This is how not to treat customers. This is why your lot is always empty. A little advice to Applebee’s… Stop hiring convicts and severely uneducated people as your front faces. They have turned a once thriving business into a joke. Never again will i order from there and i will spread the word to everyone i know to drive the extra 15 minutes and go to Munster where they appreciate you. And thanks i had to call my card in stolen for fear of buying Dominique her next manicure.

My fiancé was watching the food channel earlier today when he saw an AppleBees commercial for a burger with endless fries. Obviously, he was over excited and hungry so we went. The service was fantastic, and our server, Shivon, was great. The food itself was reasonably priced, and came out super quick. The food tasted «better than the commercial looked»!

I decided to return to Applebee’s calumet city location today because I really love French onion soup I was here Tuesday and the service was excellent & my server RJ was the absolute best. Fast forward today I’m greeted by my server Ashley I already knew what I wanted so as I ordered I asked was it possible to have all my wings prepared flat and she told me she would check mind you on Tuesday RJ had them prepared all flat and I was able to order 5! Ashley informed me I can’t order 5 and all flats aren’t an option, ok fine I waited 12 mins for her to return and take my order which to me it seems like I was irritating her. I’m very big on customer service and she lacks it in more ways than one. I’m very unhappy with this visit

Stay away from this place please!!! Not a manager was in sight there was 5 ppl in restaurant and we waited 15 mins to be seated as we watch countless server or host walk bye us not even a hello. So finally we was sat another 20 minutes went by before we was even greater or spoken to the waitress causally walks up smiling we decided to leave every time we come to the location its problems and issue. Desperate need of attention and manager

My mom lives in the burbs and likes chain restaurants *sigh* so I have to take her out to them.
This place was cool. I like the artichoke dip so much! :) The service is awesome. The waitresses are attentive, professional and nice.
The food choices range from gut buster to healthier choices it depends on what you order. The booths are great. I like talking to my mom across the table it’s close enough for us to hear each other, but not so tight in space that it feels awkward. Yeah, I put in a lot of considerations when I take my Mom anywhere then again we all should.

If one star was possible, they would get negative stars! To begin, we walk in and two workers say nothing. They proceed to sit the people who were waiting. Cool, I understand. However, to not even acknowledge our presence is unacceptable. They didn’t say «hi» or «I’ll be with you in a minute». They simply walked around like we weren’t there. He came back and asked us how many. He proceeded to check and see if there were tables. However, the table was dirty. We were cool with waiting but after waiting 10 minutes we weren’t impressed. So we left and drove a little further to Chillis where the service is always great!

I think I aged 2 Years waiting on water. did turtles become humans and take over this Applebee’s? the service is super snailish and I’m just waiting because I’m hungry. I would go down the street to chillies but I’m tired of driving today. wow I should have started my slow cooker and had a home cooked meal instead of this sloth like treatment.

Terrible service. Our server was slow, inattentive and completely unfriendly. We waited a while to place our order and probably at least 25 minutes for our lunch. After waiting 15 minutes for a glass of water, I finally had to ask the hostess for my drink. The food was fine, but the service was just so awful. I don’t care how crowded you are… you can still smile and be friendly!

Awful service! Awful. Should you wait 20 minutes for water? And an hour for food? It’s Always Applebee’s. How complicated can pasta and steak be? Never come here!

This place is the worst. Service is slow and horrible. They left my burger under the heat lamp for so long that it actually became dehydrated! And then served it to me. I wasn’t expecting a great meal, but I was hoping for edible.

I’m torn between giving 2 or 3 stars. The food was good, but our server kept forgetting to bring things we asked for, & apparently this location has a dj after a certain time. It was about 7 or 8pm when we got there, but the mjsic started about 9, I think. The music was so loud, I had to shout to be heard, & my 2 yr old didn’t need to hear the curse words in the songs that were being played. So, the enjoyable dinner was ruined by THAT. I couldn’t find the server so we could get the bill & get the heck out of there fast enough. NOT going back to that location.

Currently sitting, waiting now for 15 minutes to be seated at a table that’s open but not cleaned off. The host is nice but easily distracted, so after 15minutes she cleans the table by moving the dirty dishes from one table to another! Lord, help me! We were told that if we sit in section A we’d have to be prepared to wait but the manager would serve us if we sat in the section B. Confused? So were we!
The server greeted us after a brief wait and is seemingly friendly. It was only a matter of time. She is very attentive to my friend but not to me. Why do I have to call after her to get something that should’ve come as a part of my meal? Why does she only address my friend? How is your food… to my friend. Do you need anything else… to my friend. My friend orders dessert, she walks away and doesn’t ask if I would like something! Really?!
The food: I have never been to a restaurant that offers meat temp as «pink or not pink.» Huh? Lord help me! My suggestion, go for pink unless you like your meat crispy. My final issue was one of quality control. Once my friend ordered dessert for me (Lord), it came and was half the size of the exact same dessert she had! Really?! I’m. Done. Literally.
One last thing. I was only here because I was invited to a poetry set held on Tuesdays. The poetry and DJ were great! This is the only reason for the two stars.

Not too far from my mom, so we hit this joint up every now and then.
Staff is usually cool and are very nice and personable the way all servers should be.
I enjoyed the Cedar Salmon on my last visit which came with spinach & peas. I enjoyed the hell out of my meal as the salmon was cooked to perfection with some sort of cream sauce over it.

Food was over cooked, ribs and fish. When inquired about fish being over cooked manager, Jennifer, explained that it’s a double batter. It’s one thing to be extra crispy, but to crispy with a Burt taste is another.

I got a pomegranate lemonade which was pretty watered down. My entrée was a bacon mushroom roast beef melt. Disgusting.

So, the first time my boyfriend and I came here it took roughly 15 – 20 minutes for the bartender to even address us, get us water, menu, anything! We walked out, but spoke to the manager Ashley who understood our disappoint me and said she would be sure to take care of us if we come back.
We go back to this place a month later roughly, order our food, 2 steaks medium rare… and they gave us the steaks medium WELL. they had to take our food back and make it over again, which leaves us with two bad experiences here… We won’t be going back to this place… Ugh

I am giving the place a two stars for many reasons. First the staff are professional but they could clean up their language and speak more proper. Hearing slang while they are talking to you is ridiculous. Service was slow even though the place wasn’t full. Half of the restaurant was close for some unmentioned reason. The waitress that served us our plate was to lazy to actually walk around to our table to actually give us or plate. You could hear the manager yelling at the staff. Only good the was the food. If you want to try it be my guest but I would not recommend.

Came here for dinner because other Applebees restaurants I have been to (in Indiana), have been very good. The server (DAVID), seemed to be a nice kid, but his service completely sucked. Maybe he is new, I’m not sure, but the place was not full, so i don’t know why he took so long with our orders and when we did get them, they were wrong. I asked for a side of fries, and when I got them, I was done with my entrée. They didn’t even offer a free soda as a way of saying sorry. I noticed him apologizing to other guests too, so it seems like he was really having a bad night. The management here needs to do some serious re-​training. I don’t think I’ll come back to eat.

HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE service!
I took some out of town relatives here last night thinking the service should be better than the last time. Boy was I mistaken. Our one server was taking care of practically the entire restaurant. She wasn’t personable or apologetic. Took forever to get our drinks, appetizers and meal. This place is such a dump. Don’t waste your time, money or energy!!! I was so embarassed that i took my family here.
