I hosted a 200+ guest 1^st birthday party. I definitely did not want to cook. I booked Big Ruub’s taco and couldn’t be happier with making that decision. Regina came to my event with a team of 2 other workers. She was set up and ready to deliver food in no time. They can definitely handle a big crowd of hungry people and deliver great food! If your looking for a taco catering company look no more. Hands down best food and service!

WARRIORS GAME NIGHT!
JK! Well, not really. There happened to be a warriors game the same night as my friends birthday soirée and of course, nobody wants to have to cook during a party so she decided to look for a taco catering company that would come and do all the dirty work for us.
They definitely did not disappoint!
Not only did she request for them to work later in the day at 8PM since we all work on Fridays but she requested for them to make quesadillas for the kids, which were amazing because that meant us adults also had enough to make QUESADILLA TACOS!
Thank you Ruben for being extra accommodating, providing more than enough food, and celebrating yet another Warriors win with us.

We hired Ruben’s team for a kids birthday party. We had about 40 people and everyone loved the food! The two ladies serving our party were so friendly and fast! We booked the party just a week in advance, and Ruben was so responsive every step of the way. We will definitely hire him again!

Big Ruub’s is where it’s at. We catered our son’s first birthday and everything was great. His crew showed up on time and everyone loved the chicken and beef tacos. We had about 45 people and everyone had plenty of tacos. They stayed for a full 2 hours, which means even the late arrivals had fresh tacos ready. It was easy to setup by text message — no forms or multiple phone calls. If you want to cater a party, you can’t go wrong with Big Ruub’s.

They did my engagement party up in Saratoga hills and they were amazing! The food was perfect! They were professional and fun! I recommend them to anyone and everyone! Thank for making our party so awesome!

Wonderful food! Ruben and his fiancée, Regina, put on a delicious spread for my son’s wedding luncheon. The food was beautifully cooked, fresh, visually appealing. They arrived in plenty of time, set up their cooking area and served our group of 50. Everyone loved the food including several of our «foodie» relatives who are usually very critical about anything they eat. They were friendly and pleasant to everyone including the two toddlers who wanted to watch the cooking. After the lunch they completely cleaned up their area, leaving no work for us. They’re not great at returning emails and calls quickly, but are completely dependable. Many of our guests asked for their business cards so they could call on «Big Ruub» for their gatherings.

We had Ruben help out for a birthday party at our house. Everybody raved about the tacos — they were great. Beyond that though, Ruben was so incredibly responsive while booking and communicating about the event. Highly recommend!

What a great group to work with beginning with an immediate response to my first text asking about their availability for my daughter’s Sweet 16 party all the way to leaving our 20 teenage guests happy and full!!!
Rebecca and her daughter were the picture of efficiency, arriving with everything possible to create a fresh to order taco extravaganza that was so delicious! It was a great help to me that they also served :)
At the end, they completely cleaned up, packed their tables and cooking supplies but the yummy leftovers were left in our fridge for us to enjoy another day!
I will definitely use them again and recommend them to my friends!

Let me start off by saying that I am VERY picky when it comes to tacos. I had tacos from Ruben before and chose these guys without even tasting any other tacos. Planning was very easy and I had plenty of options to choose from. Whether I wanted rice and beans or add some extras like guacamole and sour cream. The crew arrived on time and gave me a courtesy call to let me know, which was very convenient. Once the food was ready, everyone was in line and went back for seconds, thirds and even fourths! If you are looking for a decent taco with awesome service I definitely recommend these guys and give then two thumbs up!

Ruben’s crew helped us with Catering for our daughter’s first birthday party for about 50 people. He was very good to work with as we were planning date, menu and logistics. On the day of the event, his crew arrived on time, and cooked the meats on site which was very cool. Food was fresh, delicious and laid out very neatly. Our guests really like the live food station.
He brings his own table and cutlery for serving, so you don’t need to worry about that.
I made some homemade Salsa and a Veggie entrée, Ruben’s team was very welcoming to serve our food as well. I will definitely have him for our future events.

They catered a lunch at my office last week for 45 people. They arrived on time, completely set up everything quickly and served. They kept the food trays full throughout the lunch. The best part is their food is so incredibly delicious. We also had churros, which were incredible. Their team is very professional, nice and helpful. We will definitely use Big Rubb’s again as the employees loved the food!!!
They also catered a lunch for my father-in-law’s funeral in May. They handled everything so we didn’t need to worry about feeding the guests. They set up, served and cleaned up. It was a big relief for the family. Again, the food was delicious and everyone commented on how much they loved it.

5 stars food, service food and reasonable price! We hired Big Ruub’s for my son’s 1^st birthday party at community club house this month. (~40 guests) Ruben’s team arrived early on event date and set up everything quickly and professional. Their tacos were super DELICIOUS! Our guests all raved how great the Tacos were and asked for their business cards. They prepared more than enough food and even packed up all leftover to us at the end. Really appreciated it. I will definitely use Big Ruub’s again for my future event and highly recommend them to anyone who looking for taco caterer. Ruben catered my son’s 5^th birthday party today and I’m so happy that I had to jump on Unilocal and give him 5 stars! I’m a mom with two young kids and always looking for affordable and easy to work with vendors to help me do less work and enjoy the party after all the planning. I’m so pleased with the quality, price point and overall experience with Ruben and company that he’s definitely going to be my go to guy for future parties.
SERVICE: Ruben is professional, responsive, easy to work with and just an overall nice guy. He has a lot of experience and I didn’t have to worry whether there was enough food or whether he was going to be on time. He was 5 minutes late and called to let me know he was on the way and would be there shortly which saved me from worrying. We didn’t get much time to chat with him but he was so pleasant, easy going, professional and confident that I didn’t feel like I had to worry about a thing.
FOOD: Fresh and so tasty! Plenty to go around for 50 adults and 33 kids. We had carne asada, chicken and al pastor for the meats and Chips and salsa and fruit platters for sides. Everyone was stuffed and we still have enough left overs to feed our family for the next few days!
BONUS POINTS: He has his own tables so you don’t have to worry about renting any. He has an assistant who is equally as professional, polite and competent. All our guests raved about his food! I didn’t have to spend any time preparing food, cooking or restocking empty food trays! Instead, I got to talk to guests and enjoy the party!

WANT TO GIVE A HUGE Thank you to Big Ruub’s and Crew. For catering my Daughter’s sweet 16 party this pass weekend. Things started out a little late but they put it down and had the food cooking in no time. I like that they stayed latter for my late coming ppl to serve them. All food was good by the end of the night nothing was left. Hands down I recommend them for any event you are having. Once again thank you for the food. I will be using them again.

This past Sunday, Big Ruub & Zach’s catered my daughter’s baby shower at Vasona Park! Regina was running the show, and she came along with an assistant. They hooked us up! They were prompt, inviting, courteous, and really know how to cook up some delicious food (my son kept going back for more!). The service was also 5 star, and so many of our guests complimented us on what a great business we hired! We will be long-​time, repeat customers for sure! Thanks again for making our event so special!

Now on my list of trusted go to crew. Ruben’s crew provided catering services this past Memorial Day weekend for my younger brother’s grad and our guests were very pleased.
He responded to messages (even if it was to say he was at work and he’ll follow-​up in a bit), and continued to do so before, during, and AFTER the event, so the little things sure go a long way and that was very much appreciated.
On the day of service, his daughters showed up an hour before the scheduled time to set up and prepare, leaving plenty of time to spare before serving time. My family were impressed with their efficiency and professionalism. They came, checked in, assessed the area, then quietly pulled up, set up, and even moved their car back to another spot (we still don’t know where they moved it to) out of the way of everyone. They were all smiles and friendly, very polite and easy to work with.
We had a group of less than 45 people, so we had Ruben’s flat fee that came with three meats + rice, beans + onions, limes, cilantro, red/​green salsas. We chose the marinated chicken, carne asada, and carnitas. The chicken was definitely an overall crowd favorite, but I preferred the carnitas and some had liked the steak better (thank goodness we were able to pick 3, otherwise I wouldn’t know what to leave out). They served for about an hour and a half, and at the end, they placed the leftover meats in the rice tray along with the tortillas and other condiments so we can continue to feast for days.

They were fast, delicious, and convenient. We served a group of ~30−40 people for a birthday party and everyone was raving about the food. Ruben was easy to work with, polite, and professional.
Plus, now I have leftovers to eat… tacos for the next three days? Not a problem!
The one thing I would add — if you have a family member or friend who is sensitive to salt for health or other reasons, a couple of the meats were quite salty. They were good for my taste, but it might be worth asking if a low-​salt alternative is available. The carnitas, for instance, were not as salty as the marinated chicken and al pastor but that was to be expected.
Oh, and definitely splurge on the guac!

We had a great experience having Ruben cater our casual wedding reception. They kept in touch via email, had the best prices, and the food was DELICIOUS!
I had called/​emailed around for different catering options, but had the best response from Ruben… which meant a lot. They answered quick, were very friendly, and had TONS of options. Most places were very strict and didn’t offer a lot of help, but Ruben was different.
We had 3 different meat options, rice, beans, and salsas for 75 people. And it was AWESOME! Everyone raved about the food and everyone wanted to take home the leftovers!
They brought all their own gear: Tables, canopy, grills, etc. I just pointed out a spot for them to setup, and they had everything ready right on time.
Very professional… friendly…on time. delicious…and for the right price. I couldn’t have asked for anything more. I am telling all of my friends and family.

We called them to cater the day before our event. They came in 1 hour early to set up, didn’t expect them to come in that early, but they wanted to make sure everything went smoothly. Meats were delicious and everyone had a blast. Thank you again for coming in on short notice. I would definitely recommend this place if our company wants to have tacos for our next event.
