Lacamas Medical Group PC

Sadly, my previous incredibly favorable review is the very antithesis of ‘care’ this practice ultimately provides; our experiences became disparaging, infuriating, and flat out wrong. I felt obligated to update my review to our community. Especially because I have been a healthcare professional with a medical license for 15 years.
My hubby, myself and our 3 daughters thought we had a wonderful provider in Eva Nystrom, we had been her patients for 4 years or more. When my husband was severely injured we endured difficult financial times and had to utilize states insurance, as he wasn’t able to work so our regence blue cross was inactive. Not having this type of insurance before we weren’t aware that its basically a monthly lotto, bouncing you from plan to plan, etc. On several occasions Penny, front desk clerk at LMG would call us the day of a scheduled appointment (after receiving confirmation reminder call the day prior) informing us whatever plan we were given isn’t accepted, and ‘Eva won’t be seeing you today’. Penny was completely apathetic, offered no direction, no advisement, no help, in fact when I asked for clarification on what I need to do her response was ‘we only take (whatever it was called) form of state insurance and without that Eva won’t be seeing any of you’. I then asked about refilling my daughters medications until I sort this out, her reply was monotone stating ‘Eva will not refill medication without the 3 month check up’. So my daughter had to stop her medication for anxiety, which is dangerous and unethical.
The next occurrence happened when I went into the office one day to talk with a «patient representative», at the front desk regarding the confusion with insurance and I was informed after she pulled up my EMR that Eva sent a letter discharging me from her care because of my «history of no shows’, I asked her to pull up my appointment history for my review because I have never knowingly missed an appointment. She did pull up the history, there were no «no show appointments’, EVER. Yet I was discarded by my physician whom I trusted. I was assured the office manager would be calling me (she didn’t). And neither did Eva or her medical assistant to apologize or reconcile the confusion. I also had to stop taking a medication abruptly that had serious consequences to my balance and function. Finally, my husband went in for his 3 month check up after they called and confirmed the day prior and he planned to discuss our concerns with Eva, however when he got to her office he was informed he had an outstanding bill from 2012 when apparently his ex wife went to lacamas medical urgent care and gave his insurance information (which she no longer had as they were divorced) and she gave his information for the ‘billing party’, and it went to collections before we knew about it, and AGAIN another member of my family stood at the front desk as he was told ‘Eva will not see you as there was an outstanding bill». My husband has to take 2 medications for an illness that debilitates him without medicinal therapy, medications Eva has been prescribing him for 5 years and he was told she won’t see him and she won’t fill even a 30 day supply, though his health would suffer immensely, and it did, and our long time doctor, her nurse, or any other member of our doctors office cared one bit. I was so confuaed, what was happening at our doctors office that we always loved? Then I realized– as soon as my family changed to state insurance coverage we were worth much less, less than half of what commercial insurance pays for an office visit. They were ruthless and wrong and the opposite of caring. Ironically, my family of 5 had our excellent commercial insurance back shortly after these unfortunate experiences, and our new family physician now has 5 new patients with excellent insurance.
Lacamas medical group is in violation of the following:

I saw some negative Google reviews, so I thought I’d share my experience. I have very high expectations when it comes to medical care and customer service. We switched to this clinic from Family Wellness Center due to some very bad experiences there during my daughters last emergency asthma attack and hospital stay. I brought her in to Lacamas Medical Group and the urgent care doctors were very attentive and caring. They followed up first thing the next morning out of genuine concern. Her own primary care doctor didn’t even show concern. We have seen just about every doctor in their practice over the past few years for multiple issues, and we are now all established primary patients. We never have to wait for weeks to see a doctor, and I love their small town attitudes. Billing and scheduling are always friendly. We are fans.

Stopped in for a pre employment drug screening and it was easy peasy. The staff was great and i was in and out within 15 minutes.

Find the place really convenient, but don’t really appreciate the lady at the front desk giving her opinion on what’s urgent and what’s not… she should just do her job and collect paperwork and answer the phone… she is not a nurse nor a doctor…

I have always had fantastic experiences at Lacamas Medical Group, no matter which doctor/​PA or RN I have seen. Service is always friendly, professional and efficient. I can always get an appointment when I need it, without having to wait for days for an opening. Calls get answered promptly and professionally by a real friendly person, without a touch-​tone maze or automated options and long waiting queues on the phone. They have fabulous hours, on-​site X-​rays and even some pharmacy services. I am very impressed with their Medical Group and will for sure keep going there with my family. Thank you to all of the staff … from reception, to nurses, to doctors…, for making health-​related services such a pleasure. You are awesome!!!

I really like coming here. I have found that if there are lines they are pretty short and you are seen within 15 min. They do provide children flu shots which is a big plus. Dr Scott is great and the rest of the staff are very helpful. I have only used it as an urgent care but I plan on making Dr Scott my general as well. Keep up the great work Lacamas Medical Group

One of the better MD experiences I have had, although thankfully I haven’t had many of them. The office staff were very nice and efficient. There was a laid-​back and caring atmosphere; not the least bit hurried or detached. I think it’s great they have an urgent care. I listed 4 stars because I thought what was billed to insurance was a little steep, but that might be the industry-​standard for initial visits.

I’ve been coming here for a year now. It’s nice that it has both doctors and urgent care. I’ve also been here for both places. I like that all my info is in one place.
I actually started coming here because of an urgent care thing (my back) and I liked the doctor so much he became my regular one!
It is also nice that the two different clinics are in the same area because if I can’t get it to see my doctor I can go to urgent care and still be at the same clinic!
