Campbell Inn

My nana got me a room here for my wedding night, last night. We went in around 10pm and tried to check in. I had all the paperwork and gave them my id. The room was in my name, and yet the refused to let me check in. I was told my nana had to be there since she paid. I tried to call my nana but at 10pm, and her being 72, she was asleep. I asked if they could hold my card and she come the next morning before we check out. Again, no. I then asked to speak with a manager and Daisy said «there’s no manager» I said, «okay, when there is a problem, who do you go to?» She said when they have a problem, they call the manager. So I asked her to call him. She rolled her eyes at me and called. Two seconds later she said «he said no» I asked if I can speak with him as this is my wedding night and I don’t want to spend the night at home. She calls again and tells the manager «I told her you’re off but she won’t listen. She is making me call you» gets off the phone and says «he said he’s off and won’t speak to you. His hours are Monday to Friday, come back Monday.» I replied with «what am I supposed to do?» Her answer? «I don’t care, you can stand here till Monday.» And looks at the old lady in front with her and they laugh. I leave in tears and call my sister who goes to my nanas house and wakes her up. They drive down to Campbell inn. And my nana says «you have all of my information, why wouldn’t you let her check in?» Turns out they had a copy of my nanas drivers license and credit card the whole time. There was no reason for them to not let me check in. I ended up going home and crying myself to sleep. Thank you Campbell inn for making me wedding day something to remember.

Honestly, places like this should have like –1 star rating. Carpet were so dirty that I had to tell them to perform a deep carpet cleaning. Linens were full of stains (including some red ones) hair all over the bathroom. What else can I say after that?. The place in general was so dirty, nasty and OLD that I don’t think is worth to complain about it. They need to tear it down and re-​construct.

Recently went back to stay at Campbell inn and was extremely disappointed that my favorite front desk girl is gone… even though I have had issues with cleanliness of the rooms in the past, I kept coming back because of her customer service. My last stay was a nightmare to say the least and I am still waiting to hear back from the «manager» who NEVER seems to be there and apparently could care less about guests concerns or complaints. Never Again! Lindsey you are greatly missed!!!

My husband and I were on our honeymoon and nothing was available. We were skeptical about staying here bc of all the reviews and rating but had little options. They were very accommodating and friendly. The breakfast buffet was nice and we felt safe to stay for a night

If I could give it a zero I would. The only thing this hotel had going for it was the blonde girl behind the front desk named Lindsey. She was a real class act. Now that she’s not there anymore I will take my business elsewhere. The manager, Raz something, is shady as f@&!. He is totally unreasonable and has no social skills. He is ruining what used to be a nice hotel. The place is run down and dirty and now that the savvy blonde behind the front desk isnt there anymore, there is no reason to stay there. My company is finding another hotel to put us up in. The place is a joke.

pretty average hotel. probably borderline motel if anything. Carpets were dirty, rooms need a major renovation. Hotel staff were friendly, location is good. I guess the price could be justified because of location. Wouldn’t recommend to others coming to stay in the area

Why isn’t zero stars an option on Unilocal?I don’t even know where to begin with this horrifying, yet mercifully short experience. For those of you less interested in the details, here are the highlights — crackheads, drug dealers, filthy rooms, and squaters.
I guess it makes sense to start with the check-​in. My boyfriend and I took a late flight in from the east coast and arrived to the Campbell Inn at about 1am. We were exhausted and already unimpressed with the run down look and feel of this «inn» AKA motel. When we walked in to the lobby there was a woman in front of us getting new keys made because hers stopped working for the third time during her brief stay. Once she was done, the disheveled man behind the counter greeted us. He was not your typical hotel customer service representative. Although he was very nice, he proceeded to ramble on about a number of subjects that had nothing to do with getting us a room — including, but not limited to, breakfast in England and what types of jokes chickens think are funny — for about 25 minutes. We were visibly exhausted but he did not understand basic social cues. When he finally gave us our room key about 35 minutes after we arrived he warned us that if the lock light on the door flashed yellow when we put our card in we were to immediately return to the lobby because that meant there were people in the room he would have to go in and remove. I’m assuming that’s a common problem since we needed to be told about it.
As we approached our room, what I can only assume was a tweaked-​out meth dealer welcomed us. He was standing watch in front of the room next door to us. What a lovely welcome party.
When we entered the room it was like a 1960’s nightmare and there were unidentified bugs flying around. I don’t think this place has been updated since it opened. We went to close the blinds so that our neighbor and his customers couldn’t see in but they wouldnt close completely and left a sizeable gap you could easily see through. They were also spotted with what seemed like blood and various other stains. The comforter resembled a dirty, repurposed circus tent. Upon pulling back said comforter, I discovered blood spots all over my pillow case. I immediately went to find the extra pillow in the room and noticed that it had a matching set of bloody dots. We couldn’t call down to ask for new pillows because the chatty check-​in man is the only employee on the compound and would have kept us up for another hour. I wrapped a pillow in two t-​shirts and tried to sleep. The mattress was like a solid plank of wood and the bloody pillows were flat as pancakes. After a night of absolutely no sleep, we left the moment the sun rose. Upon leaving our room, we discovered the charming cherry on top of this horrifying experience — a condom wrapper dropped right outside our door.
We checked out 3 nights early and thankfully booked through
who gave us a full refund. Our family in the area booked this place for us and we never got the chance to look at the reviews before arrival. I have NO idea how the Campbell Inn has two and a half stars because it deserves ZERO. Any reviewers who gave it more than that must be clients of our neighbor Jessie Pinkman.
Do yourself a favor and spend the extra $ 30 a night at one of the many other hotels in the area.

Do not, I repeat do not stay at this place!
This place has gone from one of the nicer places to stay many years ago to one of the very worst! It is antiquated, dirty, uncomfortable, mismanaged, and dysfunctional. The beds are very hard and the wall air conditioner/​heater is impossible to control. I checked in on a Friday night and requested a spa room, when I checked in I saw that it in fact had a spa in it. It was late so I went right to bed. My plan was to go for a run in the morning followed by a soak in the Jacuzzi tub before I checked out. It wasn’t until I filled the tub and tried to start it that I realized it was broken. All of the timers (there were three of them!) made noise but did not work. I proceeded to get dressed and go to the front office to complain. They told me that the manager was not there and they couldn’t do anything about my problem without him. I asked when he would be back and they said Monday! Reluctantly I checked out and planned to call the manager first thing Monday morning expecting a full refund.
On Monday morning I called and was connected to the manager, his name is Hassan Raza. He was very rude and refused to remove the charge from my card, saying that I spent the night and should have complained when I checked in. I told him I was unaware of the problem until the morning. He refused to discuss it any further. I told him that I was in the neighborhood and would come by to dispute the charges in person. He told me if I did he would call the Campbell police department!
I went there anyway and he would not come out from his office. I told the person at the desk that they had better call the police because I wasn’t leaving until this matter was resolved, she said that he already had. The police came and he continued to refuse to refund my card. I was told that the only thing I could do was dispute the charge with my credit card company.
How ridiculous and petty is it for the manager to go to these extremes to avoid a justifiable refund. I will never stay there again and I strongly suggest that you don’t either. It’s by far the worst experience I have ever had at a hotel!

FRAUD– We were in town for a funeral, and used a credit card here that we never use. After checking out, there were miscellaneous charges that we did not authorize. Someone went shopping at Luckys, and helped themselves to gasoline. Thank goodness we have a great credit card company who tracked the fraud and is now INVESTIGATING the Campbell Inn. Other than not taking security seriously, the air conditioner was loud, smelled awful, the bed was old and it was step up from a roach motel. We stayed here 10 years ago, and its definitely gone DOWN hill. Would not recommend to anyone.

Old and run down, see the photos I posted of my bed. Even the toilet seat is uncomfortable. Appears clean, but I don’t trust appearances.

First, we had trouble with Campbell Inn when we called to verify the reservation we had made a month earlier via Expedia. Second, They «lost» the reservation and blamed Expedia. Finally, we arrived and found that they DO NOT take cash. We won’t be going back.

Cute hotel for close to everything stay in San Jose. Great breakfast, pool and a hot tub. Bed was comfy, air conditioner a bit noisy, room was spacious. Loved having his and her vanities with 2 sinks!!!

I started out by presenting the Unilocal 25% discount to the front desk and they did not honor it. I stayed in a room with a king size bed, the sheets were way too small for the bed. I went outside to get ice at night and noticed a group of guys smoking drugs right outside there room. The restroom doors seam to be in the way, open door covers access to shower. I can say their breakfast is good. Won’t be staying there again, better places to stay at a cheaper rate with better quality service and rooms.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 4 nights over Christmas while visiting my family. Probably endeared it to us a bit as it’s nice to escape from family holiday times sometimes.
Free parking, wifi, close proximity to bars, restaurants, and a CVS. Free breakfast buffet exceeded expectations with decent eggs, bacon, toast, oatmeal, cereal, coffee juice, muffins, pancakes.
Room had: mini fridge, 2 phones, coffee maker, safe, iron+ironing board.
We both worked for a hotel in the past and so are pretty non picky guests. We looked after ourselves and only used housekeeping one day so I can’t say much on that. They restocked towels, TP, emptied trash, made bed, didn’t touch our stuff. All good.
The furniture and décor is a little mismatchy but kindof cute. TV worked, free wifi was quick enough for streaming netflix. Our room was on the corner of the second floor and we didn’t have any problems with noise of any kind.
The pool looked nice and clean but is outdoor (possibly heated?) but we didn’t have suits with us in December anyway. Can’t remember if I saw a hottub but there probably is one.
Our room was spacious, with a little bar sink area and also a big bathroom with a standing shower and separate jetted tub which was cool but we didn’t use.
Didn’t interact with the desk at all besides at check in, and he was nice enough. Offered us to pick first or second floor. That was nice. We remember our trip and this place fondly.

If you’re a light sleeper like me then stay somewhere else. I can hear conversations, footsteps, rolling luggage, etc. One of our lamps was not working. My Wife & I were scared to let any of our personal belongings touch the floor. I have stayed in worse at the same time. I would stay else where if given another chance.

Having lived in the area, always passed this place but never needed to stay. Did have friends that mauled prom dates there so I had second or third hand experience. When the time came to visit the hometown, I asked the wife where she wanted to stay and she indicated somewhere central to friends, family and the immediate area we used to live.
gave a great rate and good reviews, so we gave it a whack. What a pleasant time we had. Huge room with a small sitting area, coffeemaker, micro and small fridge. Would also like to mention the bathroom which was as large as some hotel rooms I’ve stayed in prior.
There was a problem with one phone (there is one next to the toilet as well!) and that was sorted promptly and efficiently, and the gals at the front were friendly and helpful.
The kids loved the pool complex and they offer your standard buffet breakfast in a nice enough room poolside. Not the greatest stuff, but equal to most mainstream hotels that provide brekkie.
Sure, it may be a little long in the tooth, but if you want a decent place to stay for a fair price then look no further. As a bonus, you are right by downtown Campbell, a hopping spot for sure, and the Los Gatos Creek Trail goes through the parking lot so eye candy aplenty can be found.

This was a refreshing hotel experience. We stayed here for one night after staying two at a motel 6 and my family were so happy to get such an upgrade. The room was large, had a big bed, two comfy chairs, lots of mirrors, a closet. A full bathroom with a giant shower was awesome. And the tv had a lot of good channels. The free breakfast was yummy too.
Glad we came here. Was worth spending an extra 40 bucks and should have come here 2 days prior instead.
My only complaint is how dirty the carpets were.
My daughters clean white socks turned almost black after just a couple hours of playing.

I would give this place ZERO stars if that were an option! Horrible service and a TERRIBLE manager.
Campbell Inn is terrible. Uncomfy beds, bathroom door barely had room to shut around the toilet, and to add insult to injury, they refused to refund our deposit at checkout, claiming we had smoked in our room. We definitely did Not smoke in our room. Front desk staff were rude and disrespectful. Manger Naomi Brown was so disrespectful and condescending. We did not smoke in our room and I am still so offended by her accusations.

My mother is currently staying at this hotel and her laptop, along with her friend’s laptop, have been stolen out of her room by the staff. The cops are there investigating and the manager seems to not care at all. This hotel is absolutely trashy and disgusting. I’ve stayed at a Motel 6 before and it was way nicer than this. Apparently, the only plus to this hotel is the breakfast. Really? Save your $ 125/​night for a hotel that WON’T rob you. Absolutely disgusted!

That is how I described the hotel to everyone that asked me about where I was staying on a recent business trip. I loved the multiple mirrors, and the toilet with the low flow options. The bed was comfy and my room wasn’t too cold nor sweltering whenever I entered it.
It looked a little dated, but I feel that only added to the charm. Perfect walking distance from downtown Campbell so I could have a few cocktails.
