Amy was my month of coordinator but worked with my pretty much a year prior to our wedding day. After meeting several other wedding planners, Amy was unique in that she didn’t push her ideas on me but give suggestions. I was pretty set on how I want things to look and run and really needed someone to work on execution, be my person for any vendor issues, and watch for any errors/​holes we may have missed. She did exactly that and more. She is very quick to respond to emails and was great at keeping me on track. I had some last minute needs, florist and chair covers etc, she was able to connect me with great vendors that offered me good prices for their services. I had a several DIYs and sections of the wedding that I opted to do it a nontraditional way and Amy was very accepting for respecting my wishes. For our rehearsal, she did a great job of letting everyone know what to do and provides us all with clear, detailed schedules of the wedding events.
Come wedding day, I felt very little stress, Amy made sure to inform me of any minor issues that needed my decision and made sure to follow my wishes throughout the day. It was apparent that she cared to make the day a success and to make sure all guests enjoyed themselves. I would definitely recommend Amy to help you with your wedding. Thanks Amy for everything!

I wonder why there are so many good reviews.

First off, let me start by saying If i could give a 6 or 7 star review I would. This is review is in reference our wedding my wife wrote about in the previous review but from the grooms perspective. Wedding Planning for most grooms are typically an arduous experience. Often times, most guys see it as a pain to pick colors, venues etc, and typically don’t care much about how the end result looks. I, am not one of those grooms. I believe in a collaborative effort when choosing colors because the way i see it, if I pay this much for the biggest party I will probably ever hold in my life, I need to care enough about what the end product looks like. But anyway, I digress. In the beginning stages of our planning, Amy was very flexible and very willing to hear out our ideas in an effort to bring our vision to life. Throughout the wedding planning process, Amy made herself very available and very resourceful (going to dress fittings with my wife and setting up vendor meetings with the our videographer and DJ). Being a from a Cantonese speaking family, my mother tends to be quite overbearing and worrisome about saving face at our wedding weeks prior and all the way to the night before. Amy’s ability to speak Cantonese helped put my mother at ease and helped ease the rest of my immediate family as well. The day of the wedding itself, I had gotten a total of 4 hours of sleep prepping the night before. Amy’s ability to take charge of the day and her timeline of the day were both instrumental in making our wedding day seamless and a day to truly remember. Her vision for the church and the reception were more beautiful than I had imagined when initially looking at her inspiration boards. In a couple years, my wife and I plan to have children and a baby shower is in order. Amy, we’ll be in touch ;)

Amy was our lifesaver during our wedding planning months. My husband (fiancé back then) and I were set on planning our wedding without any professional help… Boy were we in for a great surprise! We had no idea where to begin and what we needed to do! After months of TRYING to plan, we did know for sure that we needed a wedding planner. After contacting numerous wedding planners, Amy stood out to us. Not only was she prompt on replying back to our email but wanted to meet with us in person to get to know us more. Amy is very knowledgable, PATIENT, and well organized. I emphasize patient because I was a bridezilla during those wedding planning months (sorry Amy!). My husband and I felt we both didn’t need to worry about anything except for making final decisions. We knew Amy had everything under control. She was on top of everything from vendors, vendor payment due dates, décor, etc. She even went with my friends and I to go wedding dress shopping!
On the day of our wedding everything ran smoothly! It was great knowing I didn’t have to worry about anything as the bride and the fact that I didn’t have to rely on my bridesmaids or groomsmen to run around. Amy and her team had everything under control. Even my in-​laws who were against having a wedding planner from the very beginning, was very impressed how organized our wedding was. There were no hiccups or issues and even if there was I had no idea about it haha
Amy was with worth every penny we spent to help plan our beautiful wedding. My husband and I still talk about how Amy was the best decision we made for our wedding. If you are looking for a wedding planner, please consider Amy, you won’t regret it!

Amy is amazing and hiring her as our wedding planner was the best decision! When my husband and I got engaged we were both very busy with our jobs and school. My husband was trying to finish his thesis and I was busy working for the county. With the stress of everything going on we quickly realized that we needed extra help for wedding planning. We started looking on Unilocal and wanted to find someone we clicked well with and could speak Cantonese. Right off the bat we had a good vibe from Amy and knew she was the one! When we stated planning, we were also preparing to move back to San Jose. Things were very crazy but Amy stepped up right away and was in communication with us giving us ideas and suggestions. She was with us every step of the way through our planning process and was also available and quick with her email responses. I can honestly say I did not expect how much time planning takes for the wedding and as we progressed through the process my husband and I told each other on multiple occasions we wouldn’t have been able to get married on our wedding date without her and would have had to move the wedding.
Fast forward to our wedding day, Amy had everything organized and planned with our timeline for the day. This was helpful since we had to coordinate our ceremony, tea ceremony, and reception. Amy was there bright and early and did amazing directing everyone and making sure we stayed on schedule. Our wedding ceremony was beautiful and flawless. Amy’s design for the flowers and candles was beautiful and romantic for the church we were at. It was more beautiful then I could have ever expected! Amy also did a great job helping us with our tea ceremony. She organized and helped us set it up and make sure we stayed on schedule and that the ceremony was smooth. Everyone told us that it was the smoothest/​most organized tea ceremony they have been to. When we got to reception, my husband and I were in awe. Everything was beautiful and was exactly what we wanted. It was literally a dream come true! Through the night we were actually ahead of schedule a lot since Amy kept everyone on track, which was amazing!
Through our whole day Amy worked to keep it going smooth. Amy made both my husband and I feel so calm throughout the day! She is amazing and I would recommend her to anyone looking to have a wedding planner. She will help you make your day special and memorable. Thank you for everything Amy! :)

When we started to think about our wedding, I wanted my now-​husband and I to do a lot of the details together, as I love to work on small crafts projects. However, we knew that we wouldn’t be able to handle a lot of the coordination leading up to the wedding itself. Amy was our month-​of coordinator, which was a perfect balance for us.
Amy was very knowledgeable and helped us make a lot of decisions about things we hadn’t even considered before. She also made a lot of recommendations that really made the day even better. It was awesome working with her, and it definitely would not have gone as smoothly without Amy.
We had a slightly strange theme to our wedding (it was themed around a set of stuffed black and white pigs), and Amy totally took it in stride and suggested ways to incorporate them.

My husband and I got married at Villa Montalvo in August of 2014. Amy was by our side from very early on in the wedding planning process and, as the date neared, we started leaning on her more and more. My husband and I both work full-​time and a difficult family illness struck six weeks before our wedding which made coordinating and deciding on last minute details very difficult. Amy understood what we were going through and went above and beyond what she had agreed to do to help make sure our wedding was the perfect day we had envisioned. Hiring her was one of the best decisions we made. Amy consistently caught details we had overlooked, asked our vendors important questions we never would have thought to ask, and gently pushed us to provide her necessary information (seating chart, ceremony songs, etc.) while being patient when it took us longer than planned to make decisions and gather the information.
In the end we couldn’t have been happier with our wedding. It was the most wonderful, romantic, and joy filled day of our lives. Everything went smoothly and perfectly and Amy was a big part of that.

I want to start off by saying that hiring Amy as our wedding planner was the best decision we could have ever made for our wedding. I would recommend her to anyone in a heartbeat, as I know she could be suited to any type of couple and any type of wedding. That is one of the most impressive things about her, and why I can say that she can fit the bill for any wedding/​event. She really listens and can get a sense of your needs, so whether you’re looking for someone to take total charge or be just your right-​hand man, Amy can do it all.
A little background about our situation: my husband and I live in Los Angeles and planned to have our wedding in San Jose since all of my family is up there. To make matters more challenging, my husband, who is in the navy, was on deployment basically the whole year, and I was traveling to Ohio weekly for my consulting job. I have to tell ya, with Amy helping me take care of the details of the wedding from across the country, I never felt concerned about anything, and knew that things were being handled.
Amy has a very strong network of vendors she recommended to me, and they were all excellent professionals to work with. Not only did her recommended vendors sing praises about working with her, the catering manager at my chosen venue (which was not on her list of recommendations to me) also mentioned to me several times that Amy was so very easy to work with because she was very organized and on top of everything. It really says something when other vendors are excited to be working with your wedding planner.
Amy was always really good about checking in with me to make sure that we were on top of our checklist against the timeline. I never had to worry about forgetting anything. Amy set up all my meetings with the vendors, and accompanied me to basically all of them, where she listened to our discussions, made sure all the important questions and points were covered (even things I didn’t know or think of asking), and helped me weigh decisions when I needed the insight. This was also really important also because when I couldn’t make the meetings with the vendors (being across the country and all), I felt confident that she would be able to go for me and could handle and make the decisions I would make myself.
Prior to the wedding date, Amy put together a very detailed timeline for the day, and if you saw this thing, you knew that the day would go very smoothly. I’m very much a worry-​wort and super anal about dealing with things with my own hands, but you’d have never guessed that about me seeing me work with Amy. I was able to sit back and enjoy my day and entertain my guests knowing that Amy had everything under control.
In the end, I really can’t recommend her enough. You can’t go wrong with hiring Amy as your wedding/​event planner.

Amy has been exceptional from the beginning to the end. We hired her for the half and half package. She was always punctual for every meeting. She set reminders for us and was proactive in ensuring tasks were complete on time. She referred a couple of vendors for us, such as the cake, the officiant, the florist, and the makeup artist, all of whom were within our budget and have such exceptional service to our wedding that they completely exceeded our expectations. Hiring Amy for our wedding turned out to be the best investment decision we made. We highly recommend her. You can trust her and you will be in good hands.

Although my husband and I are based down in southern California, there was no question that we were going to get married in the bay area since we are originally from there and our families are still based up there. But planning a 300-​person wedding from 500 miles away was a daunting proposition, especially when we were trying to do it in about 6 months. So a full service wedding planner was a must. After searching through numerous wedding websites and interviewing several promising planners, we happily decided on Amy, who had tons of experience, spoke both Cantonese and Mandarin (to better communicate with our demanding family… seriously, not our idea to have a 300 person wedding) and was luckily within our budget.
It was the best decision we ever made.
Amy guided us from start to finish. She was there from the beginning, advising us on what to expect from the whole process, helping us realistically sort out costs and refine our budget. She brought in a designer (Venus Wei of La Vie Douce Designs) to help us flesh out our vision for the event. She worked with our busy schedules and made time on the weekends we were up in the bay area and set up meetings with venues and vendors. She also worked closely with us to narrow down and find what we were looking for on every front: from the event space to the photographer to the cake to invitations, she was there, ready with an enthusiastic smile and some gentle wisdom. She introduced us to competent and professional vendors who (like herself) made everything look and run like perfection. She was always a calming and bright influence on any situation, and because of her attention to detail and masterful planning, our complicated event (big ceremony + big Chinese tea ceremony + big Chinese banquet reception) ran smoothly and my husband and I were able to enjoy one of the best days of our lives.
As someone who works with corporate and press events as part of her job, I can say that Amy is one of the best event planners I’ve ever worked with, and would highly recommend her to anyone looking to plan an event. Amy rocks!

Amy is awesome! If we were to get married all over again, we would pick Amy hands down! On multiple occasions my wife has reiterated that of all the wedding expenses: Amy’s fee was the best money we could have spent. We opted for the month of planning in addition to her coordinating the wedding event. She is a fantastic resource for vendor recommendations and contacts. She is professional, organized, creative with planning ideas (but not pushy), courteous and on top of it! She was especially thorough with time lines and logistics.
On the day of the wedding we felt confident knowing that Amy had everything under control, and she did! Everything went seamlessly and without a hitch; even with multiple locations, shuttles, etc. On top of that she is a really down to earth person, and fun to work with. Hiring Amy to help with our planning was the single best decision we made when it came to planning our wedding. She did a great job of helping us straighten out all of the details and helping manage all the expectations of the different groups involved in the planning.

It was a pleasure working with Amy. As an event vendor myself, I am very critical of how well others in our industry work together. We recently worked on a wedding and she was very organized and thorough with timelines, set up, and other logistics. We were very well taken care of and all of our spacing, electrical, and other operational requirements were met.
All of the guests looked like they were having a great time which usually translates to a great event that was well planned and well executed. Big thumbs up!

I can’t thank Amy enough. Our wedding went off without a hitch. She listens to all your ideas and input other ideas to compliment yours. She made sure everything went smoothly. My reception venue did not have a square cake stand for my square cake. Amy used vases for the platform for the cake and surrounded it with flowers. It was gorgeous! As I was starting to plan my wedding, the first item on my list was to look for a coordinator. A lot of my friends who got married before had told me it makes such a big difference to have someone during the day to coordinate the ceremony/​reception and Amy certainly made a difference!
Even before the month-​of our wedding, she answered a lot of questions over email on questions and suggestions. As the day came close, we met a couple of times to go over the details and she had a list of items and questions that I had missed.
She contacted all my vendors beforehand, talked to them over the phone to make sure they knew exactly where/​when to show up and what to do. Her timelines for me and my husband, my bridal party AND my vendors helped us tremendously to keep the rehearsal and the wedding day going as smoothly as possible.
During the wedding day, I didn’t have to worry a thing about vendors as she took care of everything. There were even some guests who showed up unexpectedly and I just had to tell Amy to add a few more chairs to the tables and she took care of the rest.

We hired Amy as our wedding planner for our wedding in November at Nestldown. It was the best decision that I have made during wedding planning! I am usually a do-​it-​myself type of person, but to make sure everything goes smoothly and less friction between me and my fiancé, we decided to hire Amy!
