Specialties
A village of outstanding accommodations and private cottages all with beautiful views of Penobscot Bay. Wood-burning fireplaces, 2 person Jacuzzi tubs, luxurious linens and all the high end comforts of home. We are just enough outside of Camden Proper to be able to enjoy the quiet of the woods and the views of the Bay at the same time. And with only a short walk into town makes this the perfect getaway.
History
Established in 1976.
Over thirty years ago, Jack and Mimi Burgess retired to Camden and bought The Lodge at Camden Hills. Their goal was to create a comfortable spot to relax and enjoy the tranquil Maine coast for both themselves and their guests. On one of their very first brochures for the Lodge, they wrote:
«The Lodge at Camden Hills is a distinctive hotel of modest size, open year round, and designed for the more discerning traveler and visitor to the mid-coast area. It is desirably located one mile north of town in peaceful surroundings on the eastern slope of Mt. Megunticook with broad views of Penobscot Bay and its numerous islands, adjacent to the 5000 acre Camden Hills State Park and its scenic drive to the top of Mt. Battie, 800 feet above sea level, from which you can enjoy an unobstructed panorama of 50 miles or more.
The immediate area has much to offer. Within minutes there are mountains to climb or the rocky coast to explore, golf, tennis, day sailing, swimming in salt or fresh water.»

Manager
Owners Jim Burgess and wife Jody Payne call Tenafly, New Jersey home but will always have Camden, Maine and the Lodge at Camden Hills in their hearts. Both still busy professionals with family in tow, Jim and Jody spend as much of their down time as they can at The Lodge and always hate to leave. When they are here, you’ll find (or not find) Jim hiking in the State Park behind the lodge and Jody is tending to the gardens and looking for ways to improve the rooms and grounds.
Kelly Hill is now behind the helm of The Lodge. She comes to us with over 15 years experience in the hospitality industry. Her management has allowed The Lodge to grow and move forward into a new era. When you see her you will also most likely see her two «helpers», Oslo and Phil not far behind.
Kelly hails from beautiful Northern Michigan and has made many stops along her path to the Maine Coast; Colorado, New Zealand and Vermont, to name a few. «The Lodge at Camden Hills felt like home to me the se
